Just got my copy of Re:Zero vol 9 and holy wow it is THICK.

Sadly I won't get for sometime with pace I'm reading at due my busy schedule (about one chapter a day), but progress is progress eh?

Most importantly, what did you think about the plot twist that Gintoki killed Shouyou-Sensei? To this day it remains one of the most impactful moments I've ever experienced in fiction.... and the ridiculous amount of foreshadowing for it since the first canon episode and chapter makes it even more impressive.

There's quite a lot of comedy in the Rakuyou and Silver Soul arcs, especially in Silver Soul, I consider it the most "Gintama" arc, so there's that. Utsuro's end goal is explained later on though.

To me putting Utsuro in the story is actually a genius move from Sorachi, aside from the fact that it was foreshadowed for 500+ chapters and 260+ episodes(go back to that arc where Sadaharu's original owners appear, Altana is mentioned and the Tendoshu are shown to be interested in it, and there are several other moments of foreshadowing for Utsuro), it also makes the target 1 unique villain, rather than a group of power-hungry aliens that has no real personality whatsoever, and NobuNobu is a joke of a villain, it gives Gintoki and the rest of Shouyou's students more potential for growth and development(which you'll see), all that while also adding depth to Shouyou and Oboro's characters, it may seem like a typical "The final boss is the MC's teacher/father" cliche, but it's much more than that, and it is very planned.

Oboro's motives will also be explained later on, it's actually quite sad, but it's also been very foreshadowed in the Courtesan of a Nation and SA arcs.

It's alright lol, not watching it in correct order isn't the end all be all.
Thorny arc is when Sasaki and the Mimawarigumi were introduced(Episodes 244-247). Courtesan of a Nation was when Oboro and the Naraku first appeared(257-261).
Silver Soul arc is going to be 2-cours at least so you still have a lot of time to catch up.

What did you think of the Four Devas, Thorny, and Courtesan of a Nation arcs?

But also make sure to not look at the opening's visuals(for episodes 329-341) as it contains a major spoiler, and at the end of episode 341 there is a trailer to the final arc showing some spoilers from the SA, FS and RDB arcs so also make sure to stop watching whenever the ending song starts.

Preferably you should watch 329-330, and 338-339 before episode 296, because those 2 arcs are a part of Kagura's character development that is meant to be before the arc in episode 296-297.

What did you think about the Four Devas, Thorny and Courtesan of a Nation arcs? Also watch the second movie Be Forever Yorozuya before continuing on with 2015, it's canon. And MAKE SURE to watch episodes 329-341 before episode 300, chronologically they're set before that, and they'd mess up the story and the characters too much if you watch it in release order, + you wouldn't want to lose the hype of 3 long serious arcs back to back before the long final arc.
