This is a great story with all the typical "ingredients" that I love in manga: the ones that you can find in Steins;Gate, for instance, and those more typical of the Japanese folklore. The reader who loves the work and "Mythos" of Morohoshi Daijirou will definitely love Summertime Render. As typical in Morohoshi, here one can find references to the Kojiki, the gods of Shintou, The Land of Tokoyo, and of course faithful references to the Japanese rites. The reader familiar with the famous movie "The Body Snatchers" and its more recent remake will love this manga.

Karakuri Odette

Is a human body an essential, necessary component of a human soul?
Tezuka's answer with Atom was "No." And that, until now, was the most beautiful answer I'd ever heard. It's an answer that cancels all of the stupid, machine-like prejudice that we human beings seem never to be able to get rid of. But then I read Karakuri Odette. Her story gave my question the sweetest and most beautiful answer, one that made my heart warmer and brought grateful tears on my face. What makes a human being truly human? It's the human heart. A Pure Heart, like Odette's. I liked everything of this work. Character development is fantastic, ... Sep 2, 2021
Beware:
1) You can start a Band 2) And you can Read this Manga Though DO NOT DO THE TWO THINGS AT THE SAME TIME!! It's A Heart Attack. This is what's happening to me right now. Reading this manga is like starting to play with a band of very good friends, in love with music, and all doing their very best to become great musicians. It's a continuous pleasure. It's like breathing deeply the purest air, with the scent of flowers and the gentle light of a beautiful morning sun. The Characters are alive -- even the Dead Ones. I'm in love, really. I am intoxicated by the beauty ... Aug 12, 2021
Imagine you're a psychologist, and you want to describe a psychological trait. What would you do? What is the best "form" to discuss such a thing?
I think it's by means of manga. And this particular manga showcases how this can be done. And how you can truly help people address a psychological matter that impairs them and brings them discomfort. This is a masterwork. It's a living thing. It made me cry, it made me happy. It made me wonder. It is an absolutely great work of art and of soul. It is like life. True life. I wish I could ever get to write a story ... Jul 25, 2021

Not everyone understands this manga. I've read reviews of people extremely disappointed with it. I believe they did not understand this work. This is a reflection about the perfect soulmate, the one that would be truly perfect, if only s/he existed.
Have you ever felt pain, passion, and yes, love, for an character from a manga or an anime? I did, I do. It's like loving a dream. You know s/he does not exist and yet you cannot stop loving. This manga is the Author's way to sublimate this feeling. I think it can only be understood by a person that can love and search ... Oct 10, 2020
Watashi wa Shingo

Everything in Watashi wa Shingo flows like in a dream -- or a nightmare. It's different from any other manga I've read, because there is a special onirical state here. Also, in order to appreciate it, you need a voluntary suspension of your "will" -- you need to hang onto the Author's train of thoughts and be carried along. Also you need to suspend your judgement, your disbelief. You have to play along. But if you do, I think you will not be disappointed. I think I will read other works of this Author because I want to be drawn again into his "crazy dimension".

This is one of those stories that capture you completely. It starts like a simple story, and then the climax grows and grows. I read 25 chapters in two days -- I could not stop. The only bad thing about it is that it's ongoing, and now that I read all the available chapters I feel like I'm in withdrawal. Amazing story, living characters. The mangaka is creating a masterwork. My hope is that she will treat her characters well to the very end.
Another aspect that I find amazing is that the elements of the story match perfectly with what I have been reading in ... |
