Tennis no Oujisama

They are about sports and have good characters that have resemblances between them. Bth are really good and addicting ^^ 

If you like sports anime in general, Prince of Tennis is a must watch! Both anime have a perfect mixture of comedy and team spirit, and both will keep you on the edge of your seat hoping the teams win! The characters are very likeable and there are many different flavors so there's a character for everyone! I feel strongly that if you like KnB, you will also like Prince of Tennis! 

Both are extended shounen sports anime with a large set of unique characters. The cast, other than the sport competition premise, is really the most similar feature of these two animes because not many animes can pull of the inclusion of soo many characters each with their own set of flaws, strengths, and colour. The protaginists are rather different though--in Kuroko's Basketball, Kuroko is initially seen as talentless and weak while in Prince of Tennis, Echizen is a prodigy and spotlighted.  

Both displays fancy exaggerated moves albeit different type of sports (tennis vs. basketball) 

Both are amazing sports anime, although they do have their differences. The character personalities clearly differ. For example, the main character of "Kuroko no Basket", Kuroko presence goes unnoticed most of the time, he's polite and he doesn't have a natural talent for playing basketball. While the "Prince of Tennis" main character, Ryoma is quite hard to miss, has a natural talent for playing tennis, and is cocky, often shown by the way he taunts players with his catch phrase "mada mada dane." Although, both main characters differ, they are the same in the sense that they both have a love for the sport that they play. An obvious difference in the 2 shows is that their both playing completely different sports (one being tennis, the latter being basketball), but even though they both follow a story line consisting of 2 very different sports, both series allow for the viewer to bond with the show and come to love the sport that's being played as well. Both are sports anime with lots of characters that all still get good characterization. The sense of humor in both series is quite similar too, as well as the plots and counter-plots while playing a match.  

•both are of the same shounen, sports genre, but different sports altogether •both male protagonists join a school for their favourite sport.. tennis/basketball •both animes show the importance of friendship, rivalry, teamwork etc •both animes sports groups/clubs, have special talents/skills/powers that make each of their individuality, making them better than others, making them elite. •both anime plots are roughly the same, both male protagonists want to be the best at what sport they play, and both animes are surrounded by a full comedic cast of supporting characters •if you liked one you will probably like the other in terms of sports and special moves/skills and winning to be the best.  

PoT is basically KnB's Generation of Miracles playing for one team. Both are team-orientated sports anime, with lots of humour, matches, team bonding moments and more. They go hand in hand, so if you like one, you'll like the other. They both have superpower sports, although PoT way more than KnB. - well, its about SPORTS!! - ones about tennis, anothers about basketball - its ur shounen sportanime, so of course there are unrealistic moves, like the vanishing drive(kuroko no basket) and Cyclone smash(prince of tennis) -Main characters are OP, completely overpowered - Main characters vow to defeat certain sum1 or pplz, - part of the school club of the sport, along with the rest of the team, the 2 schools aim to win at the national tournament or winter cup and fight against other strong schools 

Both main characters are experienced in what they do. Every each player has his own special "ability". Lots of comedy in both shows. You will really enjoy both series 

Both involve a bunch of guys playing sports. 

Both have prodigies and people who do the impossible. 

both are pretty instense,while also both have super powers/Exaggerated Attacks but in a good way.both main characters are short,both Main characters play for their school of choice regardless of stronger schools.both main characters strive to win the biggest title.  

Great sports anime with superhuman moments ^_^' also with an annoying love interest and an oblivious main character of said love interest. 

Similarity - all boys players and female coach - there are practice program, tournament, teamwork, friendship Difference - Kuroko have more plot other than winning the tournament - POT focus a lot more on each characters' technique and development - POT have a lot of episodes, so they mixed of practice at the court, setup summer camp, and after school activities instead of purely focus on practice and tournament.  

Same sports, tennis. Both have a wide range of cast and characters. Both deal with competitive tennis and the drama and stuff surrounding the sport.  

Both are about tennis with a few similarities and some differences: -Prince of tennis has special techniques just like Kuroko no Basket while Baby Steps strives for the realism route just like Slam Dunk (If you watched the two then you would know what I am talking about) -Prince of tennis talks about Echizen Ryoma who is a talented tennis player while Maruo is not simply because he picked it up during his high school years. -Prince of tennis has Echizen Ryoma joining the school tennis team while Maruo joined a club that is not within the school grounds. -Prince of tennis revolves around beating the antagonist of the series, Rikkaidai while Baby Steps does not have one. -Both have good art style (tell me if i have omitted anything because I would be more than happy to add a few extra details.) read more

- Both High School Tennis Anime. - Baby Steps takes the bottom up approach as it's main character starts tennis rather late in life and finds he has a propencity for the game. - Prince of Tennis follows the evolution of a tennis prodigy as he emerges on to the Japanese high school tennis scenes and constantly looks to beat his next challenge. - Both have your typical over the top skills and completely unreasonable/impossible training methods popular in anime sports shows, but Baby Steps is far more realistic about it.  

Well it the same sport. Among all the sports series, both of those are between the most commercial ones and very likeable stories. both are quite addicting, have a gorgeous art style and a very skilled. they have the same goal:to be the best players in Japan.  

The only notable similarity is that they are both tennis animes. Baby Steps takes a more realistic and informative approach while Prince of Tennis tends to go for the more over the top action shounen direction. Also, Maruo (the main character of Baby Steps) shares the same playstyle as Inui which is data tennis. 

Well, they're both about tennis. One protagonist is already a near master and the other a complete beginner. They both face oppenents who they must over come and have incredible growth during the process. 

Pretty much both anime revolve around the rise of a young superstar and their path to their respective sports' ultimate championship game. 

Both are very long sport anime about school teams participating in competitions that get increasingly more difficult. Lots of interesting characters, very exciting plot, some humour. 

They are both intersting, fun to watch, and have awesome characters. They are both sport anime, and trust me even if u dont like sports at all and u r looking for something good to watch I definitely recommend them both to you. Not to mention they both make names to thier moves [well atleast most of the time]. 

Both are sports animes. While the main focus of Prince of Tennis is tennis (duh), Eyeshield 21 focuses on American Football. The main characters are also completely opposite of one another. However, after finishing Prince of Tennis, I craved more sports anime which led me to Eyeshield 21. I highly recommend both animes if you haven't seen them yet! 

EVERY character in Prince of Tennis has special skills and many of the characters in Eyeshield 21 does as well. Skills that can only exist in anime. These are used to make the games interesting to watch for the viewer. Both main characters while appearing different, they are both confident in their own abillities and are determined to win. 

Both have unrealistic moves and powers to help them with winning, and they are both long running. 

Both is about sport, even though Prince of Tennis is (like the title says) about Tennis and Eyeshield 21 is about American Football. Both are about Teamwork and how they develope their playing and skills over the time. 

Major S1, 2, 3 ,4 and PoT are all sports related anime. Like PoT's Echizen Ryoma, Major has an arrogant but likable male lead Honda Goro. Hence you don't have to suffer through those sports anime with depressing and low self esteem lead characters. Furthermore, the matches in both anime are interesting and shows character development. Both of these are on the top of my sports anime list. 

Both are sports where the main character is already super powerful. They both focus on the team rather than just the protagonist. They have the same kind of feel and both series have a lot of episodes 

ryoma echizen ---> sato toshiya Tezuka ---> honda goro beacuse echizen admire tezuka sam as toshi admire goro and same time admit as rival 

This is actually a recommendation to the entire Major series -both animes are long shonen sport animes, PoT has 178 episodes with 26 ep national tourney ova, as well as asecond season with 12 eps. Major on the other hand has like 6 seasons with around 24 episodes long. Each anime also has its own set of ovas and movies so it'll keep you busy. -Similar main characters, goro and ryoma, both are prodigies at the sport they play, tennis and baseball, Both act cocky and loves to challenge stronger opponents. Madamada dane -In prince of tennis, they fight to win the national tourney, while in Major, they fight to play at the koshien(s2 and 3) or win the major leagues(s6, minorleague s.4) -At one point in the series, main characters join a camp to represent their country, japan, and their main rival is america. These two shows focus on a young prodigy of a particular sport and how they help their team. The father of the MC of both series is/was a pro who are crucial in their kids development. While these shows can be considered "old", they have aged well, with the sub-par animation overshadowed by well paced and high intensity games. Don't be put off by the length of these shows, as their production quality increases throughout both series.  

Both have main characters with special abilities that develop through the show, both of them in the first year of their school. (Both main characters are also teased a ot for being short, and both have the nickname "Chibi" and "Chibisuke".) Both shows also show a wide variety of characters that you meet while the main characters' teams go through tournaments, always facing new challenges that they have to overcome. 

They both have overly arrogant characters, and trying to get to the national, in plus rivalry between fellow teammates. Either way they both have the same awesomeness that makes you stay engage!!!

The Story is almost the same, A boy godly at Tennis/Cooking joins a school with equal or better people at his activity. His reason for joining is also to top his father who always beats him. 

As I was watching Food Wars, I started to make many parallels with Prince of Tennis, since both were shounen and had a similar premise. Here are some similarities I noticed: - Both explore in-depth into a particular field/skill/culture, Food Wars being about food and PoT being about the sport of tennis. - Both MCs are self-confident, somewhat cocky/arrogant teenage males who have the skills to back it up. - Both have backgrounds/previous exposure in their art, with Yukihira Soma growing up helping in his family's diner, and Echizen Ryoma being a youth tennis prodigy with several national championships under his belt before moving back to Japan. - Both transfer into a school famous for their respective art, in order to better themselves. Soma goes to Tootsuki Academy, the top culinary school, and Echizen Ryoma transfers into Seishun Middle School, renowned for its formidable tennis club. - Both are not well-accepted by their peers initially. While Soma is a friendly guy, his background in a lowly family diner is enough to earn him the other students' belittlement, since they all mostly come from elite culinary upbringings. They doubt his abilities. Echizen Ryoma is the opposite. With several championships under his name, nobody doubts his skills. However, it's his personality that many of his peers have a problem with, as he's unfriendly, cold, and tends to look down on others in regards to tennis. -Both have to initially face off against veterans at their school to make their names heard. Soma wins against several notable chefs after his transfer into the school, and earns himself some fame. Ryoma challenges the upperclassmen to matches, and utterly wipes the floor with them. But since they weren't official matches, nobody counted them. It isn't until the ranking tournaments that he starts to square off against the team's famed starting players. - Both face competitions and tournaments against formidable foes. Soma participates in cook-offs, while Ryoma participates in matches and tournaments after securing himself a spot in the starting lineup. Pretty self-explanatory really. - Both bond with the people they spend time with, and quickly become like a family. The Polar Star dorm for Soma, and the tennis team regulars for Ryoma. - Both have a father that is world-famous in their respective fields, and were trained by them. Soma's father is a world-class chef, and a graduate of Tootsuki Academy, formerly being one of the top students. He passes on many of his cooking techniques and skills onto Soma. Ryoma's father is a former pro tennis player, who suddenly disappeared from the circuit to raise his son. He taught Ryoma the ways of the racket and shaped him into the tennis powerhouse he is now. However, Ryoma mimics his father too much, and struggles throughout the show to find and discover his own play style, one that is truly unique to him. - Both ran in Shounen Jump. Not that big a deal, but still I honestly think that people who enjoy one would also enjoy the other to some degree, but that's up to the individual. Both are great shows IMO read more 

While the two anime are completely different in the aspect that Shokugeki is based on food and Prince of Tennis is on tennis, I have found that one major similarity is that can be broken down into the following: - both the main characters are male - they are both 'geniuses' in their respective avtivities - they both are experienced in their respective activities as they had been brought up in that background - they both have a father who overshadows them and are their unbeatable rival With those points in mind, if you're looking for an anime with a badass main character who is a sort of a genius, check out these anime (if you haven't already) and I'm sure you'll enjoy them!  read more 

These two anime are very similar. first off, they're both sports related, and secondly they have a similar storylines. Dispite this, each has very unique parts. If you like one of them, definitely try the other! 

Both of the are the best Great sport anime 

Both shows feature distinct schools and characters with unique play styles Both of the main characters develop into better players throughout the show I would say more but don't want to accidentally spoil anything. The shows give off a very similar feel as the characters and teams develop and overcome challenges. 

These two series are so similar in so many ways.. 1. Ryoma and Tsuna are both dragged into something by their fathers. (Ryoma = Tennis, Tsuna = Mafia) 2. They have a "tutor" that will bring out their potential. (Ryoma = Tezuka, Nanjirou, etc. Tsuna = Reborn) 3. Ryoma and Tsuna both improve really fast. And the stronger the opponent, the more they get fired up. 4. There is someone in the team that owns a sushi shop. (TeniPuri = Takashi, KHR = Yamamoto) 5. Both animes are packed with bishounens! (I swear you'll fall in love with most of the charas!) 6. Both animes lack in women, as it is packed with bishounens, it lacks in attractive women. plus, there are two girls on both teams. (TeniPuri = Sakuno, Tomo, KHR = Haru, Kyoko) and what's more, one of the two girls is in love with Ryoma/Tsuna but they like the other one. Haha XD 7. The characters have similar personalities.  read more

Fire Tornado, Cyclone Smash) 

Both are sports anime with male main characters. There is intense competition, but also a wacky sense of humor and bonding. 

Prince of Tennis and Initial D, at times, feel almost like the same story except one is about tennis while the other is about driving/racing. Both main characters are young "geniuses" in their respective areas due to being trained unknowingly for years by their legendary fathers. Both Echizen and Takumi didn't have much "love" for their sport in the beginning but ended up really growing up as characters. They both also include a large cast, with various teams they encounter and need to defeat, etc. The pacing and anticipation for each battle/game are also quite similar. If you enjoy one, chances are you'll enjoy the other as well. read more 

Also about sports, with a prodigy as the main character who gradually evolves as the anime continues. Both great sport animes! 

Both animes about a character that has extremely good skill for their age/who they are. Princess Nine deals with a female girl with very good skill, while Prince of Tennis deals with a young bot with extremely good skill. 

They are both anime revolving around sports. Also, they are both pretty funny. It's much shorter than POT, so if you don't have time to watch 100+ episodes, this would be a good show to watch. 

-Main character is really good at the sport/game they are playing, -both animes have unrealistic moves and unique animations then enhances the experience of the sport/game(saki has better animations, well it's a newer anime) - main character is related to someone who pretty much has the skill level of a pro -main charcters are part of a school club - the club aims to enter national tourney -doesnt matter if u like tennis or mahjong, you'll enjoy the anime either way :)  

Both are about tennis, and a group aiming for the nationals. Warning: Softenni has MUCH MUCH more comedy than Prince of Tennis. 

the main charcters have the same personality.. they're smart, arrogant, very good at tennis/baseball and they enjoy playing strong opponents... plus the matches they play have a good tension, they get to meet unique players in each of their matches.... uhmm.. there's quite a few psychological stuff in POF and but its mostly on One Outs... they're pretty good shows =) 

A 100% recommend this. - both are sports anime - both mc wants to be the best - both fluent and cool in what they do 

well, these stories are both about sports and how the protagonist of each series becomes a better person. and besides they both teach us the value of friendship and the importance of working as a team.. . GO team! :)
