absolutely underrated manga! i never enjoyed a manga as much as this one before. it was wholesome but not too boring and also hilarious to read.

the main character eriko aka ellie is a pervert but lovable and just overall a funny character. i loved her character and how she and the ML ohmi grew closer and closer through out the whole manga. their (spoiler) relationship was so cute and the story included the stages of a relationship and the issues they had to deal with but overcame together. the artstyle is so pretty too and im surprised how many people ik havent heard of ... this manga!! id even rank lovesick ellie as my favorite shojo manga since it was so funny but to an extent also relatable.

overall i enjoyed it alot and i truly can recommend this manga to whoever enjoys comedy, romance with drama. (also the guy blushes alot which i just love)

I want to start this review by stating that I personally think that this is one of the best shoujo manga to come out in recent years. It's not the most unique manga in the demographic, nor is it free from its troupes and cliches, but I found myself enjoying it despite that.

-Story: 8/10-
Most of the synopses out there make this manga sound super perverted, but trust me, it's not. The relationship between the two, while off to a rocky start, was cute, and the story was enjoyable overall.

-Art: 7/10-
The art is very typical for a shoujo, but it's still visually pleasing.

-Character: 7/10-
The main ... character, Ellie/Eriko, was very relateable, and ML can be a little annoying at first but I found myself loving him more as the story went on. There were some nice side characters as well. My only complaint is that sometimes the actions of some characters come off as tropey or cliche.

-Enjoyment: 8/10-
I've read a lot of shoujo, and while it's not anything revolutionary, I still found it refreshing and fun to read.

Overall: 8/10. I recommend.

this manga is what i would expect from most shojou-romace mangas, lots of cute romantic moments (and i love them all<3), the difference between this and others are the 'drama', it doesn't have serious drama, which makes this more entertaining(adding unwanted drama to this mixture would have made it a mediocre work, but now it turned out to be great). the moments they share are too cute that one cannot stop grinning like an idiot. there are few other characters who make appearances later on.

i never knew i would use this term, but yeah this manga would be my definition of 'moe'(mangaka, look what you ... made me say*embarrassed*)

The art is very beautiful, characters are handsome, and the facial reactions comedic at times, no complaints in that regard. That aside,

There were some great moments and then some really annoying moments. First off, I'm not the greatest fan on stories that establish a couple almost immediately in the first volume. The ML keeps a facade of being personable, when he really hates having to put in that effort. He struggles with keeping that reputation and just being himself a bit which is a little more snarky yet kind. I would have liked to see more of that but I felt he became too tame ... with Ellie rather quickly. Ellie doesn't show much growth and is headstrong to the point of unapologetically making bad decisions she doesn't learn from. She pretty constant imo and comes of as self-righteous. In one problem she sounded as if she were saying yeah my choice I hurt you but I feel justified, I don't care about your point much I'm too stubborn to back down.

Ellie is pervy which comes off as funny, but at times she really only is lustful to the point that she's a bit shallow and utterly lacking in many regards. There are other characters who unfortunately weren't drawn more in the story take Kaname, loved his personality and his character had substantial growth, another couple in particular had a lot to offer and I wish I got to see more of them over Ellie. It is cliched in the sense that a kind of average girl gets an above average guy, sure it gives hope to us average girls but fantasizing can't be her only redeeming talent.

There are some truly hilarious parts that come up throughout but towards the end I was getting irritated, there was relief when I finished it. I'm glad I read it, I am even more glad it's over. There's nothing grandiose to gain or lose if you choose to read or skip. But you may find a character that will appeal to you, don't be surprised if it isn't any of the leads, I never found myself rooting for them I was invested elsewhere on side characters.

Literally one of the best high school romcoms I have ever read.

It has one of my all time favorite couples that are so sweet, and wholesome (well mostly hehe), while also being very realistic and grounded.

The comedy is top tier too! It's not that often that I find myself actually laughing at loud at a manga (maybe I just haven't found the right ones?). And most of the comedy comes from the titular Ellie. She's so over-the-top and ridiculous (and soooooo pervy lmao), and even occasionally breaks the fourth wall, it's amazing.

Other than the main couple (that I just adore), the side cast is really ... great too. They all have their own fleshed out personalities, and a few of them, mainly Ellie's best friend, Sara, get their own interesting side stories. But the side stories never feel unwelcome or too much, unlike other series I have read.

And to top it all off, the art is just absolute eye candy. Whoever said shoujo has bad art is clearly blind! Every character is so well drawn, distinctive, and full of emotion (and the smexy scenes were extremely well done!!).

I highly recommend this, so flipping good!!!

Story: 7
The premise of this manga is super interesting: the main girl, Eriko Ichimura, is a girl with no presence, she's constantly forgotten by her peers and has no friends. She constantly daydreams and has a secret twitter account under the pseudonym "Lovesick Ellie" and her twitter account is found out by the school prince "Ohmi-Kun" who actually has a stubborn, tsundere-like personality. They both hold their secret and as feelings arise, they work through their relationship together.

The secret twitter account seems so funny to me, but I wish Ellie ... could've kept her account secret for longer. The whole reason why I picked this manga up is because I thought it would've been super interesting to see how Ellie hides her account from her crush. Even if Ellie finds out Ohmi is not the same one he shows his classmates early on, I think it would've been another 'climax' to the story when Ohmi finds her account.

However, what saved the story for me is that even though both parties have some romantic feelings towards each other, Ohmi is tied between the image he shows others and his 'true' image, something which hurts Ellie since she constantly feels like a burden to him and that he's in a different league that she can't compete in. The manga shifts from this 'secret account' to understanding who you are as a person, and accepting people for who they are. For Ellie, she also has to learn how to have confidence in herself and learn to make most of reality instead of being stuck in fantasies or holding Ohmi to these fantasies in her head.

Overall, the story is super enjoyable, it has cliche tropes but in my opinion, it handles it super well. The comedy is hilaaarious, since Ellie is seen as "perverted" (think of like kpop stans and how they fangirl lol) her commentary is hilarious! And tsundere male leads have always been my favorite.

Art: 7
I gave art a 7 because it's not memorable like Ao Haru Ride or Dengeki Daisy, but it's super pretty and nice to look at. So while the art isn't memorable, it's beautifully drawn and doesn't take away from the story. The expressions are always on point and hilarious, and the panels are easy to read.

Character: 9
I gave the characters a 9 because that's what really keeps me reading aside from seeing how the main couple progresses. Ohmi-kun putting up a persona makes a lot of sense and he isn't overly harsh/mean on Ellie, and he genuinely cares for her. His reactions to Ellie's shenanigans are super hilarious, she's unashamed about anything and he, as a tsundere is constantly flustered. But he has moments where he's teasing to Ellie which makes their interactions super cute!

Ellie is by-far the most hilarious female lead I've ever seen. Her fantasies are wild and she has this air of innocence but dirty-minded, she's so unexperienced but her fantasies says otherwise LOL. She's just really easy to relate to and she's very honest and kind. Her falling for Ohmi is so wholesome. She genuinely wants all of him, and not just the side he shows others. It's very heartfelt! Both her and her friend Sara are atypical female leads and are just super hilarious.

Enjoyment: 8
Things move pretty fast in this manga compared to other shoujo, it seems like it will be a short read but it's super enjoyable because of the character development and the storyline. You would think that if the characters are known to like each other from the get-go it would be boring, but the mangaka does very well in keeping you reading because they aren't reeeeeally together. It's super realistic in my opinion seeing their relationship progress. The question isn't "Does Ohmi like Ellie?" it's more of "How can they move forward in their relationship/friendship?"

Overall: 8
The art is great to look at, the characters are hilarious, and the storyline is pretty captivating. Ellie isn't the typical meek shoujo lead, she's a innocent (yet dirty-minded) lead who's very honest and kind to a fault. She's very forward and silly, and it makes it easy to like her. Even Ohmi who has a "bratty attitude" is kind and considerate of everyone's feelings, and does his best when he makes mistakes. My only wish is that I wanted Ellie's secret twitter account to remain a secret for longer, or at least if Ohmi found out, he could tease her by re-enacting her tweets without her knowing that he knows. Despite the lost potential, the premise is still interesting and I highly recommend if you want to read something sweet, cute, and funny!

How do I describe this manga? It’s a manga that is extremely fun to read, even though on the surface it looks boring. It had an intriguing plot when it was supposed to be a boring one. So I guess I would describe this manga as way better than it has any right to be. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty, shall we?

Story: 8

I was actually not sure where to score this section. It shouldn’t be much of a surprise to long time shoujo fans that the story is fairly standard. Unpopular girl falls for heartthrob of the School, yadda yadda, you get the ... rest. Really the only shoujo tropes it’s missing is laughably bad melodrama/misunderstandings and the main love interest living with the girl. So why? Why does it get an 8? Well I’m not sure how to describe it myself... the addition of good comedy in the story is what save some it. It turns it from a cookie cutter shoujo manga into what feels more like an extremely entertaining parody, while also being a good rom-com in its own right.

Art: 10

While I wouldn’t hang this in a museum, I would describe the art as a perfect fit. The art itself is fairly high quality, with everything being very crisp. Really not much to say, because the good art really is only a nice bonus which complements the story rather than completes it.

Characters: 9

All the main and supporting cast fit well into tropes of the genre, but also feel unique, interesting, and funny. You likely won’t empathize with them on a deep emotional level, but you can tell that they are unique with their own personalities, needs, and wants.

Enjoyment: 10

All in all, it’s just a fun manga. It’s not a work of art that takes itself seriously, so nor should you. It’s funny, it’s sweet, and it’s really just great for shoujo or rom-com fans (with a little bit of parody sprinkled in).

Overall: 9

It’s an easy read, you’ll never feel yourself trudging through just in hopes that it will get better. But hey, what do I know, we’re only 16 chapters in. Here’s to many, many more.

The summary made me feel it was one of those plots again, a girl fantasises boy finds out and then he teases— well here’s the catch, the outline may seem similar to other mangas but its not. It’s actually very enjoyable. I’ve been having such a great laugh thanks to this manga.

The story 10/10
At first I was a bit reluctant to pick this up but I’m so glad I did. Although too much fantasies makes me lowkey uncomfortable but it’s played out in a very humorous way so doesn’t feel too out of the place. ... And I’m sure a lot of you may actually relate to her character so may find it quite enjoyable.

I really like the art! It is very pretty. Would definitely recommend if you’re picky about art and such.

The characters are greaaaat! I was so expecting Ohmi (Male mc) to be full of himself who’ll black-mail the girl or something but wow he’s very accepting and that makes him all the more better.
Ellie too is really likeable, and Ofcourse extremely funny. Sometimes I wonder just what’s going on in that head of hers Lmao.
The supporting characters are really good too.
And then there are also those usual annoying fans of ‘Pretty boy’ but well where aren’t they.

I hope the remaining chapters of the manga will follow this momentum because it’s pretty good till now.
Would really recommend to those looking for a comedy but serious romance plot shoujo manga! Trust me it’ll lift up your mood.

So I saw it had been completed and read the whole thing and came to review but saw I had already reviewed it while it was ongoing hahahah… THIS IS A MUSY READ FOLKS TRUST ME
A GEM! A TOTAL GEM!
Ok so first of all the fl is hilarious and she’s not at all shy to voice out her fantasies. The ml is the best ml I’ve come across in a shoujo manga. He is all about cOnSeNT….something which is 95% of the time lacking in manga especially nowadays Lol. I noticed that I had given 8, 7.5 and so on ratings above but after reading everything in one go I realised it’s an absolutely 10/10 for all aspects….it does have a tad bit of a cliche drama but it’s all resolved asap….So definitely check it out!!

This manga was the perfect combination of cute and funny. The character development was outstanding and the FL I especially enjoyed, very awkwardly adorable. The way that the author portrayed two people very new to love and overcoming obstacles as well as discovering new thoughts and feelings really allows them to connect to the reader. I was sad to be finished reading it 😢

The only criticism I have would be that the plot was a bit predictable, but every other detail about this manga compensates for that and then some. I highly recommend this to those that enjoy shoujo

The art style as well ... was awesome, all of the characters and scenes looked very cute and fitting for the plot. The amount of blushy scenes really made me smile 💕
