Hayate no Gotoku!

Both have the same style of humor that revolves around parodies and breaking the 4th wall. Both Hayate and Gin have to do odd tasks because of their jobs. Both are good if you want to watch a good parody anime that relies more on telling jokes throughout the plot than....the plot itself (though Gintama's parodies could be more obscure at times if you do not follow Japanese programming) 

Even though the story is different, both shows often break the "fourth wall", both contain a lot of parodies and references to other anime/tv shows. 

Not very similiar storywise, but they are both very random, hilarious and both feature a ton of parodies.  

Both takes you years to comprehend all the parodies and references to other anime titles.

the plot and background itself have nothing to do with each other but both are great parody series as well as comedy in general. some some of the funniest animes you could possibly watch and both also occasionally have action. Gintama may be more aimed at a bit of a older audience as far as the jokes are concerned but if you watch one you really should watch the other since both are great comedies. also Gin and Hayate are somewhat similar being the character that can come out on top of any predicament so if you like one you really should watch the other since odd's are you will enjoy it ^^ read more 

Both have hilarious parodies mixed into their stories along with easy to love characters. If you love Gintama then definately give this a try 

They don't have these big plots unlike others do. They're both very random, and very funny. 

You want animes with a bunch load or references? have you watched a decent amount of animes which include a broad variety of generes? or are you completly new to anime? well either side to it, these animes are a must watch for people who've watched anime: there's a hell of a lot of references, including specific types of anime and shows for newbie anime fans: these 2 are like an "anime for dummies" book/anime. your "learn" a bit about anime from here. 

Hayate The Combat Butler and Gintama are purely winners at parodying other animes even beeping some of the references related to the anime itself. Oh yeah, Nagi-jo-sama and Kagura shared the same seiyuu 

-Both my be different in settings but at the core they are both fun filled anything goes gags with a main character who is absurdly powerful  

Both are hilarious parody animes. Both MCs are op, they even share the same hair color. Also, a lot of episodes to keep you satisfied. 

Amazing absurd comedy and amazing absurd references, lovable characters, long story-time 

Both about Butlers and their masters, both reference other anime, and both are very funny. Hayate the Combat Butler is more child-friendly than KimiAru though. 

They both have a similar style of hummor Both have as there main characters that are newly hired butlers and they both got the job by helping there female master with out knowing who they where Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de it basily Hayate the Combat Butler but Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de is more... how to said they this... is aimed at a more mature age and it doesnt have the annoying brat 

Both main characters of these series are working as butlers, and somehow they were in need of something (either work or money). Ren is a bit similar to Hayate as well (personality). At least the first episode it reminded me a lot to Hayate no Gotoku!, just older people instead of kids. 

One point that made these two similar, Butler. Only Kimi ga Aru more mature, and a have lot of ecchi more than Hayate. The genre too almost identical, comedy. 

Ren and Hayate are butlers who have problems with money. Both guys have some kind of romantic relationship with their masters 

Both about overpowered butlers, both have alot of referencing to other animes and Japanese culture, both have quite a bit of fanservice (not so much in hayate the combat butler) and alot of the characters are very similar, both very funny. 

Both are similar because of the Master and Servant role it plays and also the comedy and parody it holds. The only thing different is... THE ART AND THE NUMBER OF MASTERS THEY ARE MY NOBLE MASTERS HAS! xD

Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de contains super powered butlers , mistresses. The series has parodies on it. It also deals in some aspects of life , romance, comedy and has a great storyline.

Voice Actor for Nagi and Louise is the same and in both the main male character serves the main female character. The main female characters share almost the same personality and the male character is forced to save her several times. 

Very similar in many ways. First, in both of them main character (a male, of course) was "sucked" into other world... In Zero it's a magic, alternative world, and in Hayate it's simply the world of rich people. Second, Hayate's personality is very, very similar to Saito's. Third, the main male characters are both poor, and they have to protect very rich girl, who starts to love them... And the last - same seiyuu. Nagi = Louise. 

They both have the high and low class love relationship. 

Both of them included harem and also are a comedy, Louise and Saito have a familiar-master like relationship, same as Nagi and Hayate....... And both are VA by Kugimiya Rie 

hayate the combat butler is not like zero no tsukaima which involves magic but, both of their love stories start with the boy becoming the girl's 'slave.' Also the same voice actress for the girl... 

Louise and Nagi are both considered ojou-sama, tsunderes, and voice by the same actress. Both Louise and Nagi, have the servant and master position down the letter and as the story progress, they start to ease up on their male counterparts. 

if you look at these two, you wont see alot of resemblance to each other, other then the fact that they have alot of comedy. but for me its similar on one point because both male leads have their lives changed because of one annoying-loli-girl being introduced to them, causing their whole lives to change in a good way and meeting lots of friends. 

Although the story and setting of these two works is quite different, the relationships between the lead female and the lead male characters are very similar. In both cases, the female is in a position of privilege and the male is initially a servant to her, but over time they develop strong bonds between them. 

Although the story and setting is different . Both male lead and female lead is smilar . Nagi and Louise are both considered tsundere and ojou-sama.Girl bosses the boy arround . As the story progress both female lead start to ease up and develop strong bond with male lead .  

Basically the same show: the same relationship (love-hate between kinda unequals with harem on top) between the same characters (physically and psychologically) in different settings (fantasy vs kinda real-world). Even many voice actors are the same. Another difference is comedy: Hayate has a lot of forced and too much in-your-face meta-humor which makes it uncomfortable and unpleasant to watch, Zero uses more of a cringe and slapstick humor, which is also bad but somewhat bearable. 

Both Animes use a lot of references to other Animes and such, are both pretty random, and are both Comedic. 

A series with just as many, if not more, references to other series, but with a coherent story of its own. Cross-cultural references are just as funny, if not even funnier. 

Both series contain a lot of references to other anime/manga. The female leads in both series are huge otakus. Also both series are essentially about nothing, but both contain some great humor. 

They're both parody animes; both utilize moe like none other. Both star an otaku: nagi and konata; both have your stereotypical anime characters. 

They may not seem similar, but that episodes are similar, episodes with no meaning and nothing much happening, and hilariously funni, (: 

There are A LOT of anime refrences, just like Hayate the Combat Butler 

They're both parodies and you always see those parts where they censor some words because they cannot broadcast other shows in their anime.  

Someone in debt working as a maid/butler at the place of his master (the one he owns the debt) and everything in some harem, romance, comedy style. 

If you appreciate maid anime then why try butler,combat butler to be exact i wuldnt say that its better but its pretty similar and a bit "perv-ish" too.did i mention the love triangle rocks! 

HiMM looks more similar to HnG! than Kimiga Aruji because of the crazyness and the dynamism it has inside. The developments are about the same—butler/maids. It's the same battle where debt is the reason for having the characters continue together.

Main characters in dept to master in both anime. 

Same problem of the main character having an insanely big debt to their masters, both of them are somewhat in love to their masters, their masters are so rich & lives in an insanely large mansion. 

Watching the first two episodes is enough to notice some similarities between Astarotte no Omocha! and Hayate no Gotoku! First physically, both (Nagi and Astarotte) are small-sized, blonde haired and green-eyed. After this, behaviors, both are a little bit selfish and distant at the start (Tsundere in other word). You'll also notice that both feel lonely in their vast realm (mansion in Nagi's case). To conclude on girls, both have Rie Kugimiya for voice actress. Hayate and Naoya are especially similar in behavior, they'll do anything to satisfy their little master, to summarize they are totally devoted. They are both involved in a world that they don't know. Hayate no Gotoku! is more focused on humor and anime/manga references. read more 

As original manga reader, Astarotte is very similar to Hayate the Combat Butler, both have a ojou-sama and a servant, the relationship is pretty much the same moreover with the tons of ridiculous and crazy secondary characters that will appear in the next episodes. 

In both series there is little girl and her "babysitter". Mains char voice, Lotte, is the same as Nagi. Both are fine, and somehow funny series with a little bit of romance. 

Astarotte no Omocha! and Hayate no Gotoku! have many same things. First of all, the setting is pretty much the same: a blonde, rich-tsundere girl encounters with blue-haired guy/boy, who becomes her butler. Both shows also follow the relationship between the butler and the girl, giving also hints of romance between them. Also, the main girl is voiced by Rie Kugimiya, and the butler is voiced by girl in both series. However, there are also couple of different things: while Astarotte has more fanservice (ecchi) plus colorful and bright animation, Hayate concentrates more on school-life, and doesn't have that bright animation (expect in the second season). Although, Hayate also has parodies really many shows while Astarotte doesn't do parody of anything. The comedy is also pretty much different. read more 

The butler is often dragged around and bullied by his mistress who is a blond, child and a tsundere who loves her butler more than she cares to let on.  

Both are wacky over-the-top comedy anime that don't take themselves too seriously. They're done by the same studio, so the animation is very similar. You might also hear some of the same seiyuu, and the soundtracks are composed by the same person. 

Zettai Karen Children replaced Hayate in it's timeslot, but besides that... there are hints of 4th wall comedy in ZKC and Hayate is primarily 4th wall humor. Finally.. both are directed by the same person 

Both are done by the same animation production company; Synergy SP. They also share a few of the seiyuu casts. Several characters also make some cameos in a few episodes. Finally, both are fun to watch. 

If you finished watching Hayate, but still want more of him, watch Zettai Karen Children. The characters from Hayate make several appearances in Zettai Karen Children. 

For starters, both series has great comedy that is presented in a lighthearted mood with a fun sense of humor. The series' main female protagonist has similar personalities who often wants to be the center of things and relying on the main protagonist. They have a strange relationship. As time goes on, it seems that the female protagonist from both series holds affections for the main main protagonist. Both series has humorous dialogues that are sometimes over exaggerated as well. Both series has drama, comedy, and some emotions at times in various episodes. 

Both Iruma-Kun And Hayate no Gotoku! Start very similarly with both the main characters, Iruma and Hayate, Taken away because of their parents. Both main characters have tendencies to put others before themselves. So in my opinion if you like Mairimashita! Iruma-kun you should like Hayate as well 

Both MCs have had rough lives due to their careless parents, and were then taken in for a new, better life. The rest of the characters are I'd say quite different, and especially the setting they're in. The MC part is nearly identical tho 

Hayate no Gotoku! and Mairimashita! Iruma–kun are very similar in several ways, like: •Both are about a boy who‘s parents sell him. •Both Iruma and Hayate‘s lifes change by meeting someone rich and powerful. •They are strong because of the skills they learned by living on their own as childs. •They can both fit in the Harem genre. •This is not so related but, the main characters are blue.  

One guy surrounded by a bunch of cute girls. You get the idea. Both of these series are considered romantic comedies with a lot of comedy, drama, and yes, the r for romance. There is also character development and background involving characters of both series as the episodes progresses. Although both series' story is different, they both revolve around the protagonist trying to solve an issue. One trying to repay back a debt while the other is trying to get rid of his gynophobia. 

Similar setting in a way Both animes about butlers serving their masters Both anime's butlers are good fighters Differences: Hayate in Hayate no Gotoku is a male and Subaru is a female, pretending to be a male If you've watched and liked Hayate, you will probably like Mayo Chiki too and Vice Versa. 

Very similar graphic style and sense of humour... Yea, it's true, Seto have a very-offensive-sex-gags-based humour, when Hayate is more like parody, but if you like Seto, you will love Hayate for sure. 

If you like comedy/parody anime, both of these anime will deliver it. Both are funny in their own rights and will make you laugh through their humorous references. 

If you liked the first series of Hayate no Gotoku but didn't like the second, you will almost certainly love Baka to Test. The same frantic energy and well-timed parody of other anime shine in both series. 

If you like a good comedy and don't mind if some of it being a bit mindless and doesn't make sense all the time check these out. Baka to Test - Revolves around a main character who's always getting tricked by his friend's into doing stupid things and getting laughed at. Hayate no Gotoku! - Revolves around a main character with the worst luck always getting into situations which usually end up in hilarious outcomes. -Both "Hayate no Gotoku" & "Baka to Test" involve a main character who is unfortunate in a way that makes you laugh each time it happens. -They each have a slight touch on romance but both are more focused on the comedy. -Each of the main characters is loyal to another character and is willing to do almost anything for them with the right persuasion.  read more 

Both anime are totally random and are full of references to other series. 

They both have a whole bunch of references to other animes, both comedies, etc. If you watch one, watch the other. 

Random jokes, random fun, random days. Hayate is really just the otaku version of School Rumble. If you are a guy and you liked School Rumble, try Hayate as well. 

Without a doubt both series have their similarities, such as how both Hayate and Harima are completely oblivious to the feelings of their secret lovers. If you're into upbeat, crazy, hilarious situations, then School Rumble is definitely worth a shot. 

A school student from a poor family becomes a bodyguard and a friend of oujo girl. It's a parody, so don't expect it to be realistic. 

Comedy , Parody, mix some Romance and you got Hayate no Gotoku (HnG for short) while Ookami-san use Fairy tale and legend. HnG use oh soo many anime, manga and game . basicly HnG is for Otaku :3 and we have Voice of Heaven (HnG) and Narator (OOkami-san) that alwats mocking our Heroand Heroine the thing bout Parody is guessing the reference and if you like doing that >.< i dare you to guess all reference they use in HnG. almost nobody can tell everr reference they use in HnG xD almost  

Both focus on the life styles of the rich, as well the differences between low and higher classes, and how this would effect a relationship.  

Normal guy (commoner) gets involved with rich people. Similarities: -Harem -Male lead surrounded by princess-esque (Charlotte-Nagi), maid (Yuu-Maria), tsudere (Hinagiku-Silvia/Seika) female characters. -Male leads are physically strong -Breaks fourth wall a few times -Lots of comedy -Action Differences: -Hayate series is longer and more random. -On romance: Princess Lover favors one female just a little bit more whereas Hayate acknowledges the many ladies but pretty much treats them all the same. 

Not only are both of the female protagonists voiced by the same seiyuu, but they follow the tsundere character of the anime world, which tends to deny its attraction to the person of its interest by insulting, criticizing or even causing harm to said person. Not surprisingly, both male protagonists of the two anime are initially clueless to this. Both animes also have a huge dollop of the protect-those-i-care-about motif, though the gender role for this situation in reversed in Shakugan.  

same setting a god like or super hero like butler serves a rich kid yet kuroshitsuji have a much darker and deep story than hayate there still comedy in there though 

Even though the plot is completely different the animes have common characters like the narration, comedy.. And the mc of both anime are having absolute similarities regarding their economy (both mc are poor and have large debt) 

hayate's type of comedy is very similar to that of the filler episodes of gray man i.e. the Komurin episodes. Also Alan's work to pay off his masters debts is similar to Hayate's parents debt of 150,000,000 yen but Hayate is purely a comedy series. 

Heroines both are otakus and really rich girls. The main boys always protect them. There are maids. 

They both have a male main character who fights to protect someone and i think the humor is somewhat similar.  

Both of these manga/anime's feature teenage heiresses who are in need of protection from those after their inheritence. In both these serieses, the heiresses are being portected by seemingly inhuman males: Hayate the Combat Butler! - A 16 year old boy, who's drive and determination seems to result in him, at times, gaining superhuman strenth and endurance. Kamen no Maid Guy - A large muscular man (seems to be an android), who has shark teeth, sharp nails, wears a mask and has 37 sences. 

If you like randomness, parodies/references to other anime and comedy then these shows will suit you just fine. Artistic styles are extremely different though. 

Both are about high school students owing a debt to rich kids, and both the main characters are clueless about the people that have crushes on them. Although Haruhi in Ouran High School Host Club has no choice but to cross-dress, Hayate from Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku) is forced to cross-dress at alternate times by his master and his master's maid (I find that somewhat similar). Both of these are very random, and have awkward situations, although Ouran High School Host Club is shojo and Hayate the Combat Butler is shonen, I think they're both great. And hilarious. XD
