Both make fun of the "Magical Girl" anime trope, with good humor and in no way bash the trope despite this. While BKCBL pokes fun at the trope and in a way takes itself (slightly) seriously. MSO completely roasts the trope and is more self-aware of itself. Both center around making the "magical girls" into males, but play it out very differently. Both share boys taking on girly outfits, using girly wands, and crying out girly attack names... the list of tropes goes on... If you enjoyed one anime poking fun at the magical girl trope, you'll probably enjoy the other doing so too.

Both directed by the same person, comedies about boys in high school. However, one is about magical boys and the other one is just daily lives. Both can be considerably hilarious.

Super Sentai rangers but with huge twist. Instead they are magical boys ( Mahou Shounen) who must protect the Earth from evil monsters. There is still justice but more on love and peace.
report Recommended by AnimeFan500
Both are colorful, quirky shows involving high school boys in crazy situations. Meganebu! is slighty more based in reality than the magical premise of Binan Koukou, but both series feature similar archetypes.

Both shows involve magical warriors, where Binan Love can be thought of as a magical boy parody of Sailor Moon. Both shows involve five high school students and an animal familiar (a cat in Sailor Moon and a wombat in Binan Love) to fight monsters using magical powers. The main difference aside from the gender of the magical warriors is that Binan Love is more of a comedy while Sailor Moon is more story-driven.

Although Nozaki-kun focuses on a manga artist and Binan is about magical boys, both series are full of wacky, often sarcastic humour that doesn't take itself too seriously. They both take the tropes common to the genres they parody (shoujo manga in Nozaki's case and mahou shoujo series in Binan's) and turn them upside down to create fun comedies.

Both shows involve adorable boys embracing their femininity. While LOVE! takes this is a more light and humorous tone, turning the stereotype of overly-masculine heroes and flipping it on its head, Sanrio Boys takes a more down-to-earth and realistic tone, showing the unfortunate consequences of people expressing themselves in an abnormal way.

If you want shows that twist the genres and are parodies and comedy - then these are both great! They are both creative and funny shows with male casts of shoujo manga with twists. In LOVE! the guys are sort of like a male version of Sailor Moon - while in Sekkou Boys - the idols are literally idols (statues). The parodies and humor don't stop there, so if you are in the mood for something different than a regular shoujo romance check these out and be prepared to laugh!

The two of these are very similar in terms of genre, plot and quality, but Binan Koukou is almost like a parody--it's very good for those with Sailor Moon nostalgia, or those who have fun laughing at typical magical girl tropes. In short, it's almost like a mix of Sailor Moon Crystal and Free!, and not to be taken seriously at all. Good downtime watch material.

There is a group of guys who are forced to wear very "girly" outfits and say embarrassing things that you wouldn't expect to come out of a boy's mouth. Although they protest at first, the boys are quick to accept their situations and act the part accordingly. Both shows are very funny and weird, but you can't help but love them.

Both have magical transformations, and a team of five girls/boys bestowed with special powers being asked to fight against monsters to save the world

"Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!" / "Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!" and "Wish Upon the Pleiades" / "Houkago no Pleiades" are shows involving a cute alien creature giving five humans special abilities in order to achieve something. The two series are both centred around a slice-of-life setting with an antagonist that is very obviously a friend of the protagonist.

Two slice of life shows about handsome male school students. A lot of very similar characters. Also, both have Nagisa.
report Recommended by Stray-Fukurou
Both are lighthearted anime in a school setting featuring all-male casts. Both have similar character archetypes as well. Gakuen Heaven is a bit heavier on the shounen ai, but both the anime have several suggestive situations that lead to amusing episodes.

Parodies of magical girl anime. OreTwi focuses on the power of twin-tails and using that to fight against giant creatures out to steal people's various attributes, be they of twin-tails, girlyboys, or glasses. And while most of the group is female, the main fighter is a guy who turns into a girl when he puts on his Tail Gear. Binan Koukou, on the other hand, is basically a magical boy anime that does nothing but make ridiculous fun of the entire magical girl genre, from the cute animal mascot to the monsters of the week to the transformation scenes - they're still guys, but dressed  read more

Both are absolutely perfect and hilarious parodies of typical shoujo genres, Ouran of otome/reverse-harems and Binan of the magical girl warrior genre (like Sailor Moon). Ouran does this by having an unusual heroine who takes things in stride and just won't play along with the shoujo script. Binan does this by replacing the usual middle school girl heroines with high school BOYS, who then point out every bit of ridiculousness about what is happening while still going along with it. Oh, and they are also practically naked in a bath house about 50% of the time and constantly and intentionally tease Boys Love between the  read more

If you love having boyxboy ships, these both anime are the way to go! Both have really close bromance relationships, up to the point when you're thinking "just kiss already!" Free! is about swimming and Binan is about defeating everything with the power of love! but both share the similarity of five guys loving their dude friends.
report Recommended by Meigetsu
Both are comedy and parody animes, lots of stupid jokes and references to japanese stuff in general. You also can't stay 5 minutes without laughing with these 2
report Recommended by ren6
Both are about magical boys and parody the magical girl genre. Both are absolutely hilarious, though KoreZom is more of an ecchi/harem and Binan is more appropriate and doesn't have any girl characters in sight.
report Recommended by youwatanabe
Both have a very similar vibe, and with Binan Koukou is closer to a parody, both series are collection of moments which are borderlining on shounen ai. Both are light-hearted and feature bright colors in their art styles. The personality types of the main characters are also similar, but a different experience can be gained from watching one over the other.

- magical boys fighting against monsters, for justice, happiness love and peace - pretty boys, moe feeling - enemies are also another group of boys
report Recommended by SusynQa
Youngsters fighting monsters and weird creatures influenced by villains, both shows have magical transformations with a magical feel to it, difference is that Binan features men and PPZ features young girls. Episodic and wrap problems throughout the last minutes of the episode to save the day, with slow character developments and solid humor.

If you enjoy watching Binan Earth Defense club adventures, Dai Mahou Touge is a Must-see! Both of these are absurd, extreme variations of mahou-shoujo genre. Both of these show you some food talking and walking around instead of peacefully lying on your plate.
report Recommended by Monoxid
Similar humour, parody, absolute randomness. Both shows are comedies with occasional serious and heart-warming messages behind all the fluff and glitter. Bursts of uncontrollable loud and hearty laughter guaranteed.
report Recommended by Mako
Both Binan Koukou and Go! Princess Pretty Cure have a name of a son/daughter of the monarch, which is 'prince' and 'princess' respectively in their roll call upon transformation.

- Both are really colorful - Both have some nice looking bishounen - Both have singing - Both are in a school setting I love both of these shows a lot!!! Binan koukou chikyuu bouei-bu love is a really great show, but it has magic elements, like a gender bender sailor moon type. I think the cheerful, colorful singing is the same in both shows- so if you liked Uta no Prince Sama, you're gonna like binan koukou chikyuu bouei-bu love!!! ( there's no romance in the series) (( this is my first recommendation- excuse the crude englsih))

two parodies for the fans of mahou shoujo/nen and reverse harem, that flesh out tropes of respective genres in a really fun and lighthearted way. obviously, both go with a pack of cute bishes as a bonus :)

Idolish7 is a idol anime Cute high earth defence club is a magical boy anime Both genres are slightly similar, if you really think about it. Idols and Magical Boys both have to wear flamboyant clothing. The main reason I'm comparing the two is that there is so much character similarities. Firstly, theres a bigger group with more down to earth boys (Idolish7, the defense club) and then there's another that are antagonists to the other group, with much more experienced people in it and compromised of 3 people (Trigger, student council) Now character similarities. En = Tamaki (look very similar, kinda lazy, have a friend who's the complete opposite  read more

Binan Koukou and Kaiijuu Girls are about cute characters that have unexpected magical like transformations (Boys and monsters??). When not fighting creatures, the characters in both shows hang out and have random conversations.

Both anime are basically full of bishounens, so girls don't hold your instincts anymore! Funny and colorful, they both share some care-free theme, that you can enjoy anytime. Maybe even can cheer you up? Really cute and colorful male characters and tons of jokes. Still not convinced? Give it a try

Although different in plot, both shows are magic/supernatural comedies/parodies with similar humour, totally exhilarating and heart-warming at the same time. These are perfect for days when you don't want to overload your brain with heavy plot or action, but want to have a great and relaxing laugh instead.

Good people overcome by their flaws getting turned into monsters, but fear not because our post-transformation magical beautiful transforming warriors are here to save the day in true magical girl style! - Cute anime sidekick - Unmotivated protagonists - Magical girl parody - Cute and dumb and fun - Unexpected funny with slightly out-there jokes

There is so much over-the-top cheesy humor with fairly strong BL/Yaoi vibes present in King of Prism by Pretty Rhythm and Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!. No matter which one you enjoy, you would most likely enjoy the other just as much. These two series involve groups of good-looking young boys along with their friendships, hardships, and just having fun. They're light-hearted series which, even if you can't take them seriously, you may seriously grow to love them. Watching either with a friend is pretty much a guarantee that you'll have a fun time laughing together.

>Sarazanmai is basically a magical boys anime but weirder >Both deal with monster-like villains who are people with desires >Theme of love/desire >Weirdness and comedy in both >Mascot that gives them the power >Themes of friendship > Both have evil organisation with similar powers >cute anime boys in both The difference is that Sarazanmai has lot of metaphors and deals with dark themes while Binan Koukou is light hearted

Both shows have an all boys cast that make parodies out of existing anime cliches. Binan mostly parodies Sailor Moon and mahou shoujo while Osomatsu-san covers any kind of anime.
report Recommended by Mayuka
Two shows about high school boys, chilling out, having silly conversations and reveling in the joys of friendship. The banter and close relationships between characters in particular is very similar. Binan is basically if the boys from Kimi to Boku had been chosen to be magical boys ("love princes") and save the world, and Kimi to Boku is essentially if you took the silly magical girl parody out of Binan. If you like one you'll be sure to appreciate the other.

Both have relatively similar comedy styles (ridiculous humor), with an entirely male cast. While Sukisho is a shounen ai, Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu has some gay suggestions (especially in episode 3).

Similar transformation sequences and the concept of healing darkness-ridden monsters with magic and love

"Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!" / "Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!" and "School Days: Magical Heart Kokoro-chan" are both comedic parodies of the magical girl genre, where the protagonists fight against equally ridiculous villains in equally ridiculous premises under the name of justice and love.

Both involve groups of high school clubs. The shows contain over-the-top ridiculousness and comedy. Sabagebu is filled with slapstick comedy while Binan has mostly ridiculous plot devices and conversation topics. Sabagebu has a female cast and airsoft guns, while Binan is a mahou shounen.

Each are fantasy/magic genres that deal with gender differences from original stereotypes, where Binan deals with male magical girls and Utena deals with the reversing gender roles of typical "rescue the girl" tropes. Both series are mainly episodic and deal with riddles in every new episode, however Utena is more psychologically/drama based while Binan is more comedy/light-hearted focused. Characters like Wakaba from Utena and Yumoto from Binan, bring an optimism and similar warm humor to the two series making it more enjoyable to watch.

Shows for distinguished lovers of bath culture. Binan Bouei-bu is a 'magical girl' parody with lots of references to classic magical girl tropes but also to baths and popular bathing hotspots around Japan. The gang also spends a decent chunk of time lounging around in a public bath; as befitting a tasteful magical boy brigade. Good job gang. Thermae Romae is more for the purists. Baths. Nothing but baths. Mostly Roman baths and Japanese baths; idiosyncratic in style but also educational in nature. A quality piece of animation for someone looking to relax and/or get very worked up about baths (preferable post-bath, with a cool drink in  read more

Both anime take place in a school setting, where the main characters are in the same club. Happy Seven has a team of magical girls and one magical boy, and Binan has a team of magical boys. They transform and fight demons who come to the school and possess people. Also, the antagonists of both anime are in the student council.

Both have magical boys; although Ryuusei no Rockman is more of a magical boy "aspect" to it- it's not technically magic; but an alien fusing with a human. BinanLove takes place in a high school; while RnR takes place in Elementary (which is obviously a shota warning o/). There are a couple girls who transform, but mostly only males (Subaru, Tsukasa, ect...) transform. So technically BinanLove wasn't the first "Magical boy" anime of it's time o /

In Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE! people with negative emotions get "zunderized" and turn in weird bizarre monsters. Which once saved by the good guys they are filled with love and happiness. In GaoGaiGar people with negative emotions get "zonderized" and get turned into weird bizarre robots and mechs. Which once save by the good guys they are filled with love and happiness.

Magical warriors! School students! Animal mascots! All three make up the similarities of both anime shows. Both are about magical warriors who attend a school. In BinanLove, it takes place in a high school, while in Happiness Charge, it takes place in a middle school. Both leaders are young and more energetic than their teammates. Only difference is Megumi likes to help others and Yumoto likes animals. Overall, just gender-swap the characters and this is your result.

When I watched the first episode of this anime, I actually said, "This reminds me of Madoka Magica." ..So here's a recommendation for you guys! Both are magical anime, one being magical boys, and Madoka Magica, being a magical girl anime. Both have characters you can fall in love with, and are really cute and colourful. Both have an alien that give them the powers to transform. And of course, both have monsters that they go off and fight.
