>both good quality, character driven comedies with similar style of humour >romance "situation" is also pretty similar in both manga >both finished >In my opinion both are just hilarious, sweet, highly enjoyable and truly recommended

Both are comedies that start off with the girl's confession being confused for something else by the guy. Both are 4 panel manga and are light-hearted and easy to read. There isn't really a plot, only school setting comedy and very slight romance. Both series are sure to make you laugh at each page. The characters aren't terribly similar, although the dynamic between Tomo and Junichirou reminds me of Hori and Kashima from GSNK somewhat. Still, they're all very likeable and entertaining.

If you like cute tomboy it's just for you!

They are both episodic romantic comedy manga, where the main conflict is that the protagonists are over-the-top clueless to the point of stupidity (but in a funny and endearing way) about romance. Another similar point is the two starring couples share the same pastimes so hard (in Tomo-chan it's any and all sports, martial arts, and physical activities and in Evans it's busting baddies and gunslinging) that they see each other as rivals (or at least friendly competition), but to any outside observers, it begs the question of why would they consider dating anyone else.

Very similar feel to both of them. Both 1 page per chapter and quite long running already. Otome Danshi has better romantic development in my opinion.

Main characters know martial arts? Check. A tomboyish girl and general gender confusion? Check.

Take out Tomo, switch the titles and none will be the wiser

They both have this sort of one-sided love thing going for them, both comedy, and they both give a sense of false hope when you think a romantic development is about to happen. Also the main focus is on a boy and a girl.
reportRecommended by yotsuo
Ok this is not a romance but a good comedy slice of life manga it talks about yugami who likes to be alone but then this girl gets transferred to his school and try to be friends... Give it a try you will have a nice laugh and you will be less depressed

Episodical comedy with an overarching romance plot in which the main characters grow feelings for each other over time (perhaps one more than the other) with a quirky supporting cast.

Both stories are about two childhood friends attending high school together, in which one of them start feeling something for the other. The girl in this kinda couple is a tomboy and enjoy hanging out with guys rather than girl (although Tomo has some female friends since the story start). There are some funny scenes involving MCs and other secondary characters that make this two mangas very readable.
reportRecommended by Mithdran
Both series feature short chapters without much text, featuring one or more short, comedic scenes. Both also have an energetic female protagonist. Both will leave a smile on your face and are perfect to read after a long day.

In both mange the Male protagonist is a (or at lest believed to be) a rough jock, and in both the female protagonists are strong school girls, never afraid of a fight, but having difficulty to make their love clear to male MCs who are obvious to the fact.

Both are 4-Koma (4 panel comic) comedy manga with female protagonists aiming for romance. The comedy is mostly centered around misunderstandings which I found to be very entertaining. Both also have plot progression so not slice of life.
reportRecommended by Novachaser01
Both manga deal with childhood friends becoming something morewhile facing the struggles (and joy) of things changing. They're both also insanely sweet.
reportRecommended by cecito
both have an androgenic FL who doesn't have confidence in her looks .. both are really curte .. though one is kinda comical and a 4 koma manga..
reportRecommended by Stardust2000
In Tomo-chans manga she got bullied bc she was to manly. In Nagatoro-sans manga her senpai is bullied for being to feminine. What else is there to say, go have a look!
reportRecommended by Shinobu420
Both mangas have tomboyish heroines who are very athletic. They're both treated like one of the guys, and in Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko; the main guy even thinks she's a dude. As well as thinking Tomo is a boy, Junichirou is also athletic and stupid; unlike Yuuto. There's some comedy in each manga as well.

Both are light hearted school comedies. Both have a strong fm characters (Hori & Tomo). Both have cute side characters & they tell their stories too. Both have a cute, slowly developing romance ^^

Both are romantic comedies centered on childhood friends who had drifted apart and since reunited, but now with their sexual differences more pronounced the relationship is inevitably changed. -Tomo-chan starts with the male love interest, Jun, failing to recognize Tomo's charm since she's tall and still acts very boyish. Tomo tries to increase her feminine appeal with the help of the sadistic Misuzu and airheaded Carol as a result. -Osanajimi reunites the main pair after 10 years apart with Matsuri replaying much of her tomboyish behavior back then but now flustering Daisuke as a result of her feminine transformation.

It's written in the same format (4-koma/4-panel) and has short and sweet chapters for the most part. Although Tomo-chan starts off with the focus of the unrequited romance, Buccafe is more focused on the antics of the cast while having intermitent romance in the plot. The comedy is mainly based on quirkyness and slightly exaggerated personalities, but still enjoyable nonetheless. Tomo-chan is pretty heavily based in a school setting as teenagers. Buccafe, however, is more of an adult setting(not so much in illicit content, but in demeanor/maturity). Their art styles are also relatively similar in terms of realism with a hint of characterization, Buccafe being  read more

These two gems are one-pagers that can put a smile on your face. They're both funny and wholesome, and they generally revolve around the lives of the MCs. Fushigi doesn't have a story, but it's about a cat that's extremely talented, while Tomo has a romance story in it.
reportRecommended by jd2001z
Both include MC's that are commonly mistaken for their opposite genders, romance developing between best friends and the comedy of every day school life where you are slowly growing up.

Two exceptionally strong (physically) and strong-willed characters, who really, really like one another. - High school setting - Both individuals are gifted in the martial arts - Both mangas are comedic The main difference: Do Chokkyuu Kareshi x Kanojo is *way more* inappropriate than the latter.
reportRecommended by OOCentral
Both manga feature an athletic and tom-boyish female lead, with a crush on a dense childhood friend who doesn't see them as the opposite sex and often denies, but still shows hints of returning their affection.
reportRecommended by FluffyFish
Female mcs a similar in that they come across as delinquents but have a cuter feminine side. Waratte is about misunderstandings with her whole school because of her delinquent look and tomo chan is about the her trying to become more féminine to get the guy.
reportRecommended by mai_mai_
- They both have Strong Female leads who are boyish that cause the other females around them to fall for them or think that they're cool like a guy. - Hilarious misunderstandings. - In Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko, the girl MC confesses to the guy while in Mizutama Honey boy the feminine boy confesses to the manly girl - Both of these stories have the MCs trying to overcome the "friendzone" (In Tomo-chan, Tomo is the one having a huge crush on the Male MC, while in Mizutama, the Male MC is the one with a huge crush on (Sengoku) the strong female lead.

Both titles are in 4-Koma style. Although the protagonists are the total opposite, the comedy style, setting, and even character setup (2 girls 1 boy) are similar. Both have similar premise: "girl trying to make her feelings known to the boy, while the rest of their friends cheer on them"

If you want less twisted romance and more craziness, Plastic Neesan is the manga for you. It takes situations similar to them in Tomo-chan and twists them into madness.
reportRecommended by txrxgxu
tomo-chan is also on the funny side with a more romantic atmosphere and no supernatural abilities but if you like light hearted comedies it's a must.
reportRecommended by Kuroyaminojou
Tomo-chan is like Chitoge who is viewed by Kubo Jun and/or Raku as a Gorilla woman. Despite her efforts to show her girly side to the guy, the guy feels it to be casual and then the girl gets angry and goes ape sht

If you are in search of another fluffy manga to fill you with a warm and fuzzy feeling while you read through it, one that makes you smile at its characters and their antics, and are longing for a dash of romance on top of it, Tomo-chan is your friend. Although Komi-san and Tomo-chan are very different personalities from the start, you'll find they share their similarities: They are both working on a communication problem and trying to overcome it in a genuine and earnest way. And both manage to look absolutely adorable while trying! Tomo-chan has a smaller cast of equally likable characters compared to  read more

Both female leads are in love with someone who doesn't seem to care about romance.

This is both 4-koma comics, taking place in school. Both are romance/comedy oriented. If you like Hazuki Kanon you'll like Tomo-chan, and vice-versa.

These two series are about relationships in high school and girls being mistaken as boys. They have in common to be humoristic with situation about gender, with the same kind of cute atmosphere and characters.

1) Juliet and Tomo are strong woman 2) Both main male characters are very strong and treat easy to their lovers even before they start dating 3) All characters have cute and funny reactions
