Swordsmans fight against demons, who mask behind casual people. Violence, dark fantasy atmosphere and other similar nuances. And overall feeling Garo remind me Claymore.

Both Garo and Bahamut Genesis are currently unfinished shows at the time of this writing and are airing this season, they are both very similar. Reasons for them being similar may come from the fact that they are both being animated by MAPPA, they also both take place in a similar time period. A time period in which the most conventional weapons are crossbows and swords, they both also feature a bit of a fictional side to them as they more relate to mythology over reality. Garo more revolves around humans and human transformations with a few demons on the side, where as Bahamut Genesis  read more

Both anime has the protagonist that has access to an armor that grants them supernatural powers to fight against demons with swords. The protagonist in both titles also must project civilization from demons that are constantly attacking other people. They are also both action-packed anime with 2D-3D hybrid animation and amazing fight scenes. They also contain similar levels of violence and blood. The main differences between the two is that they have different setting with Karas being set in a modern day world while Garo: The Animation has a medieval setting. If you like, you should like the other.

In D.Gray man, people who had lost someone, can revive their loved ones but in a figure of a Demon,The Exoricst are one of the Groups who are destroying the Demons. In Garo is a Similiar story,Most of people are bounded by a subject that they own or that their loved ones owned, and with their despair or greed they can make a pact with Horors who posses their Bodies, like Exorcist in D.Gray Man there is a group of Knights in Garo who are called Makai Knights that are destroying Horrors......

Both Devilman & Garo are superhero anime that have roots with dark tokusatsu; demonstrating the transformation of a hero into a demon.

Each series follows the wide-spanning journey of a duo as they work to fulfil a preordained task: in Katanagatari, the pair seek to retrieve stolen swords imbued with great power, while Garo follows a father and son on a quest to destroy demonic beings. Their travels lead to encounters with a host of memorable supporting characters, and there are equally engaging subplots that throw several twists into the ostensibly straightforward rollicking adventure. Aside from the genuinely exciting action sequences and brilliant dialogue, there is a subtlety to both Katanagatari and Garo that certainly makes for two emotionally-compelling series. Additionally, both Katanagatari and Garo are beautifully  read more

Witches and witchhunt ✓ Medieval times, kingdoms, knights. ✓ Revenge for a fallen witch ✓ Witches are actually good people despite normal people and kingdom portraying them as villains ✓ Garo is a more serious and mature anime however and it has demons and actually a COMPETENT ANTAGONIST and not some wishy washy idiot like what Zero kara Hajimeru had.

Both the anime have supernatural power (specially the battle armor). Protagonist is both the anime tries save their country from evil or corrupted government. Few similar characters.

As much as one anime is much longer than the other, both contain that one main character with a tough past and are consumed by revenge, in addition to both containing tattoos which sort of "trigger" their rage. Lots of action, only Naruto's action doesn't exactly come with armored suits like Garo does. Lastly, both animes have their protagonists, who both have hidden potentials, undergo awesome character development.

Teenagers who have lost a parent strap on super armor and go on a quest for revenge all the while trying to control the rage that butns inside them (one of them literally burns). All the while pursued by the powers that be in their city. If you like one you'll probably like the other.

Both anime are about main characters who start off being annoying selfish people. However, after certain events the MC become more mature and compassionate. Basically, the character development for the mc is similar in both animes

Garo and Ushio to Tora are all about demons. Both have an unique artstyle and have quite an interesting story. Garo is about Makai Knights, who fight against demons and Ushio to Tora is about Ushio who uses the Beast Spear to fight demons. Leon and Ushio are both searching for the mother and are living with their dads. Garo started off slow but after a while the show improves. The character development is really good, but chances are that you won't like Garo in the beginning. Ushio to Tora is a show that is currently airing and will have 26 episodes in total (now  read more

In both of these animes there are unusual, scary creatures. In shingeki they are titans and in garo they are demons. Both of them eat humans because of an unknown purpose. Both of the main characters started their way as fighters because of revenge (their mothers died) and then it turned to be "I want to protect someone/something"

A masked hero who have mission to protect humanity from dangerous enemies using a unique power suit/armor. Similarity : + Makai Knight & Knight Sabers never show they face to public or make full appearance without their armor/power suit + Ironically, the main enemy, Bloomer(Bubblegum Crisis) & Horror(Garo), born/make by human + The phase story is same Different : + Knight Sabers (Bubblegum Crisis) only worked basic from contract job but refuse to work with bad people + Makai Knight (Garo) devoted himself to protect human without asking for anything

My first though why I watched 1st episode of Garo (just like it was with SoulTaker) was: Oooh~ My! Gods!... for the new and old! JAM Project opening~! Like in Garo, SoulTaker have very special opening created only for this particular anime. I dunno why, but only when I see opening either in Garo or SoulTaker I am just turned on to watch the whole episode without blink. Beside that SoulTaker like in Garo have "Super Hero" action plugged which just give us quick-fire heartbeat. Old, but still awesome motive of changing to battle mode (transforming) is something that just remind of old movies, serials and anime. Specially if  read more

Both Kikaider: The Animation and Garo: The Animation are based on Tokusatsu TV series. Garo is more darker and violent compare to Kikaider. The main character in both anime henshin (transform) to fight other monsters and struggle against other evil forces that threaten to hurt the people that they love.

Both Garo: The Animation and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust are action horror anime. They both have very dark and gritty atmosphere with lots of blood and gore. Garo: The Animation and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust has the main hero hunting down other monsters and can obliterate their enemies with gruesome attacks. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.

The series are similar in that demons are taking over the kingdom/empire and people use magic/weapons to stop them, but what's really similar are the main characters--throughout the whole thing Leon just reminded me of Noctis, not just angst-wise but especially with the whole chosen-one thing and those rings they have that give them powers. Other than that they both have a similar vibe. If you've played the game or seen the ona you'd probably think so too.

I've seen all series of GARO from the Live Action, and I found it a little bit different in the anime version... seems similar to Digimon X-Evolution if in GARO Honoo no Kokuin, all witches are going to be eleminated by people who're posseeded by Horor... so, in Digimon X-Evolution, all Digimon are going to be eleminated by spreading the X-Virus to the entire Digital World we can see at the very beginning of both, a minor character died, but these minor character are someone that the protagonist used care much about <= this is not a spoiler, because it's clearly showed on the very first scene  read more

Series about destined heroes who grow up rash & impulsive, believing themselves unstoppable and having to learn the hard way that this couldn't be further from the truth.

- A dark hero who fought to protect humans from the attacks of monsters but people judge him as a villain to be destroyed. Making garo & skullman almost like anti-hero. - In both films, the city where the story takes place is actually ruled by antagonist side.
