It's all good don't worry lmao but yeah I'm more active on discord so that works if you prefer. Feel free to dm me your user so I can add you (sorry for not responding to ur email also lol)
I also finished the season 1 One Punch Man specials at the gym earlier and I thought they were hilarious! I loved how every episode had Genos and Saitama. I really wished they were longer! I knocked out the season 2 ones when I got home and they were alright. There was only one episode that I liked and it was one where Genos gets memory loss. I recommend giving that one a watch at least if you haven't seen those ones yet.
I might just say fuck it and start watching it later today. I have no idea what to watch right now and more One Punch Man episodes wouldn’t hurt. But damn bruh you haven’t responded in a minute I thought I pissed you off with that last post. Shit had me stressing all weekend ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
Jokes aside though, please let me know if my posts do become a bother or if you prefer any other means of communication :)
Nooo I forgot to watch the OVAs. The site I used didn’t have them but I think I can find them on another site. Think they're still worth the watch? Although I did like the Mashle seasons more, I’m definitely more of a One Punch Man fan now that I am caught up with the manga (this can turn around tho since I haven't finished reading Mashle yet). I think I preferred the fights on there more compared to the OPM anime for sure. Like Mash was actually throwing hands and not just dodging the whole time, you know? The Mashle anime definitely had me dying more, especially that part where bro moves his legs really fast to be able to fly in that Broom flying tournament lmfao
When I was watching the 1st season, I thought the show was kinda meh at first and what kept me going was Genos for a bit ngl. However, near the end of the deap sea king monster arc, there was this scene after Saitama beat him that completely changed my mind on the show.
There was someone in the crowd that talked shit about the heroes, saying:
"That monster wasn't so tough after all, a Class C hero beat it in one punch! Those titles don't matter at all!", "all those heroes did was buy us some time, anyone can do that!", "They didn't do anything heroic at all, they died for nothing!"
Saitama picked up on those comments and started laughing saying "Today's my lucky day! The other heroes wore the monster down so beating it was child's play! Good thing I was late, I barely did anything and now I get to take all the credit." Saitama then turns to the crowd and tells them to spread the word of him beating sea king and threatens to beat them up if they say he only won because he showed up late. Bro tops it all with a final comment saying to take care of the fallen heroes so he can continue to cash in on their work๐๐๐
That was such a powerful scene for me and it showed how good of a person Saitama really is. He was willing to go that far to make sure the hero association continued. This pretty much kept me hooked and season 2 was so fire with the introduction of Garou and King (the true goat of the show lmao).
But yeah thanks for recommending it to me. I never caught up to a manga so fucking fast lol I also really enjoyed that Mashle series you recommended me as well!
Ahh I see. Sorry for my late response as well, I rely on my email for notifications and my phone has been iffy with that. Yeah if you're more into the action stuff, you wouldn't really like it then. However, if you have nothing else to watch and are in the mood for a slice of life, I recommend giving it a shot. I decided to watch it on a whim and I ended up enjoying it a lot!
I'm pretty much on the same boat as you right now lmao I still got a lot to watch and a bunch of them aren't even on Crunchyroll. If I come across anything new that you may like, I'll make sure to let you know as well. That sucks about the Roze code geass, saw some really dope clips on YouTube but I'll take your word for it on the series not being as good. Oh I just finished watching Dr. Stone earlier today! That season was really fun to watch. I just started the apothecary diaries and I already love Maomao as a character lmao
As for Barakamon, I highly recommend giving it a watch. It's about a 23-year-old professional calligrapher who moves to an island away from Tokyo, after a physical altercation with a director from a calligraphy contest, in order to improve himself as a person and work on his calligraphy skills. He meets a whole new lively community of people who helps the struggling calligrapher with finding new inspirations for his work and learning valuable life lessons along the way. This anime did a great job on balancing its comedy and emotional moments. Also for a 12 episode anime, it had a pretty satisfying conclusion. I would love to hear your thoughts on it if you ever get into it :)
Ohhh Apothecary Diaries has been on my "plan to watch" for a while now. I do gotta catch up on the new Code Geass stuff and Dr. Stone as well. I was confused when you said "I know you didn't like the show as much" but then I saw that I rated it a 7 ๐. I rewatched the first season a while back and forgot to change my rating but that show was definitely a masterpiece.
I do enjoy comedy every now and then, I just finished watching Handa-kun which is a comedy prequel to the anime Barakamon. I rated it a bit low because, compared to Barakamon, there was a lot less character growth in it. Regardless, it was still a fun watch. I'm down to give One Punch Man a shot, I avoided it for a while cuz I thought it would be boring due to Saitama being really OP. I'll definitely check these out though. I'll start off with Dr. Stone and make my way through all these.
Thanks for the recommendations! If you come across any new anime you like, feel free to let me know :D
Honestly a 6 might've been a more accurate score. And yeah sorry about the long review lmao I had to quickly write down my thoughts before I forgot anything important. Steins gate 0? Probably not. I think I need a break from all that time travel bs right now. I've just been watching whatever pops up in my recommended in crunchyroll so far. If you got any recommendations, I'm down to give em a shot. I got like nothing to watch rn and could use something nice for my cardio days :)
Hi Mint! It's been a while so I hope all has been well! I just came to tell you that I finished Stein's Gate (finally lmao). I'm not gonna lie, I struggled on finishing it. I remember getting to like episode 6 and just taking a long break from watching it. After I finished watching that one deer girl comedy anime, I decided to finally focus on it.
So here are my thoughts on it (Sorry in advance for the yapping):
Looking at simply the anime's cover, I expected the mc to be more of the serious and intelligent type. So those first couple episodes absolutely caught me off-guard when I see this dude going off about some secret organization going after him and having the stupid evil laugh lol. The show itself started off pretty strong with the death of Makise Kurusu, but then it kinda lost me when Okabe just straights up forgets about that and decides to work on that whole D-Mail nonsense (You saw home-girl stabbed, grope her when you see her alive again, and just go on about your day?). What bothered me the most though was Okabe openly talking about the damn machine to everyone he meets. Not the best idea, when there's this apparent secret organization trying to find him...
For the next few episodes, it showed Okabe helping his new friends fulfill some of their wishes and regrets through the usage of the D-Mail machine. It was nice and all, but it got really boring for me.
As I was slowly losing interest on the show, they decide to kill off Mayuri. That's when the show finally became peak for me. I was seeing bro slowly lose his mind at trying to save his childhood friend from dying. He later realizes that her death gets pushed back a day everytime he undos one of the D-Mails. With the help of Makise, he undos all of them just to find out that it didn't prevent her death at all. The real cause was the very first D-Mail. The one that prevented Makise's death in the very beginning. We then see Okabe and Makise confess to each other and accept the fact that Makise must die to fix the timeline. They kiss and Okabe goes to commence the time leap.
I absolutely loved this moment btw. I was getting ready to accept this as the show's ending only to find out that there were two more episodes...
Amane Suzuha makes a return to tell Okane that he still has to save the world from it's dystopian future. Okabe sees the time machine and understandably says fuck off with all that time travel bullshit. But then Suzuha says "What if I told you that the way to save the world, is by preventing Makise from dying?"
... huh?
So they go back in time to the beginning and Okabe accidentally kills Makise after throwing hands with her father. Our mad scientist is broken once more so Suzuha pulls out some future recording from an older Okabe. Future Okabe tells Current Okabe that he can still save Makise as long as he meets the following criteria: Okabe must see Makise in a pool of blood. Current Okabe gets motivation once again and goes for round 2. He lets himself get stabbed by Makise's father and then he knocks out Makise to make her fall in his pool of blood. This moment somehow causes her father to lose his documents of the time machine in some fire. Okabe successfully reaches Stein's Gate and reaches his dream timeline where all his friends are alive and well.
... Ok then.
So aside from the boring start and disney ending we got, I thought this anime was pretty good for what it was. It was entertaining and I genuinely laughed at some moments. However, due to a lot of writing flaws and missed potential, the highest score I can give this anime is a 7.
But enough about my thoughts. I know it may have been a while since you've seen it, but what did you think of it?
Yeah its an anime held in really high regard so I hope it's not overhyped or anything like that. Same thing happened to me with Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Everyone in my circle absolutely loved it, but it didn't really hit the same for me. Here's to hoping it's a good one!
Ohhh I completely forgot about Sk8. I remember my friends saying good things about it so it may be worth the watch one of these days. So far I've been catching up on some anime from this season like "No Longer Allowed in Another World." It's a pretty cool take on the isekai genre so far. Instead of the usual "Go kill the demon king and save the world!" plot, we have the MC go against other corrupt heroes whom were also transported to that world. I recommend it if you got nothing else to watch and are in the mood for some dark comedy. Once I finish catching up on the others I'm interested in, I'm thinking about finally starting Steins Gate. God knows I've been putting that one off for a long ass time.
Oh shoot forgot to say that I finally finished the public school arc last night! It was really refreshing seeing Ciel hang around with more people near his age. Loved the plays he did in the cricket tournament and how he dealt with that pretty boy who was using everyone in his house to get more love from the prefects. Such a great season! Have you read the manga? I'm thinking about getting into it now.
The movies were really enjoyable. I enjoyed Book of Murder mainly because I’m already a sucker for murder mysteries. Book of the Atlantic was phenomenal! I loved the animation and art plus the story was really entertaining. My favorite part was when Elizabeth became a badass sword master outta no where ๐
Yup starting it later today! I got spoiled on Snake joining the squad due to Crunchyroll not having book of murder. Saw bro in a butler suit hanging around with Ciel and I was like wtf lmao. Glad I went back to see Ciel recruit him tho, Ciel is getting way too good at lying holy shit.
