"Perhaps the universe can be justifiably called infinite, but the possibilities within it....different story altogether, that much I've learnt. This.....is the choice of Steins Gate"
~Okabe Rintarou
"Time is passing so quickly. Right now, I feel like complaining to Einstein. Whether time is slow or fast depends entirely on perception. Relativity theory. So romantic...and so sad."
~Makise Kurisu
"I don't care about being understood, I simply wish to understand and rest easy in that knowledge. Wanting to know people inside out because being in the dark terrifies me, is an awfully self-indulgent, egotistic and arrogant wish. But if its possible to have a relationship where you're free to burden one another with that repulsive self-gratification then...I want something genuine."
~Hikigaya Hachiman
Hi there, welcome to my profile page! Confused about my tastes in anime? Well as someone who loves all genres and is open to watch any kind of show it was bound to happen that some of my highly rated/favourite shows would be on your shitlist.
I judge anime the same way I judge the kind of foods I eat, by analysing things as a battle between the subjective (personal enjoyment) and objective (factual, thematic, character, plot/exposition analysis). So if something is objectively bad but I still give it a 'high' rating of say 6/7, it means I personally enjoyed it anyway i.e. Pretty much most of the harem shows I've seen. Similarly, I objectively know KFC is bad but I enjoy eating there from time to time since it tastes so good.
Unfortunately too many people on this website seem to think that it's not okay to have a nuanced opinion and have that as a factor when rating something. Hardly any importance is given to how entertaining something is, and too much attention is given to how something is objectively better or worse. In my opinion if something is objectively well-made but is still boring or does not try to entertain the viewer then it is still a serious flaw compared to something else that can do both at the same time.
This is why you'd probably find me on forums railing against people who only point out flaws in a show, or who say new anime is worse than older ones (forgetting the amount of variety and number of quality shows that have cropped up in this decade alone) etc., or the ones who never consider the target audience, genre or type of story when judging something. I think I just hate elitist type answers, the ones that only want to downgrade rather than moderate the opinions of others.
Anyway I'm a pretty open person, so if you want good recommendations and such feel free to look at my list or DM me on this website. If you think my ~7.5 average rating is a bit high, don't think too much into it. Some shows I've rated it higher/lower than I think it actually should be because of how much I enjoyed it or not. Which is why you'll see Monster and Re:Zero as a 10, and Neon Genesis and Fate/Zero as below 7. I know what the objective strengths and weaknesses are for all the shows I watch, however if something was really enjoyable or a downright pain to watch I will factor that in to my rating while still acknowledging the flaws in my assessment.
Thanks for reading my lengthy self-entitled description of myself :)

Sadly I won't get for sometime with pace I'm reading at due my busy schedule (about one chapter a day), but progress is progress eh?
> I very much like your anime reviews so I'd like to be friends.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate them. :)
I hope that I can continue to create content that'll be both worthwhile and fun to read!!! :D
(P.S., I accepted your friend request, too! So, I'm sure we'll chat again in the near future. :3)
To me putting Utsuro in the story is actually a genius move from Sorachi, aside from the fact that it was foreshadowed for 500+ chapters and 260+ episodes(go back to that arc where Sadaharu's original owners appear, Altana is mentioned and the Tendoshu are shown to be interested in it, and there are several other moments of foreshadowing for Utsuro), it also makes the target 1 unique villain, rather than a group of power-hungry aliens that has no real personality whatsoever, and NobuNobu is a joke of a villain, it gives Gintoki and the rest of Shouyou's students more potential for growth and development(which you'll see), all that while also adding depth to Shouyou and Oboro's characters, it may seem like a typical "The final boss is the MC's teacher/father" cliche, but it's much more than that, and it is very planned.
Oboro's motives will also be explained later on, it's actually quite sad, but it's also been very foreshadowed in the Courtesan of a Nation and SA arcs.
Thorny arc is when Sasaki and the Mimawarigumi were introduced(Episodes 244-247). Courtesan of a Nation was when Oboro and the Naraku first appeared(257-261).
Silver Soul arc is going to be 2-cours at least so you still have a lot of time to catch up.
