Both shows feature main characters with really mundane lives, but soon enough they happen to find themselves in a situation where they have to live with some kind of supernatural non-human creature who wants to be their maid! Both Mahoromatic and Kobayashi feature some sort of sex appeal. But while Kobayashi is generally more cutesy in classic KyoAni fashion; Mahoromatic is a bit more "explicit" to say the least (it has full on nudity in some scenes!) That's not to say that Kobayashi doesn't also have its fair share of sexy characters, but it's way more PG. Kobayashi felt very inspired by Mahoromatic. If you like one  read more

Same type of story. Both are about alien girls. Both have a main character that's a guy and they both fall in love with the alien girl.

Pretty much a modern rendition of this old work: Weird girls asked to be hired as rich boys' personal maids who live alone. Both maids used to live blood-stained lives. Mostly focus on comedy and daily life.

Both are stories about a guy who lives with a female-looking (very good looking, I must say) robot, and... both are ecchi. xD

Both are about Maids living-in with their employer, and both are ecchi.

Both series have the vibe of an endless summer (particularly season 2 in Haruhi's case). In their sequels they acknowledge the happiness and wonder that can be found in this warm, ideal period of youth while also suggesting forward progress as opposed to escaping from responsibility. The two shows heavily utilize 2000s otaku imagery, as studios Kyoani and Gainax are known to do.

Both shows feature the male MC living with a female MC who was essentially originally created to be a living weapon. Both are ecchi comedies that also have dramatic and serious parts and an occasional fight.

Both involve the female protagonists being Maids. In Mahoromatic she is a proper maid in service and in love with the protagonist whereas in Maid-Sama she works in a Maid Cafe and is in love with the protagonists. Also the male protagonists are both perverts.

A Person with strong ties to military personnel goes and protects someone with ties to the military that they do not know about. Both have: Some episodes are very packed with action and others have tons of episodic slice of life episodes where they just mess around. Fanservice. The person being protected likes the person doing the protecting. Both of the shows have very similar tones as the other show.

Mahoromatic borrows a lot of elements from Neon Genesis Evangelion, both being made at studio Gainax, and they ended up sharing a lot of similarities. Both are about a war between humans and alien beings, called angels and saints, they have an organization working from the shadows, with a council that involves monoliths, and have overall a similar aesthetic, with good character designs and animation.

Both are sci-fi series with a male and female duo that take place (besides some of Birdy season 2) in a town with a larger intergalactic backdrop causing many of the events in the shows to occur. The duos consist of a normal teenage boy and a female, nonhuman warrior whose origins come from that intergalactic background (there is also some interesting worldbuilding with the settings in both that makes them unique as well as similar). Mahoro and Birdy are the most similar thing between these two, as they both have important mysteries in their pasts, they often give an air of being  read more

Both have robotic girls that try to help the main character out

Both series feature a similar mix of ecchi humor and the occasional action-scene, and they both star a young man who has a girl living in with them. Said girl has superhuman abilities, a troubled past and a very disapproving attitude of those porn-magazine the boy keeps looking at! So if you like either one of these series, there's a good chance the other will appeal to you as wel.

these two anime have very similar story lines, in one a young boy gets an android as his own maid, in the other a young boy gets a witch as his own maid. And if that was not enough they have similar love triangles, or possibly even love squares. both anime are mostly comedy though they do have there tearjerker moments, but for the most part they are extremely funny. though keep in mind that Mahoromatic has very explicit content when compared to magikano. That set aside these two anime are great additions to everyones list!

Also based on a manga that's drawn by Bow Ditama. You can also rejoice in the fact that it has an equivalent amount of T&A!

Both series feature an android maid, and have slice of life elements as well as action elements. There are even a few references to Mahoromatic thrown into Pandora as well! If you're looking for a balance between cute characters and sci-fi action, with some comedy and physical gags thrown in, look no further!

Hey there, if you like Fan Service, Android fighting action, Halarious Love Triangles, like Mahoromatic, then you should watch Saber Marionette J. In this series Man kind has left their home planet and now live on the planet Terra 2. The problem with this is that there are no women on this planet, but androids that look like women. Otaru soon encounters three beautiful looking Androids (aka Marionettes) named Lime, Bloodberry, and Cherry. Each one has their uniqe attitude toward life and they all love Otaru. Just like in Mahoromatic, can these Girls make Otaru a real man?
