Ok now bare with me on this one: Similarities: +both are Reverse Harems (although skip beat typically isn't seen as a reverse harem so this is more my opinion on this one) +both have someone betray/ use them and swear to get over it by becoming stronger. +this is a small thing, but they both have a sort of smart side character that sort of shakes their head when one of the main love interest's feelings are not conveyed. This guy is the smart planning type of person. I won't say who these characters are, but maybe after watching the two series, you'll also come to the same conclusion +the main love interest can not convey his emotions to the girl, Differences +Akatsuki no Yona's setting is set in the past +Yona is treated like royalty all her life while Kyoko was of low-class status +in Akatsuki no Yona the boys around treat her lovingly and look out for her. While in Skip beat one of the primary love interests practically hates her for a long time. +in skip beat when Kyoko plans to get stronger after being betrayed, her means of doing so is through acting. while Yona seeks more physical and mental strength, as well as the power to help her people and gathering the "dragons" to do all this. +Kyoko isn't as mellow per say as Yona is? She gets really angry sometimes while Yona would probably get depressed. That's not saying that Yona is not a strong character, it is just that she gets stronger over time. While Kyoko is immediately strong due to hatred towards the one that has betrayed her, Yona is strong when she cares for someone else or knows she has to something for the benefit of the whole. +driving force behind the plot Yona of Akatsuki no Yona: to protect herself Kyoko of Skip Beat: for revenge Hopefully, this was helpful.
