Haifuri and Kancolle involve high school aged girls as the main cast, in Kancolle they are personifications of WWII battleships where in Haifuri they are assigned to a specific ship. Our main characters in both series are new at their sea training and striving to become great. Each main character has the same go-getter attitude towards learning new things and find inspiration in others/themselves to help motivate them. While they are each based around school they are also action/battle heavy as well. If you enjoyed KanColle and want something similar maybe a little more slice of life try Haifuri.

1. Enemies from unknown origin take over the seas. 2. Humans fight back. KanColle: More lighthearted + sorta dull aside from some cute slice of life. Fine for spending free time on if you have nothing else to do. Treat like any slice of life. Ars Nova: Exciting, intelligent, better fights, better usage of CG animation, better character development, better "powers", etc. Main downside is less yuri. I don't really care much about the ship girls thing, but this anime was a real "page-turner" when it aired. KanColle was more like "oh the next ep is out".

The easiest and most obvious recommendation ever. Ocean, shipgirls, lewdness, battles, slice of life. You'll find plenty of them in both anime.

A group of girls based off of or using historical world war 2 weaponry (in Kancolle's case, naval, in Strike Witches', aviation) to battle a mysterious threat with an unknown goal.

Rearrangement of World War 2 batles through cute girls, the mix of exciting military action and moe. So if you'd like such mix, watch these.

Both anime are about a group of girls and both have personification. In Kantai Collection it's WW2 ships in Upotte's case are guns.

Military waifus - one is anthropomorphised guns, the other is anthropomorphised battleships.

Both anime are based on video games with a large all-girls cast. The plot revolves around battle and conflict with a rival faction or group of enemies. In KanColle, the girls are incarnations of battleships and participate in naval fights. Whereas in Senran Kagura, the fight is between Light and Dark shinobi (ninja) - fanservice present.

-Both are military anime involving mainly girls; -Both have a platoon of cute girls fighting to protect the world; -Both have a little of fanservice; -Both have a focus on a military equipment: Naval ships (KanColle) and Planes (Brave Witches)

-both of them are centred around girls who fight together and their friendship -both have extraterrestrials who attack earth for no apparent reason -both feature a "newbie" who wants to be stronger and gets the support of the other girls -all the girls have a supernatural power which allows them to fight against the enemies

Similar feel, both based on Japanese history, both humorous, both awesome

Personification of ships? Hetalia is about personifications of nations

both anime revolve around girls who battle in armour; whereas F.A girls is just an anime where there is no definitive storyline, Kabcolle is about trying to free the world from a mysterious threat from the sea.

The general concept is pretty different. KanColle is about a bunch of middle school girls fighting to save the world and Love Live is about a bunch of middle school girls who become idols to save their school from shutting down, however both of these anime are still very similar in other ways. Both take place in a school setting with a large cast of characters consisting of only females. The comedy styles of both anime are very identical and different characters feel like they can fit in easily with any of the two anime.

Same premise, girls in military, going to war and does cute things. Almost same plot, almost same crew. The only difference is that in KanColle, they are historical ships,in contrast to being witches in the StrikeWitches, and of course, in KanColle they have real pants/skirts.

Both animes that are centered around girls who are also war machines in human forme (ships in Kancolle vs planes in Girly Air Force).

I'm sure many people will think I'm really stretching this, but I can see a few similarities. Shingeki (Attack on Tiant) is much more serious in every aspect and it is certainly the better show with much better production qualities, overall Despite this, Kancolle and Shingeki do both have a large group of characters fighting an enemy of man kind. Both shows have a good number of characters that are not given as much screen time as they should be, but they're still good characters. Both shows have at least 1 person die before the audience really even has a chance  read more

Has a similar Moe feel of cute girls doing cute things in many episodes. Also shares the theme of spirits being reincarnated as cute girls;WWII Japanese ships and Kaijus

Two sci-fi-ish anime that are basically advertising for something else, AKB0048 for AKB48, a popular idol group, and KanColle for an online game of the same name. They both feature cutely designed girls with stock personalities that represent the spirit of something else (past idol group members vs. Japanese warships) and participate in battles wearing skirts, magical-girl style. For two such ridiculously conceived anime they are both surprisingly watchable with quite a bit of effort being put into their animation. If you really liked one of these anime, the other will probably scratch your itch for it.

The only real similarity these shows have is the main characters. They share a lot of similar traits and are subjected to similar stereotypes, moe. Character development is more prominent in Hibike Euphonium, but Kantai Collection still gives you the same feeling from the main characters.

Based on a online browser game are both. While in Kantai Collection are only girls, in Touken Ranbu are only boys. In KanColle the girls are ships, in Touken Ranbu the boys are swords. They are fighting with a black organization like to stop them doing bad things. Where they all live is almost same, just in KanColle is a school like and in Touken Ranbu is a mansion.

Spirits of old (warships for Kancolle, historical figures for Nobunagun) are reincarnated as people in the modern world as the only means of defense to fight against aliens that come from the ocean

A band of cute girls out to defend themselves against an unknown force.

I get the same feeling watching both even though the settings and plots are different. They both have cute girls enrolled in a special school who are making friends and being carefree (for the most part). And both shows have a few serious/sad moments but overall they are lighthearted, fun, and easy to watch.

Moe, moe, moe. Both anime are filled to the brim with moe and battle girls with surprisingly good animation and art. Girls slap on gear to make themselves full battle-ready and fight enemies that threaten the peace of their worlds. There is also a surprising lack of male characters, though more so in Kantai Collection.

"Kantai Collection" and "Crayon Angel" both depict the Japanese ships used in the Second World War by the Axis powers in unique ways. Also, these two works were able to portray the sinking of ships well, particularly through the use of imagery.

Key Points: -All Girls -One is navy and one is air force -Some character similarities -Both are about girls that inherit powers that can defeat the evil forces normal humans can't defeat.
