Both are shoujo mysteries. Where the main characters, Ivan in Fairy Cube and Hisano in Coelacanth, are trying to figure out the truth about events from their childhood. Both have a romantic element that is secondary to the mystery, but still strongly present in the story as it unfolds. Fairy Cube has decidedly more supernatural elements in its story than Coelacanth, but the latter does have minor hints of supernatural as well.

Both heroines meet a mysterious guy who changes their lives. The artwork styles for both are unique in their own ways and the stories contain some similar elements of teenage angst and romance.

Cheese in the Trap and Coelacanth both have supporting male characters who are enshrouded in mystery and both of them seem genuinely dangerous. Coelacanth and Cheese each contain a bit of romance, mystery, and suspense. And to top it all off, Hong Sul and Hisano aren't the typical naive and annoying female leads; they are both intelligent and a bit analytical, if in different ways. If you like one, you just might like the other!

both reveal bit by bit the truth of the story, allthewhile slowly changing the readers expectations as to what that truth is and though the solution is foreshadowed it still comes as a surprise in the end - that's what makes them both a good read

Itching to read good mystery manga with just the right touch of romance? Two Will Come and Coelacanth are two amazing psychological mysteries that get the job done. In comparison to Two Will Come, Coelacanth has cleaner, less sketchy drawings and is a bit more "modern" both art-wise and story-wise. Both stories have their personal charms though. :D

Looking for dark, psychological shoujo with mystery and romance? Coelacanth and Mayonaka no Ariadne, both by Shimotsuki Kayoko, provide just that with two vastly different heroines that encounter mysterious young men and become involved in worlds more dangerous than they expected. In Coelacanth, the story is more psychologically driven as the heroine deals with a troubled family life and hallucinations while becoming caught up in a murder investigation and a past event that has haunted more than one person for a decade. In Mayonaka no Ariadne, the heroine reunites with a childhood friend and inadvertently gets caught in a web of lies and truth about  read more

Whilst the stories themes are very different, they are both stories in which the main girl character is mixed up in a love triangle with a funny air-head and a serious character from their past. However, Pen.B is a comedy with serious parts, whilst C. is more of a suspense in a seinin style, although with comedy.

Both are thoughtful, short but well-paced stories about people who have to work through a mystery in the past so they can move on with their lives.
