Area no Kishi

Both shows are very similar. Also in both shows the main heroine plays soccer well.  

To start things off, both of series' are about soccer. The main characters, Aizawa Kakeru (Area no Kishi) and Kazamatsuri Shou (Whistle!) are determined to become the best players they possibly can. They are held back only by their lack of skills and being undersized for their positions (Strikers). They both admire the ace players on their squad, being Araki Ryuuichi (Area no Kishi) and Mizuno Tatsuya (Whistle!). The stories are surprisingly quite similar. If you enjoyed Area no Kishi than Whistle! should be just as, if not more, enjoyable. 

Both soccer anime. If you like Whitle! you'll like Area no Kishi. 

They are both soccer anime but best believe you don't have to like soccer to watch them. They are filled with inspiration, it is all about working hard and getting better to make it the top. Talent isn't everything, that's exactly what these to series teach us. You have to watch it to find out the rest! :) 

It's also a soccer anime. 

All the characters carry a heavy burden that can only be lifted by friends and the whole team. It gets intense for feelings get mixed in the game. Taking that the feelings are the burden they try to put a fake smile on their face.

i really love both animes. cross game i was a little hesitant to watch but i am so glad i did. in the first few episodes i noticed that area no kishi and cross game were kinda similar. for one a loved one dies. for two because of that loved one dying they are later spurred to do something to that that dead loved one would be proud of. three romance. four they are based on sports so teamwork is another. the downside of watching area no kishi is that you'll fall in love with it to become heartbroken that there isn't another season aired or planed to be aired. i know feel like i should rewatch area no kishi..... read more 

Different sport (cross game -> baseball; area no kishi -> soccer), but same feeling to the plot: a player trying to make a loved one (and his) dream come true. Among these two, I would say cross game has better characters, but if you like this, probably will like the other too.

Both Area no Kishi and Giant Killing deal with soccer. However Giant Killing is told through the perspective of the coach, Tatsumi Takeshi, whereas Area no Kishi follows the journey of an up an coming player, Aizawa Kakeru. If you enjoyed Area no Kishi than I highly recommend, Giant Killing. Both funny and suspenseful, it will keep you entertained throughout.  

Giant Killing is also an anime about a guy who hasn't been very good at soccer Both anime are about reviving a team A new coach takes over for the school in both anime The main character is athletic, but doesn't have polished skills in both  

Although both series presents different set of sports, they have a lot of similarities hence this recommendation. *Both series has the sports theme that takes place at a school setting *Both series' main protagonists are known to have exceptional talent at the sport they play in *Both series' main female protagonist plays the role of a character that holds influence on the teams *Both series contain a lot of drama, comedy, and presents realism in sports *Both series has real life strategies that are employed in the anime  

By far, the most similar sports anime to Kuroko no Basuke is Area no Kishi. Obviously, the whole Generation of Miracles dilemma isn't there but they still have a similar feel and similar humor. Lots of focus on one main team - including their training camps, progress and practice games. Lots of "superpower"-like sports and the team has many similar character tropes. 

Both shows feature distinct schools and characters with unique play styles Both of the main characters develop into better players throughout the show I would say more but don't want to accidentally spoil anything. The shows give off a very similar feel as the characters and teams develop and overcome challenges. 

Although the sport involved in both series are different, Area no Kishi and Haikyuu shares a variety of similarities. These include the concept of teamwork, strategy, and gameplay that are seen in competitions. The main male protagonist is part of a team and dedicates himself to become someone to be respected. Throughout both series, they discover and unlock their potential as they face powerful adversaries. Both series also employ character dynamics and relationship development. There is also no superpower gimmick in both series. Rather, it relies on strategic teamplay crafted by the mechanics of the rules. Recommended for anyone interested into sports with realism. 

- The drama between the game and the characters is really intense and makes nice anime and creates an interesting climate that gives more desire to watch the anime! - Both animes are about football - The stories and the main characters are very similar - Also both are very funny!!

Both gives the similar feel. MC's are relatable (weak to strong as they gain experience). Decent story line. Similar character development. Both MC's play similar position. Female character in both anime supports the MC. In both anime, MC is chasing after a particular target. Both MC's have a unique skill which they hone through efforts. 

Both deal with soccer and the love of the game. Aoki Denetsu Shoot! is superior in my opinion but I recommend giving both a shot.  

Both have a slight romance with a very supportive female love interest.
