Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Season 3

Though he has successfully repelled the latest Wave of Catastrophe, Naofumi Iwatani—the Shield Hero—has no time to rest. Naofumi is spurred back into action when Queen Mirelia Q Melromarc tells him that the three other Cardinal Heroes have disappeared without a trace, and she tasks him with finding them.

With no clues regarding their whereabouts, Naofumi tackles a more pressing issue: the worsening slave trade of demi-humans. Determined to right this injustice, he and his friends find their way to Zeltoble, the country of mercenaries, where the illegal sale of demi-humans has become a lucrative business. To gather money to free the slaves, Naofumi and his comrades disguise themselves and take part in underground coliseum brawls, purposely throwing matches to manipulate the odds and eventually secure an enormous payout. However, with the threat of another Wave of Catastrophe looming on the horizon, the Shield Hero must stick to his mission of finding the missing heroes if he wants to protect those he loves.

Well, good news everyone ! A slight improvement in animation . Baby steps,but we are getting there. Maybe in season 4 we'll get something even better.I do hope so myself. Now.... The story.... Honestly, contrary to what the masses are telling you, i honestly think story-wise season 3 is the worst . Simply because it reuses some plot points both from season 1 and season 2, before gettin to the actually new stuff. A second sacred beast just after the first went down ? And so much time of respite between them with no more waves? Ehhh.... ? Honestly i wished for the underground arena ... thing to last more as well. Although it recovers after that with more lore on the parralel worlds. Wanted to get more info on those 2 fellas .Also ... the sole survivor of an entire world... Big stuff . And showing that sometimes playing hero isn't really favorable , with Myne messing with all the other heroes and all, nice ! But honestly... i didn't want to see any sort of redemption from these punks. Would've made a far more compelling point to join forces with heroes from other worlds, and forget about the ones in their world. I guess that's a negative for the other worlds being introduced heh.... Even still, everything else was still good, and i still can't wait for the next season, so they indeed recovered.

Mixed Feelings

Frankly, this season had some very good ideas. For example, the idea of showing each hero failing in their role to create a parallel with Naofumi, or returning to a more impulsive aspect of our hero at the end of the season, these are very good ideas. The problem is that the execution doesn't follow. If I take the example of the heroes who fail, it's already very unsubtle, with the characters feeling obliged to explain everything out loud without letting the viewer hint at anything, but above all, it's the same reasons that lead them to failure 3 times (and even 4 if you ... count the case of Naofumi in season 1), the same sequence of events that resolves the situation at breakneck speed, and the same person who causes their downfall. In other words, it's mega-redundant. What's more, the fact that Mine is responsible for the 3 catsatrophes makes no sense at all, given that she's been proven guilty of manipulation and treachery in front of everyone, but they're still trying to make you believe that the heroes don't know about it or are stupid enough to believe her, when in fact she's not even subtle in her manipulations (just a “you're too strong, only I understand you, bg” is enough). And it's a pity, because that's what almost every idea is, overhauled and poorly executed.

Really, this anime is the perfect illustration that having a good idea isn't enough, and that you have to apply it properly or it becomes a bad idea.But it's still drinkable and it managed to pique my curiosity at the end, so I'm still curious to see season 4.

Honestly, it was painful to watch until the end, even though there is a dubbed version in my native language, which helps a lot. I didn't like it, and if there is anything to praise, it is that the animation is not bad, but it is also nothing special. It is terrible in all other aspects for a good animation with such a proposal; both the story, development, speed, dramatization, fights, motivations, all of this has been losing ground since the first season and finally in this season I no longer want to see the next season.

Is the story unique? No.
Predictable in the good things ... and unpredictable in the bad, so it only got right on what we see in every generic adventure anime right. The characters don't even have a defined personality, and in one episode they can be very intelligent and brave and in the next stupid and cowardly.

Did the characters react to the situations and events in a realistic way?
Not at all, especially considering its instability, especially when it comes to the heroes of the story themselves. There's so much drama for a simple and boring solution that it makes them seem so stupid that it's no longer possible to relate emotionally, whether through empathy or mirroring.

Do you think others will like it, even if you didn't like it?
For someone to like this series, they must have been into it from the beginning, used the characters' names as nicknames in games, made fan drawings of them, bought action figures, posters, manga collections, etc. Only with an emotional and ego attachment would you not feel like an idiot for having spent time, money and feelings on this franchise to actually say that you liked it.
