Both set in a socially problematic Brit(ish vs. annia) Empire with haughty nobles. Both are about a noble goal using "wrong" methods. Both have an intelligent protagonist.

In both of these, a guy is building a harem. Depending on your definition of dark, both of these qualify. Both of these also work as "so bad its good".

Shironeko Project: Zero Chronicle

Both shows draw heavy inspiration from Shakepeare's Romeo and Juliet while mixing in heavy fantasy elements and taking place (partially) on a floating island that somehow eventually becomes involved in the plot. The main difference seems to be how many episodes did each one get to tell the same story.

Both of these titles revolve around food. The difference is that Shokugeki has a lot more to offer, in that not only will it touch ramen, it will touch a large number of other dishes. It also touches cooking and not just eating it. However, the character development of Shokugeki will feel more like standard fare, since, it is a shounen. Koizumi on the other hand is specialized to Ramen only. It also primarily focuses on eating and loving it rather than talk about how to cook it. Also to note: whereas Koizumi is more akin to a commercial about ramen, Shokugeki might confuse you if you miss an episode or two; the latter show actually has a story. You can miss an episode or a scene from Koizumi and not really miss much, however.

Both shows have a teenage MC trying to live a normal life in some scientifically-more-advanced-than-the-rest-of-the-world city where magical and sci-fi enemies keep coming after them and their harem. Even the storytelling is somewhat similar.

Aside from the superficials such as genre and studio, these two works feature a similar sub-conflict of two best friends starting on opposite sides of the same battle. One could say that one work is inspired by the other to an extent.

One of the most engaging aspects of these two show's storytelling is through the perspective of their main characters who are both non-stop thinkers, always trying to plan ahead, be meticulous and account for as much that can be predicted as possible. If you enjoyed one, you very well might enjoy the other. Moreover, if what you liked is the main character's intelligence, you will find it in the other work too as both feature battles of wit rather than brawn.
