F**K, I've literally watched and completed more then 500 different Anime. I don't know whether to call it a milestone or a problem. For a long time I've been contemplating on what watching all this Anime is gonna help me achieve, but nothing really comes to mind. I've never been very artistic, I can't draw Anime characters at all, and I always think of stories but never put them down on paper. I don't do as many reviews anymore, and I still haven't done that Anime panel I promised myself I'd do. Many of you out there are probably enjoying your Conventions, Cosplay, and over all community and I'll tell you this, enjoy it while it lasts. I've made many fond memories within the Anime Community, but now that I'm older I've begin to realize how much of a Dreamer I was and how I used Anime as an escape from my responsibilities. Some may call this dedication to Anime but I'm starting to think that watching this amount of Anime is a curse of it's own caliber. I still love watching Anime but I've come to the conclusion that Anime isn't my life, it's a part of my personality, and being part of it means that it's only one thing out of several other things about me. At first I used to think Anime was my life, and that I'd always be involved in it but I grow older I know that isn't exactly true.
What I guess I'm trying to say is that Anime maybe a part of you, but it isn't all of you. You need to sit back an appreciate the other things in life and not let Anime take over it.
Well...that's all I have to say for now....I guess...
MAL Faithful...
What makes Anime Anime:
1. Giant Robots (Mecha)
2. Magical Powers (Fantasy, Sci-fi, etc..)
3. Fan Service (Hentai, Harem, Romance Comedies)
4. Ninjas (Just newly realized)
My View of Anime Popularity (By Class):
A-Class: Series that has a huge merchandising record and is well known by all audiences, but are totally formulated. (Ex. Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha, Gundam)
B-Class: Series that isn't large in Merchandising but is well known by all audiences, also has some originality. (Ex. Hellsing, Cowboy Beebop, Samurai Shamploo)
C-Class: Anime that isn't well known in the US television except through DVD or Internet only. Usually filler series. Some what original (Ex. Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star)
D-Class: Total Fan service. Has no serious fan base, just sexual innuendos. No Originality what so ever. (Ex. Maburaho, Rosario+Vampire, Iken)
