I give a score to an anime based on its plot and how much I enjoyed watching it.
(⭐5 for me is the lowest score where you can still say that it was worth watching, even though it may have been boring or nothing stood out.)
Hey, I’m Ayra. I come from a small town in the middle of nowhere, but it’s alright. I’m still pretty young, and soon to be a college student so life’s been pretty hectic lately. But right now even though I’m busy, I want to watch anime again because there are so many good ones that I’ve missed out on over the years. There’s just too much anime out there for me to consume now that good ones are coming out left and right. Because it's been so long since I've kept up with anything about anime, something like Frieren caught me completely off guard being rated so highly while my favorite Steins;Gate got absolutely demolished in terms of score. There are a few things that could be said about me and how I view anime stuff like that
I love all genres, demographics and themes of anime. However, there are many anime that I haven't watched yet since I seldom find time for it. I am the type of viewer who follows a certain plan and order in watching anime so I don't watch them recklessly. Also, I don't enjoy watching too many at once or waiting a week to watch another episode, so I prefer marathoning them one by one.
I consider all anime are the same although they are not, but still I judge them by their stories. Therefore, it’s possible that there is an anime or manga that is really enjoyable with many good reviews but doesn’t meet my standard plot wise so I give it a relatively low rating. For instance, I do like watching hentai anime or reading doujinshi because these literary works entertain me; however, since most of the plots happen to be average and predictable easily the rating could be low maybe from 5 down to 2 depending on how much I enjoyed it. If you can enjoy something more you are allowed to rate higher even though its story sucks.
Therefore, anything that I rate above 5 is a normal anime and manga that are supposed to be liked. My rating below 5 for any normal anime or manga means it is very bad. However, if the Hentai/Doujinshi is within the range of 5 or lower then it is still considered as normal. No matter what type of work it may be on myanimelist, I will never give a rating of 1 because I find it extremely disrespectful–I respect other people’s works as much as possible provided nobody gets hurt in any way on either side.
There are still a lot of genres that I haven't touched or rarely watch, and maybe in the future I would watch them but not now. For example, Shoujo, Josei, Kids, Gourmet, Shounen Ai, and many others. Usually for hentai anime/doujinshi manga, I don’t plan to watch it and careless enough to watch it so I don’t mind adding it in the list and would rather not include it even though there are few that I have added to the list. Because this kind of works is not my taste buds-and things like this can only be enjoyed at certain times-not all the time.
I like to watch anime instead of reading manga because I find it more interesting compared to looking at illustrated books. The only exception is when it comes to those mangas that will never be made into animes and those that have already been adapted, but the animated version ended too soon or didn’t cover everything like one piece, attack on titan, one punch man etc. For other Shounen mangas though, I don’t really feel like reading them.
Among all the types I am into, there is one exception ᅳ kids' genre. It is absolutely apparent why I have never done this before: for lovey-dovey animes or gay-thing and so on. Well, not that I liked it in terms of plot, but still could enjoy it. Anime, manga and hentai; doujinshi, games and NSFW ᅳ everything goes. However sometimes it is really disgusting so some resting time should be taken to fully appreciate it. The mood also matters a lot as well as conditions in which you are watching and situations happening around.
Basically, anime is only one of the many hobbies I have; hence what I say does not count much. In addition to this, apart from anime there are many other things that I do to keep myself busy and entertained such as working out, driving around or playing video games among others. Furthermore, some tasks and busyness may also find their way into my schedule so it’s normal for me not being consistent with watching animes or updating statuses on myanimelist. However, fear not i am here till i finish what i started especially one piece last episode before dying.
