Main theme of the supernatural and other occult occurrences in both series but Ghost Hunt has a more eerie feel and less comedic situation than Ghost Stories. Ghost Stories focuses more on Japanese supernatural and folklore while Ghost Hunt on murders and some para-psychology ideas.

The lead characters have inherited a book that belonged to their deceased mother/grandmother and that it has something to do with ghosts, spirits and the like. :)

These are two of the funniest dubs out there. Both are episodic and rely heavily on gags and quips, and both succeed at making you laugh like a madman. Great liberties were willingly extended to the dubbing production of Ghost Stories by the Japanese creators, and these were taken with gusto. Don't miss either of these comedic gems!

Kids' shows turned comedies. ADV rewrote Ghost Stories and FUNimation rewrote Crayon Shin-chan for Adult Swim. Both dubs are packed with political incorrectness and comical one-liners.

a group of kids involved with ghosts and spirits. both series only have a small amount of horror but still entertaining to watch

Jigoku sensei nube and Gokkou no kaidan similar with paranormal and about ghost stories in japan.. and both have a comedy too and about school too.

Both shows follow young school students who are investigating the paranormal activity going on at their school. Both shows have great humour (if you're watching the dub version of "Ghost stories" of course). In both shows, there's a friend group that shares a unique dynamic. Both stories have paranormal activity and involve wildly known Japanese myths and urban legends.

Both feature a group who face evil spirits. In Gakkou no Kaidan, Amanojaku is a sealed spirit that helps the protagonists to face ghosts, just as in Dark Gathering the sealed spirits help the protagonists.

When it comes to legendary dubs, Hajimete no Gal follows a similar story. Bombed in japan, dub studio given near complete freedom to do what they want.

They are flawed animes from the early 2000's that are still remembered to this day for their funny English Dubs.

Both are horror series with tinges of black comedy (intentional or otherwise).

both are anime in which the main characters solve cases related to apparitions or ghosts

Official spoofs. Magical Heart Kokoro-chan was an April Fools' Day joke and is one big memefest making fun of everyone's least favorite harem, School Days, in a magical-girl-gone-wrong fashion. If you liked (or at least could tolerate) School Days, this is the official spoof you never asked for yet probably wanted. Ghost Stories was an anime that did so poorly in Japan that, in a desperate bid to not lose money, the producers let the American licensors do almost anything they wanted with the dub, and they chose to make the equivalent of an abridged series. Also technically a parody but don't worry, you don't  read more

If you are watching the ADV dub, expect some ridiculous cringey dialog thrown in. Infamously, Ghost Stories is far more original and adventurous with its dialog. But I can't help but feel that a lot of Elfen Lied was "enhanced" as well.

If you watched one for the "Abridged Series" vibe early 2000s goofy dub, then you'll likely enjoy the other. Lupin III part 2 is an episodic series and it doesn't matter what order you watch it but know that only the first 79 episodes were dubbed!

Both have a hilarious and arguably better English dub that has a completely different script. They especially uses edgy jokes and offensive language that wouldn’t fly by today’s standards.

Although the two are very different in terms of the tone, they are both about ghost stories. They are both semi or at least semi-episodic. Ayakashi is aimed at an older audience than Ghost Stories. They also have an element of mystery solving with the different stories.

Both the Ghost Stories Dub and A Sister's All You Need both have infamously offensive comedy (scenes) that will make you either immediately drop or laugh out loud! Although some may disagree, both shows are self-aware enough to not condone their actions/dialogue and the characters sometimes get punished for it. Although seemingly degenerate, each show have parody themes that mock stereotypes by stereotyping the offenders. Creative and subversive.

ecchi and ghosts. But Gakkou no Kaidan is good.

Both dubs are comedic/a parody, rather than a true translation of the original show.

Both shows take the original Japanese script and give it a complete revamp. However, Ghost Stores takes it to the extreme--probably more than Keroro!

Gakkou no Kaidan is the horror version of Cardcaptor Sakura. Two girl protagonists who lost their moms when they were very young encounter the supernatural during the school and have to fight it with a creature that guides them on how to do so. Sakura is the cute and childish version of the story, with Sakura catching all the Clow Cards, and Gakkou no Kaidan is the scary version with Satsuki putting all the dangerous ghosts into spiritual sleep. Both series revolve around phenomena that managed to escape from their seals and must be sealed again.

Both Tesagure! Bukatsumono Encore and the dubbed English release of Gakkou no Kaidan feature heavy amounts of improvised comedy by the VAs. The dialogue is ad libbed in both to such an extent a number of episodes of each barely adhere to anything resembling a script at all.

When I first started watching Gakkou no Kaiden, the general theme really reminded me of Haunted Junction. I only watched the sub of Gakkou no Kaiden so I can't be sure but having seen clips of the dub, the humour between the Gakkou no Kaiden dub and Haunted Junction seem to be similar. As far as the sub goes Haunted Junction is a lot more comedy based but I personally think they're similar in a couple ways, though I enjoyed Gakkou no Kaiden much more.

The same setting about horror in school, even the plot and story is different. but its worth to be wached.

Both are meta humor about their respective show/franchise that were funny and unexpectedly on the nose with their humor. Had me asking what on earth I was watching but in a good way. Do need to a F/GO fan to fully appreciate Manga de Wakaru! Whereas Ghost Stories is for anyone.

The infamous English dubs of these two shows can be described in many ways: atrocious, inconsistent, LOUD, overly dramatic, incomprehensible ghibberish, BUT ABOVE ALL, hilarious. The only reason to watch these shows is the for the dub, so if you found either of the dubs consistently hilarious, you'll find plenty of enjoyment and quotable lines in the other. Without the dub as their saving grace, these shows would remain the garbage that they are.
