I've been reading manga daily since 2016, at the time of writing this review i have almost 100 mangá completed and this is probably the most fun i've had with the media.
The characters are so damn compelling, the story hits you right on your feelings, the artwork is phenomenal, it is funny, entertaining, wholesome. Although it is a seinen, don't expect sexual violence or these kinds of stuff that's usually in seinen mangá. This is a Soft Seinen mangá.
The worst part is that i'm not even a huge rock fan, i was always the more kind of hip-hop guy when i was younger. My

Beware:
1) You can start a Band 2) And you can Read this Manga Though DO NOT DO THE TWO THINGS AT THE SAME TIME!! It's A Heart Attack. This is what's happening to me right now. Reading this manga is like starting to play with a band of very good friends, in love with music, and all doing their very best to become great musicians. It's a continuous pleasure. It's like breathing deeply the purest air, with the scent of flowers and the gentle light of a beautiful morning sun. The Characters are alive -- even the Dead Ones. I'm in love, really. I am intoxicated by the beauty ... Sep 7, 2017
I love this manga. It has a fair amount of tropes and the premise is hamfisted in the beginning, but it really mirrors the struggle of following your passion. Maybe I'm reading this at just the right time in my life, but if you're someone who struggles with the choice to either follow a creative path or take the safer route, this will hit all your buttons.
The characters are flawed, fun, and refreshing. The Rock ghosts feel very unique and there are a lot of call backs to people to love their music/personalities. Art really surprises me by being out of this ... Sep 13, 2020
This manga is such a joy to read I get to re-listen all the rock music that I have listened in the past and appreciated a bit more. Here are the scores I put.
Story 10- I really love the story of a teacher who is seen as someone that their are insignificant but has a different side to her that no one expects in which she forms a rock band with the help of Jimi Hendrix (a legends rock star). Also I love that the mentors are all rock stars that pass at the age of 27. Art 10- I love the art style even with ... Jan 14, 2018
A reminiscence of a dying living legend mixed up with an Ala' Orthodox jazzy feeling among the blues who resent with a spirit counterpart of a ghost, A live soul of music.
Bizarre top notch musical jack juxtapose characters with redeeming melody of undeniable feeling kicks up with a coastal experience down the path of crossroads Instead getting a vibes of Robert Johnson's vintage of crossroad, Shiori Honda despite leaving her own career who got retired by playing guitar again due to lessons. Building up the possible character traits plus the mixed up jack-in emerges living inside and furmost soul. Contradicting an unanonimous tale between a former ... May 22, 2022
At the time of writing this review, there are only 60 chapters translated, so I will only be covering those. Also, spoilers for the first 10 chapters.
Shiori Experience isn't a groundbreaking manga, nor does it try to avoid overused cliches in it's storytelling, as a matter of fact, it's full of cliches that you would find not only in manga, but in other media as well. A loser main character who suddenly receives the power of a legendary person? Check. A delinquent who purposely avoid their only friend with the intention of not hurting them? Check. A creepy character who is obsessed with the ... Nov 14, 2015
If you're a fan of rock then this is the manga for you. It takes a rather crazy idea and makes it enjoyable to read. Originally I was a but disinterested ad I was reading through it, however as the story continued I found myself caring less about the story and more about the characters that make up the series thus far. Each and ever one of them that makes up the band have their own issues and their own quirks, and the manga does its best to make you care about them in their 'arc'.
I don't see this being a long running manga, but ... Jan 26, 2021
When I first read this manga as blues rock n roll and metal lover. I always conceive myself, that the legendary musician rock music are still alive. When I saw a chapter about Jimi Hendrix played with Kurth Cobain, feels like it actually happen in real life. Jim Hendrix play "Smell Like A Teen Spirit" with his psychedelic guitar style and Kurt play "Purple Haze" with power of grunge would created a great masterpiece.
This manga makes me always that all great rock musician not only member 27 club such like John Bonham, Bon Scot, Syd Barret and every member still life somehow. Sweat spill ... Jan 24, 2018
I'm gonna make this blunt; this is the dumbest, yet the funniest manga I've read. I'm not even done with it and I love it. As a Hendrix fan myself, I could never expect to tell my friends, 'Jimi Hendrix is my favorite manga character.' Well, this put the sentence in my head.
If you're expecting a deep story with exquisite characters and an in-depth analysis of Hendrix's music, I don't know why you would expect that from this... If you're like me; open minded and always willing to be entertained by dumb things, this will probably entertain you for a long time. Now, if we can get ... Dec 7, 2015
This manga is based on an interesting premise -- a teacher who lived mostly an ordinary life meets with the spirit of one of the greatest guitarists ever, Jimi Hendrix, who helps bring out her musical soul. Through her passion and drive, she cobbles together a group of disparate kids to make a band in order to have a great performance.
The story itself is interesting and the subject is engaging. It's a highly fun read that I think can immerse readers fairly easily. It's too early to tell much with the story, but so far, it is fairly good. Unfortunately, while the premise is very strong, ... |
