Emotional love triangle underpinned by a trio that has trouble reconciling feelings and friendships.

Excellent and endearing characters with romantic comedy appeal, surprising depth in writing, and remarkable pacing.

The characters. If you like the characters in one of them you have a good chance of liking the characters in the other. This might be the most important thing Both were originally a light novel series. Both have a solid story that revolves around the development of the characters. They're both romantic comedies that don't rely on fan service.

High school romance shows with relatively comedic first seasons but end up being heavier than expected in the second season. One's more of a harem series while the other is a more traditional romantic comedy, but they aren't exactly typical to either genre.

Centered around the same club at high school, The main character is also a self-sacrifice, and The romance develop in a pentagonal way

There's something really similar about Hikigaya and Legoshi: it's their sincerity towards others and how they are always on the sideline while everyone else seem more important. Also, the wolf-like eyes (Legoshi is literally being a wolf though). Both shows take place in a school setting and tackle life problems with other people. Because of the resemblance I started watching Beastars so you might check it out, too. Although it takes time to get used to since characters are all animals there.

- Hikigaya Hachiman and Ayanokouji Kiyotaka act the same and have a different point of view of society - Yikino Yukinoshita and Horikita Suzune act the same - Same genre

These shows are different, but have 2 main similarities between them: 1) It is "psychological" non-traditional anime romance based in the inability of characters to have fulfilling relationships due to emotional issues 2) The plot progression is heavily focused on the internal growth of characters, more than on the external events

Aside from taking place in a high school, both series are striking similar in the way they handle realism. Slice-of-life issues are addressed from episode to episode while romance serves as an underlying plot connecting all the events. The main leads are similar in the sense that they secretly yearn for someone to understand them even though they appear to reject intimacy at the surface level. If you like one, I think you'll definitely appreciate the delicate romance of the other.

Both have heavy drama. Have a similar tone which is mostly depressing. Characters seems to hate each other. Both are good.

- women - characters have similar has a different story but has a school theme so you won't get bored with the conflicts that will come

We are interested in relations between high school students (friendship, romance). Similar atmosphere, realistic and more mature than the previous season (in both animes)

In both of these series, you are focused on the psychology of a restricted number of characters, and how it is going to influence each other's mindset. There are similarities between the main characters since the series describe their way to understand their own feelings.

They are similar in that: -They take place in a high school setting -Both the main male characters are not clueless -Involves a love triangle between the main guy and two girls -Both are romcom while having a bit of drama -Both have unresolved endings

Even though they are of completely different genres, they gave off the same feeling. The characters' emotions are presented in the rawest manner. The ambiguities in the characters' intentions lead to seemingly out-of-place actions. Their true feelings were never directly presented to the viewers. This would also mean that both series require a huge amount of thinking and interpretation.

Teenage angst is probably the best word to describe in what genre these two fit in. Many issues that could be solved by simple communication can get unimaginably awkward and tricky in the setting these series take place in. As opposed to the uncaring nature of how other high school students are portrayed, our protagonists get the unlikely role of helping others and solving problems (Ayanokouji helping Class D, Hachiman working in the Service Club) but they tackle it on their terms with Ayanokouji pulling the strings behind the people in his class that often results in a surprising turn of events in the favor,  read more

High school romance shows with comedic first seasons but end up being heavier than expected in the second season. Emotional love triangle.

Both share teenage MC who can be considered as pretentious loners but end up having many girls surround them. And those girls end up falling in love with the MC thanks to their nice personality that like to help others. The setting and premise iare different tho, one is set in highschool mostly while the other is in game. Watch both if you want harem with a pretentious loner MC.

same kind of protagonist, antisocial and "intellectual" in some way. The approach of the topic, how they use it and the devolop of the protagonist is what makes them differents animes, but they still give me the same vibe.
report Recommended by MrBencker
Both stories focus on a introverted and cynical mc that is placed in situations where he must learn to trust his friends as well as learning more about the world around him and overcoming his cynicism to be a better person.
report Recommended by Disapeared_Ghost
Both involve a protagonist who is a loner by choice and rejects standard rules of highschool and societal conducts and expectations and they criticize those who blindly follow them. There also lies an underlying love story between the main character in both shows who are both equally fun to watch. Witty dialogue and some harsh social commentary is the name of the game.

the way they using words are fenomenal. Smart dialog.

Cynical main characters who choose to be alone end up in a situation where they must help others whether they want to or not. There are many philosophical monologues from both as they go about their lives dealing with people and their problems. A lot of introspecting is done as they come across challenges they haven't dealt with before.

They differ in story yes, but what similarities these two anime do share is that they are much more plot focused and dramatic than their predecessors. The sudden change in tone is very evident in both anime and will surely change your opinion on them, more than likely for the better.
report Recommended by ZachM
There is a high level of real life relates you will feel as watching them both.

the main character of these anime: self sacrifice, solo type player in real world ( always alone ),know how to survive in a world that he dont have any comrade or friends, if you like all of those then you will like both of them.

The Melancholy of Haruhi (MH) did not begin the trend of "school club" anime, but it did accelerate the genre over the last decade. The two shows noticeably parallel one another in that both feature male leads that frequently monologue. Kyon (MH) and Hachiman (SNAFU) both provide cynical narratives and analyses of events and characters throughout their respective series. In MH the show is told from Kyon's vantage point, and while Hachiman is darker than Kyon, he has a similar tone and demeanor. MH features a broader cast with lower levels of character depth than SNAFU2, but it focuses on the activities of the  read more

The atmosphere is really similar to oregairu in some aspects. Both are pretty much about reality.
report Recommended by fatboylikesanime
Both of them seem like regular rom-com anime but in fact they are rather deep and emotional. They are centered around the relationships in a group of students that are not very good at dealing with others. The main characters are also very alike: the weird/scary guy of the school with a cool imouto, the black-haired cold girl and the bright-haired (pink/blonde) enthusiastic girl. Even if Haganai looks like a harem, in the end (like in Oregairu's case) it's all about the love triangle formed around the 3 main character.
report Recommended by Hibiki07
- Both shows have smart and reliable male MC - Both have a expert and excellent sense of pacing and mix between drama and comedy. - Both have excellent characters and relationships - Both have female leads who have equal chance of ending up with Male MC - Both have great OP's / OST - Both have REALLY GREAT DISCUSSIONS ABOUT HUMAN NATURE AND CONTAIN INTELLIGENT DIALOGUES AT TIMES Only difference is one has a harem feel (Inou) and one does not (Yahari)
report Recommended by IndianAnimeReker
Both are essentially love comedies. In Oregairu, you have a love triangle; in Nisekoi, you have many female characters liking the male lead. The only major difference between these two series is the character development, which Oregairu is much better at.

Both have same type of Male MC . They both are intelligent and cool creatures that i admire and they see realistic precept of the society .
report Recommended by IsekaiNekko
-Both male protagonists have the same view of the world and its people although one of them tries to compromise while the other tries to fix the problems of others his own way. -Both of them make great monologues and comments about currently happening events. -Both series makes you think about the nature of human relationships.
