Alderamin is a far superior attempt at the show that "Genius Prince" tries to be.

Similar story with similar male leads, really lovely female leads (though I like Erika just a bit more), great art and wonderful soundtracks (Ookami shoujo just has a nice piano theme and ambiance but Ao Haru Ride's entire soundtrack is utterly magical). Ao Haru Ride is basically Ookami Shoujo but with a less Sado-masochistic couple and nicer soundtrack. Personally I prefer Ookami Shoujo though, but both are nice. Also, Ookami Shoujo has better ending.

- Both shows are about war, in a pre-modern environment and approach it in a more or less realistic way. - Both showcase the perspective of the common soldiers and the hardships and loss they endure. - Both shows also deeply involve battle strategy and emphasize the impact that leadership of armies can have. - The MC in Nejimaki and the MC in Kingdom are both great generals in the making. - Both shows have a member of the royal family saved by the MC. - In both cases, the young and comparatively powerless member of the royal family take a special interest in the MC and predict his rise to greatness as a general. The main difference is the personality of the Main character. In Nejimaki, the MC doesn't want to be a hero, while in Kingdom, the MC can't think of anything except becoming one.

Both really funny slice of life anime which seem to be episodic, but sneakily end up with genuinely endearing stories about companionship, with good character development and get you attached to deep, interesting characters. Both have a lovely end and a similar feel. As well as good lessons to take away. Both contain some level of reference to anime and manga culture, if not otaku culture. Differences: - Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou( literally "Daily lives of High School Boys") is about high school boys and adolescence while Danna Ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken is about married life. - Danshi Koukousei is longer(20 minutes vs 3 minutes) and is arguably funnier. Danna ga Nani makes up for it by being sweeter.

The feel of these two shows is eerily familiar, and especially till the end. They are both thinking animes with lots of complex themes and dramatic moments that take place within a nail-biting struggle between two highly compelling and highly intelligent sides as they wage a war where ideologies may be similar, but ends aren't. Both have a genius criminal with arguably just ends but who use horrible(and brutally efficient) methods to achieve it. Both antagonists are maniacs who want to rid the society of an evil that the viewer identifies and is familiar with, so their cause can often be identified with, and so choosing the villain or protagonist is not so easy. Both also have a side of detectives fighting to preserve order and condemning the criminal's methods for his better world, even if they agree to hate the evil he is indirectly fighitng to destroy. Both have a bit of corruption and internal turmoil among the side of the detectives. Both anime play very lightly with the lives of characters, and the deaths are almost always the result of a long and elaborate game of wits, which involves a lot of nail-biting possibilities, and apprehension. They deaths are very visceral in both and leave an impression on both you and the characters.

Both have a cast of strong leads(although Steins;gate gets the edge in character interaction), are thought-provoking with a very intricate and well-thought out plot, in the middle of which the lives of certain characters are ended, serving as a driving force for others, an overreaching power as a villain which the cast does not know about immediately and oh, both involve time as an important part of the plot. Also, The two have certain plot holes too you will have to overlook but if you can ignore the ones in Steins;gate, you won't mind the ones in ZnT, and vice versa.

Shingeki no Kyojin

Both anime deal with the human condition being slowly crushed under the weight of an enormous threat that wages genocide on them seemingly without reason. TTGL however is much less visceral and more lighthearted although possessing just as much testosterone-filled action and determination to succeed against all odds. TTGL is also a deconstruction of the mecha genre and anime in general. It is a semi-parody(in classic Gainax style) but also includes a fair amount of drama, good characters and serious plot. The war presented in TTGL does have its deeper moments, and great twists brought about by the characters and their reactions to the escalating challenges they face... but nowhere near as much as SNK. Shingeki no Kyojin is a much darker anime, with a much more present sense of hopelessness and is primarily psychological, a deconstruction of the human condition. It depicts much more hopelessness, fear, selfishness, betrayal, loss, and suffering. I would rate SNK being the better of the two however
