The main protagonists share a similar goal of utilizing their magic to help people, yet the manner in which one becomes a full fledged witch differs between the two.

Our protagonists embark on an adventure despite their weaknesses, to become that idol that inspired him to move forward with his dreams. Enter a school where will meet people with powers, where will discover your own power.

Simple and short fantasy movies with inspiration from Western witch tales. Pretty visuals and a cool soundtrack to boot. I found Little Witch Academia very enjoyable while Burn the Witch was a disappointment but who knows, you might like it.

Both of these are about a girl that is pretty normal and they both get thrown into different worlds that they are used to. They are both from Trigger, and share same type of humor and art style. There is even spin off episode in Uchuu Patrol Luluco, when they get to meet Sucy from Little Witch Academia.

It's about magic, witches, wizards, academy of magic, and the main girl is bulled for something, both girls are pretty bad with the magic lessons.

Litte Witch Academia and Flip Flappers are similar because they are both very great original and imaginative anime that follow young girls as they learn more about themselves and overcome trials. There are supernatural events in both of them that are partially responsible for the growing friendship of the main characters. They also both have beautifully distinct and simplistic color schemes that you won't see in other anime. Both are relatively light-hearted and can be watched by a wide variety of viewers.

Bishounen Tanteidan features the same energy as LWA, only more, descriptive, solid plot points. It's about a group of detectives who take on small cases, and even a hit-an-run case at the end. The plot is detailed, decisive, and descriptive, while keeping the childish and happy-go-lucky antics.

Very cute, Disney-esque short film. Doesn't get into too much depth, but it's got that Disney flair that Ghibli managed to pull off. Great animation too.

Both series are about witches learning spells, magic, and charms as they discover the mystery, darkness, and beauty of their charming yet sinister and well-developed world.

Both Howl's Moving Castle and LWA are whimsical adventures, full of magic and wonder. Little Witch Academia is one of the best franchises of the decade and I can see fans of Miyazaki enjoying it immensely.

Both protagonists are witches who go to a magical school and ride broomsticks.

It has a similar style... More than an anime, it feels like a cartoon. Charming characters and a creative set-up. It is also from the same creator

Alright so hear me out on this one: the animation styles are VERY similar (look at "Death" and "Sucy") (despite being "Bones" V "trigger") both have humor that are very similar and both have a fairy tale, magical, supernatural part to them. Both are focused on an academy to train the kids in (whatever it is they do). Best way i can describe it is if Soul Eater and harry potter had a baby...?

Soreyuke! Gedou Otometai and Little Witch Academia are both about a group of witches that are learning how to use magic. The characters in Little Witch Academia are studying at an academy and the characters in Gedou Otometai are sisters

Solving problems with magic? Yes Super cute & funny? yes Both shows have energetic protagonist who must use the power of magic and overcome problems in their friendships. Similar carefree, family friendly vibe.

An all-girls Magic Academy. They study there aiming to be more powerful while enduring training and competitions to judge their potential.

Both involve young witches-in-training and have a clumsy protagonist. Stylized artwork

I'm surprised this recommendation hasn't been made yet, but alas. The basic thing that makes these anime so alike is the fact that they're both magical girl Anime(Or movie in Little Witch's case) about witches. Although I won't say it's the same, it does resemble each other, as well as it has dissimilarities with each other. For example: (Similarity) - The main female character isn't popular at her school. (Dissimilarity) - Sugar Sugar rune takes place on a school that is meant for humans, while Little witch does take place on a school for witches.

Both series have a normal girl attending a school for witches and end up fighting fantastic beings and unlocking their true potential

Both stories are about young witches, and feature an ordinary human girl who ends up in a magical world (Arusu) / school (LWA).

The protagonist Akko and Koto have similar energetic personalities that help them persevere. The action also has a similar amazing fluidity and motion to it. Little Witch Academia is a far simpler story, but they both contain ultimately uplifting themes, and should be watched.
