As much as one anime is much longer than the other, both contain that one main character with a tough past and are consumed by revenge, in addition to both containing tattoos which sort of "trigger" their rage.
Lots of action, only Naruto's action doesn't exactly come with armored suits like Garo does.
Lastly, both animes have their protagonists, who both have hidden potentials, undergo awesome character development.
