My guidelines for rating anime
10. The cream of the crop, anime that takes risks and manages to be great and excel at what it does. Personal attachment to the characters a in my 10s, as what I like the most in anime is the characters.
9. Already a favorite of sorts. Emotional attachment is a thing.
8. Exceptionally good. These do takes some kind of risk or do something more with the characters/story.
7. Good, but safe. Shows that doesn't really have a lot of mistakes and are, by most points, good, but at the same time they don't take many risks. Most comedies and typical SoL I like end up here.
6. Above average. It shines in some aspect, but it never really manages to be all that good. Normally has some clear problems.
5. Average. Nothing too special about these, mostly okay but forgettable or generic anime.
4. Below average. Not awful, but not exactly good either. It has some strong points; it can be a case of "not for me". Dances between bad and decent.
3. Could have been good or had a good start, ends up failing in most aspects anyway.
2. Still awful, but with some kind of redeeming quality (animation most of the time, decent premise or start).
1. Awful, forgettable, no redeeming quality. This shouldn't exist.
