Haha, my reaction wasn't exactly manly if that is what you want to know.
Probably silver for me. I started off with yellow because I was 6 and wanted pikachu to follow me around, but silver was the glory days in my eyes. Not a huge fan of the additional features in the newer games. Sprinkle in some nostalgia of the field trip pokemon bus battles when i was in elementary school and its pretty much a done deal for silver being my favorite.
Although I recently purchased soul silver and am enjoying that very much. Still getting used to the changes from the original but it is definitely a fun game.
I don't know if its good per say, but my childhood nostalgia has ramped it up several levels. I used to read them at my library when i was a little kid and thought they were the coolest thing ever. It was a nice change of pace to the other pokemon stories out there, or atleast at the time. You should check it out and let me know how much nostalgia is carrying the series in my mind :)
