Hope yours was good too
But omg, I love how you included Mea without any mention of her, thinking "I do know he really likes Mea so let's include her". And I haven't come across these pics! And they're so good! I like Mea a lot! I'll be sure to save them! Thank you!
Step 1: Find that perfect girl xD
It's funny how I recognized that I hadn't come across this Nana art and it's been like 7 years since I last searched for To Love Ru art. Though, omg like seriously!! These look so good! Because they look like Nana. You get what I mean? I don' like when character art like doesn't match the original character. So it's always been a struggle lol.
Also, dude I checked pixiv around 2 weeks ago for Nakano Miku art and it only showed me 50 ad they were meh. I don't have an account. But it's kinda strange how I didn't come across any variety like you did. Can you check it?
OMGGG. HOW?? If you had said 300, I'd be like damn that's nice. As I don't think I have that much either for to love ru. But 1500 then 3000?? What sorcery is this lol? Do you like save every nana art even if it's not good or doesn't resemble her?
The ones you attached in the chat are actually amazing!! Like wow I want this kind for other characters! You know the ones I come across like how do I put it , you might have come across those as well. When you see it, they use a same set of face and just other things are different. And you immediately go this is made by AI. Which loses the impact because I want the art to look like the characters. But the ones you attached don't look like that like they weren't by AI which is great.
EDIT: I searched Nakano Miku again but this time I noticed that there was a name appearing in japanese as well. So instead of entering what I wrote, I clicked the Japanese name and it worked. I've never used Pixiv xD.
Indeed, good luck to both of us! We both need it xD.
At this point of time, I feel like almost every game is pay to win. I also sometimes play pubg mobile and this game has skins instead. But I remember playing once using a motorbike skin and guess what? It was more stable than the motorbike with no skin lol. Pay to win is frustrating when it's pvp. In genshin's case, it's not as frustrating because genshin isn't a pvp game. Rather you're against opponents that have a fixed set of patterns that you can perhaps learn and dodge. So genshin's pay to win doesn't feel as frustrating.
Warzone doesn't seem that old though, so I wonder why you can't find a lobby. I have never played it btw xD.
[quoe]Are the characters you have and like region blocked so that you can't use them in the new expansion or am I misunderstanding the fundamental issue?
Hahaha, no they are not. If that were the case, the game would lose money. I know you didn't mean it but imagining the game losing money made me laugh xD.
I'll explain my end game player life in genshin now xD. You reach end game when you max out your Adventure Rank and I maxed it out 2 years ago. Reaching it isn't a big deal as if you do reach it, it just means you played the game often or every day. Not much skill required. Btw, I'm rewriting this section because after I wrote this... I somehow pressed Ctrl+A and Backspace at the same time... and it was all gone. Anyways, my objective is to explain why I felt bored. Second, why I didn't like the new characters.
Genshin's gameplay mostly includes characters you save or pull for and the content that makes you use your characters. In the content section, there are quests, exploration, events and combat challenges. Quests are further broken down into archon quest, story quests, world quests and event quests. I'm one of those players that doesn't play things I don't like or find boring. So I only play archon quests and story quests (last time, I play a story quest was 2 years ago). Archon quests come only once a year. So there is only exploration, events and combat challenges left. I only explore if I have a character I need to save for or I got a new character and now I'm broke. Event over time feel repetitive. And the same goes for combat challenges that reset once a month. So basically, if I'm not looking forward to a next character, there's not much for me to do. And I only pull if I really like them otherwise I skip. This can go for six months or even more. And you can't do similar things for six months straight. So genshin is a game where you actively pull for characters or at least looking forward to pulling some. Otherwise, you run out of content at end-game. Of course, wen there's content it's great. I love archon quests.
As for exploration, it varies with each region. Genshin releases one new region per year. And the last region we got felt like such a big upgrade, I loved it. And then we get a new region which has old exploration theme however with new mechanics. So it felt like a downgrade to me compared to the last one. Also, this time, they've made it so that the new characters have like really fun-to-play gameplays. So they're relying on characters to make the exploration more fun. Which is something I don't like.
Now as for the characters, they are simply not to my liking lol. Also, genshin killed the character I was forwarding to the most which is sad. Anyways, now that I did pull for new characters. They made the new exploration more fun. And it feels refreshing. Once it stops being refreshing, I'll again take a break and return when I'm looking forward to a character. The character I'm looking forward to currently will release around June. Genshin can be really fun and then there are droughts as well.
Considering the competition, I guess it is hard.
The only thing that the majority dislikes about is grinding for the artifacts. And this is something you go through even if you're a whale. They go through the same experience. The only difference is in damage. And the game can b cleared easily with f2p damage. In essence, their damage is unnecessary. So it's not as bad as you think.
Oh boy, if I had replied to this like before Jan 1 regarding my recent genshin experience, it would've been way different. I'll come to the expense part after I describe my experience xD.
So a new version update was due on Jan 1. Before then, my experience was really boring. Why? Because I haven't gotten a new character since August. Basically, I had gone through without a character for almost 5 months. Though, it's not that I was bored with the characters I have. I love the characters I have. The character they had in line since the new region update weren't to my liking. And this kept on going for months. The community liked them a lot. I didn't. Another issue was the change in exploration. Every region has different exploration mechanics. I loved the previous region. I's my favorite. So a change this time felt like a downgrade. Secondly, there's a fatui harbinger cast which I love. And fatui harbinger releases are really big. There are also other casts which also have huge demands. Fatui harbingers are at the peak in my opinion. So when there was news that we won't be getting any fatui harbinger this year, it was a huge letdown. We get introduced to a fatui harbinger member each year. So this was a huge letdown. Basically, there was nothing major for me to look forward to aside from the archon; which I did like but wasn't sure if I would enjoy her.
Now that the new version update's been released. I had been looking forward to the main story quest named the archon quest. And the archon quest of this region was on its finale. And guess what?? They killed the best genshin character there was!! I was looking forward to him so much! I really liked him! He was such a legend... seriously, I can't even complain because it was his decision so I gotta respect his decision. I had been looking forward to him for so many months. And now I'm just sad and confused as to what to expect. He is dead. I can't believe they killed their best character. It's very shocking.
Aside from this, the release had two new characters. One of them being the archon. Archon banners are huge as well. And I ended up pulling for both of them. So now I've gone from taking breaks to being active again. So I'm not bored at all. And I love archon quests. And the game has brought another huge character to be released soon in the game this region. So I'm now looking forward to her.
I only spend 5$ a month. And it's been that way for the past two years. We don't talk about the first year. Anyways, I don't believe it's expensive. 5$ a month is fine. Managing resources is tough. I make tough decisions every often lol. And I'm fine with it. There are people who spend like crazy. But I'm not one of them. I'm one of the few patient ones. I once saved 81k primogems (a currency you spend for pulling characters). 81k primogems are like if you even take first time purchases into account it's equal to 900 US dollars. So I tend to save patiently xD.
Any civil engineering related job xD
Yeah, having spent a lot of money and then it goes offline, that definitely sucks! But I mean you can always choose to not spend. If you have self-control you should be able to do it. But yeah, gacha games prey on our feelings and eventually we may end dropping our guard. So it's good to stay away from gacha games. Genshin's the only gacha game I play... and I don't wanna play gacha games anymore.
Ah yes, what a coincidence! I'm currently searching for a job as well xD! This makes us job searching buddies. No, call us job hunters!
I'm doing good! I already mentioned above what I'm doing hehe. Good luck on finding a job! Don't put it off this time and make sure to get one!
Also, you still don't play genshin, do you?
Also, your profile seems to have gotten emptier compared to my last visit lol.
I wonder how he was in the first series with the different dub.
Haha, I don't think I've even seen a clip of the Snake in English and now I'm curious. I know he's a favorite of yours, and yeah, in Japanese, you never SEE him beyond the voice so it had to leave an impression. Come to think of it, Alastor is pretty underwhelming in the dub from what I remember too. Definitely doesn't sound like what he SHOULD. And Marcosias was very try-hard in English, same as Dantallion.
Japanese almost always trumps English when it comes to higher beings, or those that are supposed to be beyond humanity. Because they can alter the way they speak, just by speaking in a different manner, you come across almost as a wholly different person. The fact in 3, Yuji starts talking in the same way as Snake is proof of that; he barely even still sounds the same when he does that.
By the way, on that note, because it's only mentioned a couple times by Shana "Which one of you is talking?" and even the confusion among the Trinity at times, I'm going to guess that Yuji and the Snake finishing each others' sentences or talking between each other is more so for the viewers and not so much actually happening for the characters. I'm going to guess they hear Yuji's voice (it is his body) but with the Snake's tone and way of speaking, unknowing that the real Yuji is also chiming in more often than not.
That's just how I interpreted it, anyway.
I wonder how it's presented in the Light Novels.
You're going to have to tell me what HOTD is. I have no idea.
I don't even know what to expect by watching that video! I did search around and I saw two characters I haven't the slightest who they are, so who knows!
I would prefer something more visual myself too, but it's worth checking out. If only the people who translate this could translate other things...
Maybe one day.
Yeah, you can! He's right below you on my profile, so read away! He actually had a really good take on the whole Fumina thing that I was actually satisficed with! Guy knows his stuff!
And honestly, having a voice call about Shana sounds like fun! I'm in! Let me know if you can arrange something and tell me when! I'm self-employed so I have a pretty flexible schedule. Don't know if you two are even in the same country, so the time differences might be a hurdle, but so long as it's not 3am to me, I can manage!
You two are the only real ones I've reached out to and then talked in depth from the forum, because I like what you guys were saying! If I had before, it's been for small, brief things, but that's the power of Shana for you!
Let me know what happens!
And haha, yeah, they were pretty blatant there, huh? I mean, it seems like that IS mating for Denizens (at least Denizens and humans), unless it's ever been explicitly stated they could and have actually had physical sex before.
I know there's been a lot of falling in love before between them, but it is also outright explicitly stated that the first true merger was Justus, with Johann and Pheles, but who knows if that counts actual sex.
In any case, what Yuji and Hecate did didn't seem to pique Shaher's interest, haha.
But yeah, to sum up, I think they're totally confused about what they were saying in that clip. "Tyrant" was mentioned before that scene and I think they came up with their own confusing headcanon for it. I'm definitely curious on what sources they used, but it's not anything I'VE found.
I cannot believe how many anime fans default to dubs, and I've actually heard the excuse "WELL, IT'S THE SAME, RIGHT? I DON'T WANT TO READ..!11" And yeah, then they blame all the shit on the dub acting.
Yu Yu Hakusho is a berserk button for me when it comes to English dubs. I absolute hate it when dubs are more well known than the original and when the dubs flat out pointlessly CHANGE everything from it too. Ugh.
I actually had to buy the series officially after trying the Eclipse Subs; I'm sorry but "Tomogara" and the like just made it unwatchable for me. I felt way more confused from them than the official ones too.
So this thing you linked is translated? I took a look; hmm, I need more research because I don't know who these characters are or what this is supposed to be. But still, good find!
And hey, I'd take ANY visuals over none, so I don't mind!
So, she actually loved Wilhelmina. Like, she was one of her favorites. Her thing with Merrihim was confusing to her, but she didn't mind it. Kazumi was actively endangering herself for this one guy and it just drove her crazy when it was clear he wasn't interested and still she won't let it go.
And yeah, it didn't bother me at all, but this is how western women feel, I guess.
Anyway, I'm also talking to your friend GoldenPincers and he gave me his own explanation, so it's always nice to find more of you guys! He said you've both talked for hours about all this too!
My ratings are like that too, but honestly, part of why I fell in love with the series is because of its attention to detail and so just the fact later parts really aren't standalone and I still can't really make absolute sense of them, I had to lower it a bit.
From everything I've read about the Light Novel though, it's just about everything I'd want from the story, so I'm sure even that would go in my favorite book list (aside the elusive Berserk, the only true 10/10 thing I can honestly say deserves it), but alas... at this stage, I cannot. But yeah, still great shit, but it just disappointed me that even coming in knowing as much as humanly possible and paying attention to ENSURE I catch everything, and with my girlfriend to bounce off to boot, I just came off MORE confused -_-
So I had to lower them.
But really, you hate those Mare episodes from II? They are essentially recaps, but they're not awful or anything and I do like how they incorporate Mare from her sidestory into the series, set up the Keeper on the MLC, and even bring her up again with Sabrac. It definitely was a little fanservice-y though.
And yeah, I know EastEdge and the rest all do say eventually, but you're also just supposed to know "The Gods of the Earth" aren't really Gods on par with Alastor or Snake, and it's just their own Native terms they use. And I still was like "THAT BARTENDER IS ONE??? WHAT?" It was just kinda weird.
The third series was obviously made for intimate fans of the Light Novel in Japan, because they don't really explain a lot of stuff you're just supposed to know. Once I *read* said stuff on my own, I got it, but man, I've never seen such a "read between the lines" series in my life. It's like it was made specifically for fans who already know it and they didn't have enough time to really fully elaborate on it at all. 3 is definitely the worst offender of it.
And, no, no, I'm not saying I wish Shana S didn't have those episodes as well. I agree, the last two especially were pretty great, but why didn't they ALSO include Eternal Song? It's a critical part of the story to the point it even gets referenced again and again in 3, so it really should've been shown. That S series would've been the perfect place for it. And, what, 5 volumes with a lot of it being action? 13 episodes probably would've been enough too.
I still just wonder with how popular Shana is in Japan, and with how anime is always looking for more content, why TO THIS DAY, it still hasn't been tackled. It baffles me to no end.
Speaking of stuff in the LN after the season 3, on the wikia, apparently I've heard that there are audio dramas? So I guess the voice actors did some acting to at least bring those to some sort of life, even if it is just through imagination. So maybe they already do exist?
Again, Japan gets everything. You get less than scraps as an English speaking Shana fan.
Well... my girlfriend is well versed on shojo manga; it was a lot of her past. So Yuji drove her insane with how oblivious he was to Kazumi and Shana (and she really hated how he always made Shana feel). She cared a lot about Shana and agreed with her, so while she understood what he was doing, she fundamentally just shook her head at his method and how seemingly without awareness he always continued to be.
And Kazumi, to her, she was just "that girl" you always see in shojo that she couldn't stand. I did see her point in a way too; I mean, realistically, she's like 16, very pretty, with another boy confirmed (and who knows how much more) into her, with a brother, dog, and full family, yet for SOME REASON, she's not only willing to die for this ONE boy who barely even acknowledges or who is just too nice to say no, she just could not sympathize with her feelings. It is a bit crazy too, when I put it like that to me too.
Like even after the Snake of the Festival pretty much tells her he chose Shana, she's STILL enamored with him. It's anime, yeah, but, yeah, kinda insane.
Margery, she was just really off-put with her getting involved with a literal 16 year old. And yeah, she could never get back in her good graces after that. That was just too much. The only other girl I've watched Shana with had the same reaction.
