Ice

By A.D. 2010, all men have died off quickly due to a dramatic change in the environment and an unknown contaminant. The population decreased to the lowest number ever seen...until only the women were left alive.

They live huddled in small corners of a world mostly reclaimed by nature.
There are those who accept their inevitable extinction and live a carefree life...
There are those who try to continue on the race with the help of science...
It is a society of constant conflict over their differences of principles and policies.

The story takes place in the center of Tokyo. It is one of the places left for them. The conflict over the specimen of "ICE" and the chance it may provide to save humanity begins.

Must be watched dubbed. The most manic, tonally-confused show I've ever seen. Perfect pacing, not a moment of wasted time, simultaneously hits every conventional anime narrative beat and yet manages to feel wholly unique. Proceeds less like a plot than a series of thematically-linked ideas, every scene and character that might have occurred to writers is worked in. I spent most of the show in disbelief that the main couple was, in fact, the main couple: they're such an intense aesthetic mismatch and no clear motivation for their feelings beyond Yuki Ice-T's offer of gratitude-sex. Oh, to have been the fly on the wall when ... they told the AKB48 idol that she'd play a character throwing herself at a reticent butch supersoldier who wields both a gunblade and a six-foot railgun, to the annoyance of her yandere goth sister who graphically beats her.

Mixed Feelings

Ice is a huge mess, but far from the trash that most reviews make it out to be. The cast is strong all around, but its main character is a perfect mix of kick*ss and caring. The art can be distractingly cheap at times, but the action never disappoints.

However, Ice is a huge mess. There's several attempts at these high art metaphors or allegories or cinematic somethings. I have no clue what it was trying to say. It doesn't help that there's several shots of untranslated text vital to the story. There's some Ghost in the Shell levels of pretentiousness here without the directing chops ... of GitS.

At 3 episodes, Ice is an enjoyable, easy watch, despite its glaring flaws.

This Anime was directed by Makoto Kobayashi of Dragons Haven Fame. I was interested in watching 3 episode OVA series the Story is set in Tokyo, Japan like some Japanese Anime where a virus caused the extinction of the male population. Now, women take the reins to create factions and must survive in a world where monsters exist created by a Biological weapon called I.C.E. Which focuses on two characters Hitomi Landsknecht and Yuki Kusaragi by fate and uncover a conspiracy surrounding I.C.E.

The Animation

It felt like watching anime from the 90s yet released in 2007 which tries its hardest to blend CGI and 2d ... animation.

Sound

The background and sounds but the music didn't have any Bangers what so ever that it felt boring.The creator Yasushi Akimoto is also the producer of idol group AKB48 couldn't find the right talent to create a good soundtrack for this Anime.


Overall

The Anime was a passion project with lesbian themes that were weird and not really a good story that can entertain the average anime enthusiast by any means even with a Movie it's not good anime.
