The Manga Taisho (マンガ大賞) is an annual Japanese manga award. The award is limited to series with eight or fewer collected volumes, in order to promote newer titles. The nominating committee, composed of staff members from bookstores, each initially vote for five series and the titles with the top ten number of votes become the official nominees of the year. Finally a second round of voting determines the winner, as well as second and third place.

If something like Kamisama Kiss is 100% focused on romance, and something like One Piece is 0% focused on romance, these would be in the 20–45% range. Some general points to keep in mind:

• Most shounen manga with "romantic subtext" don't qualify. Rurouni Kenshin would be maybe 20% romance; I am treating that as my cutoff.

• I'm not interested in unrequited love or tragic love stories; those will mostly not be on the list.

• This list heavily leans shoujo, but none of the shoujo items are traditional love stories.

• I'm a big fan of mystery stories; those are probably overrepresented here.

Transgender (binary trans, non-binary, and/or intersex) manga with official English (at least partial) translations. Organized roughly by release order in Japan.

(My definition of a trans manga is one that has a main trans character. Them being transgender may or may not be a big impact on the story.)
