Kantai Collection: KanColle

Young girls in sea sail training. KanColle has ship-personified girls while Haifuri have the ship brigade. The setting for both is Japan during WWII and the girls are divided into groups for their designated ship. 

Moe moe girls who are also ships. Moe moe girls on ships. Moe moe. Do you like your anime cast to be more or less girls-only? Do you like your anime girls complete with tiny frames and large sparkly eyes? Do you like standard -dere tropes? And more importantly, do you like SHIPS? If so, these two shows are the shows for you. KanColle is about the fun revisionist adventures of anthropomorphised Japanese warships; Highschool Fleet is about Japanese girls in a submerged version of Japan, and they are all really into ships. 

Why do I recommend this? Because: > lots of girls as MC on both of them, > it has the same majority place setting, and > the sensation of war between ships are unexplainable. And, for the last part of my reason, I think Haifuri has greater sensation in battle situation. Nevertheless, have fun watching both of them! 

Both anime are about school girls dealing with japanese warships from WW2 in an alternative or future reality and somewhat slice of live. 

The story of these two animes focus on girls in the sea. In Kancolle the focus is more on the ships, in additional, it has fantasy too. On the other hand High School Fleet is more realistc and the story focus on a group of girls that are training to become Mariners. In these two stories you will see a group of young girls fighting againts others ships, If you like this kind of plot, girls in the army and mariners, you will probably enjoy both of them. 

They're basically Similar to Each Other tbh tho. -Same Concept about Cute Girls Fighting with Battleships. -Both of them have great and Epic Battleship Fights. -Even The Opening of Both Anime are Very Similar. (In my opinion tho.) The only Difference is that in Kantai Collection the Girl Transforms into a Battleship while in Highschool Fleet they Fight with actual Battleships tho. But in my opinion they're Both Epic Tbh Tho. You should watch Both. 

Both anime is based in World War II boat. - In KanColle the boats has become girls and fight against the abbys - In HaiFuri the World War II were recreated to teach the young girls. For the rest, you will see some ships like the "Hiei", "Akashi", "Mamiya", "Musashi" in both anime...Well Musashi is Yamato-Class so in KanColle you will see Yamato.. but that's no the matter. But If you want to know, you must see both series to compare. 

Both ship girl theme. While Haifuri the girls are the crews of the ship, Kancolle the girl is the ship. And Kancolle more daily life comedy oriented 

The crew demonstrated their exceptional technical skills as they skillfully maneuvered the Yamato-class battleship, Musashi. The high-quality graphics and captivating storyline kept the audience engrossed throughout, with a particular focus on some old IJN WW2 ships. 

Both have a similar setting. In Kancolle it is about Aliens (Abyssal Fleet) invading mankind, in Arpeggio mysterious ships suddenly appear and impose a worldwide threat towards mankind. In the case of Arpeggio girls control their own ships and fight, while in Kancolle Kanmusu (Fleet girls) are able to walk/fly on water, with body attachments and names based on real-life vessels. Both deal with the war and both are about ships saving humanity from the abyssal fleet or the fog fleet. P.S Arpeggio of Blue Steel makes an appearance in Kancolle (game). 

These two anime have a different plot but they use the names of Japanese WW2 ships. The "Abyssals" and the "Fleet of the Mist" are enemies that seemingly appear out of thin air and force the ships to attack them. Kancolle has a faceless admiral while Ars Nova has a captain that commands from inside his submarine Iona (1-401). Kancolle will be receiving a second season and will hopefully introduce submarines and ships in the game that were not seen in the first season. If you enjoyed the action and navel tactics in Kancolle you should watch Ars Nova. Keep in mind Ars Nova is much more futuristic and Kancolle follows historic battles that occurred in WW2.  read more 

What can I say, ship girls, and naval warfare, what more do you need? 

- A Captain who fought to save their Beloved ocean - Both anime has the same plot, in which is to annihilate those enemy that making the life of people feel uncomfortable. - Also Kantai Collection don't possess a single ship, because they're already a ship girl so they don't need one. buuuut in arpeggio ars nova since they called fog-ship they possess a battleship in which they use for their own convenient like destroying human's naval/battleship because they think it's fun. - The twist here is the captain of ars nova is figthing in the frontline, while the captain of kancolle is chilling in his own base and ordering ship girls what need to be done. read more 

similar in that its a navy battle show between evil ships and good ships. similar but the difference is theres no male lead in kancolle and they ware their respective ships as a kind of battle armour instead of controlling real ones as in blue steel... 

+Unknown enemies emerged and took over the seas forcing humankind to have no means to fight back. +Girl Ships having the names of WW2 ships (Kongou, Haruna etc.). -The ships are commanded by an admiral but in KanColle, the admiral doesn't talk and show his face.  

Both of these Animes are about Living war machines. Frilly little girls named after some of the most Famous ships in History fighting against an enemy wanting to take them out. 

Similar themes of ships who have been resurrected as girls. There are a trifecta of these series, Azur Lane, Arpeggio, and KanColle. Arpeggio concentrates on philosophical issues, KanColle on action, and AZ a mix of the two. 

Mental models or Ship girls, either way there are cute girls that embody WW2 vessels that are alot of fun. 

The Chinese are usually known for their cheap copies; however this time they have completely surpassed the original in quality. at furst sight Azure Lane is a complete rip-off from KanColle: In both anime ships from the WW2 era are moe-anthropomorphized as cute anime girls, even several lolis in both anime as well. Both take place in an alternative WW2 where they have to fight aliens which also look like girls. Both anime have a lot of slice of life scenes besides the naval combat scenes...or more like girls surfing over the water and shooting at enemies in both anime. Also both anime are based on a lootbox game. So if they are so similar, why is Azur Lane so much better then? Well, Azune Lane has much more colorful character design and some characters even have kemomini (animal ears). Also KanColle has only Japanese ships while Azur Lane is much more suited for an international audience (has American, British, German and Japanese ships) read more 

Ships from World War 2 anthropomorphized as girls of various sizes (from loli to onee-sans) that fight agains a foreign invasion, though the fighting scenes are mixed with slice of life-y scenes of the girls just hanging out. You won't get more similar than these. 

Well, both are a side-scrolling shoot 'em up video games ... although Azur Lane is of Chinese origin, and KanColle is Japanese, both are based on the use of boat avatars in the form of girls, Kanmusume, i.e. ship anthropomorphic of mostly minor girls, not to mention very beautiful teenagers and Lolis... they also base their story on the same era, the Second World War, and although KanColle is beautiful and very exciting, I can't get along with shallow history by the Diomedea study, on the other hand although Bibury has no experience of cheering, they knew how to center the history of Azur Lane in a mature way, not only placing Enterprise with the center of the whole plot, but also without making the plot turn only around her, but also not making plot twist and better yet show us the argumentative arc seen from other secondary characters, Enterprise is important in history, but it is not the only one that has something to tell about the War. That is very exciting, in this kind of games that are taken to anime, the idea is to see several approaches to a problem that afflicts the whole humanity... War. In that sense, both KanColle and Azur Lane, as well as other military animes, try to tell us a story from the eyes of a country that lost WWII and was subjected to a nationalist totalitarian ideal for years that left it almost on the verge of its extinction cultural... showing us what happens when extreme ideas of a sick love towards the nation, drives people crazy and makes their feelings and behaviors more primitive, hate, anger, xenophobia, contempt for other cultures that are not mine.  read more

Both anime are gacha game adaptations of games about shipgirls. Shipgirls are basically anthropomorphic ships or in other words warships turned into anime girls. They both have a very similar premise; shipgirls have to fight the evil aliens. In Kantai Collection these aliens are the Abyssals and in Azur Lane they are the Sirens. Azur Lane also has the added aspect of the different factions on shipgirls who are in conflict with each other. Azur Lane is kinda like Kantai Collection but with less slice of life. To be honest I think Azur Lane is just a budget Kantai Collection that has worse animation, worse writing and a worse story. read more 

I recommend it because it has the same theme which is ship girl. 

The linear historical storyline is a bit unclear as it lacks specific objectives. However, the unique and captivating character designs make up for it. One thing to note is that this anime contains some NSFW content.  

Cute girls doing cute things. Taking place in a WWII setting where they enemies are unknown monsters 

Both titles are based on events of the Second World War. While the characters from KanColle are personified battleships, the characters from Strike Witches are based on famous WWII pilots.  

Both of these anime are reimaginations of events/elements of world war 2, tranformed into cute girls. Kancolle reimagines the naval battles while Strike Witches the airborne battles. 

Strike witches -main character is a girl without battle experience but got high expectation from leader -girls have magic power and using exo-suit -both fight againts enemy beyond human being -both fight in sea 

The whole girls fighting with machines against invading monsters prospect is the same in both shows. And both of the main characters are plain and normal but have great latent potential. So kancolle is just like strike witches with less echi.  

Both have beautiful very ecchi weapon girls who band together in a military to fight against a world take-over by the enemy.  

KanColle has girls with boat parts attached to their bodies, while Strike Witches has girls wearing plane propellers. The girls fight out in the sea in KanColle, and they fight in the air in Strike Witches. Both casts of characters are full of determines characters with their own quirky personalities. I think the Strike Witches leave a much bigger impression, though. The KanColle girls seem to fall a little flat, but they're not bad, and some of them may draw you in pretty quickly. Both have an original soundtrack with good battle music. The art is kind of similar, but KanColle has more slip ups, and the art style is not as well done. Mutsuki and Yoshika also have the same English voice actor. read more 

Both shows are about the same. Kantai is about girls/boats whilst strike witches is about girls/airplanes. 

From light tanks to fast battleships, army to navy warfare, land to sea, but still retaining the same cute only girls vibe, gap moe/hardened lolis handling heavy armaments, learn world war II history,, witness the same female camaraderie, love and friendship, and still being able to attempt creating one of your favorite yuri one true pairing. Good stuff will happen 

Moe girls who do cute things often, both use WWII era weaponry. Though Girls und Panzer isn't actual war, the battles still get about as tense as KanColle 

World War 2 theme, in kancolle Japanese battleship becomes moe schoolgirls (what more can you ask?) fighting against monster ships, and slice of life of boats. Girls Und Panzer is about moe girls driving highly detailed ww2 tanks fighting against other tanks. Both of them feature slice of life, comedy, and action. Perfect for military otaku  

A bunch of middle school aged girls using World War II weaponry to fight each other. Kancolle is with ships and Girls & Panzer is with tanks. 

Both are schools that are based off the military. Kancolle is ships and planes, Girls and Panzer is tanks. Girls and Panzer is more of a sport whereas Kancolle they are trying to save the world. 

Both KanColle and GIrls und Panzer is about new students, joining a group of students, who then slowly develops to becoming an OP character who is crucial to the battalion they are in 

Military weapons! Even though the characters in Upotte!! are guns, the characters in Kantai Collection: KanColle are warships . If you are interested in anthropomorphic characters that are training to become useful weapons in the field of battle, then these are for you.  

Both feature beautiful weapon girls with decent amounts of fan-service and tolerable plot. It's of my opinion that Kancolle is the better of the two considering it has an entire video game lore behind it, the plot is just more immersive. The two have a similar feel to it though. 

With Both animes that are centered around girls who are also war machines in human forme (ships in Kantai Collection: KanColle vs Gun in Girls' Frontline).  

Both are pretty enjoyable if you turn off your brain. Both are almost "girls-only". Also, Asuka and Fubuki (the MCs) are like sisters, they are pretty much the same character (except for two big differences). In short, watch SK for sexy ninjas and KC for cute warships
