These shows are both somewhat episodic series that contain an array of characters going out to defeat evil in... unusual ways. The settings are different in that one is basically about power rangers, and the other is about magical boys. Samurai Flamenco also has better characters and story due to it being longer. Both shows

I agree with what the other users have said! One new-ish point i want to make is that they're both very meta shows. earth defence club is meta throughout the whole season xD if i remember correctly, samurai flamenco's meta-ness is only concentrated in some parts though!
