This manga has a weak start, but when it hits it's stride around volume 6 it takes off and goes from a mediocre ecchi comedy to a genuine hero's journey.

Story - 7
The story starts off quite weak and generally lacks foreshadowing. This is largely due to the fact that the story was not really planned out. That being said, once the story really get's going and the story becomes more structured, the story is a real blast. I would also like to commend the author for doing something interesting with the concept of necromancy and how the basis for magic itself is extremely important ... to the story.

Characters - 9
Almost every named character introduced in this manga get a satisfying conclusion and get a good amount of depth. Some characters have their backgrounds revealed out of left field with their actions being contrived due to a lack of foreshadowing, but the character I'm specifically talking about is involved in one of the funniest fights in the entire series and also gives great insight into the motivations and intentions of the main villains. One of the main heroines Yuuna is unbearable, especially early on. Her role as a character is to be a straight man to Touka's (the new hero) antics and her role in the story entirely evaporates around the midpoint of the story and is just sort of there. Touka, the protagonist, is amazing. His hairbrained schemes are always fun to watch and as the audience you either think "Touka, you are insane" or "Touka you are an idiot". He serves as the perfect mix of a brave hero and village idiot.

Art - 10
The art style is fantastic. Characters are expressive, monsters are cool as hell, and girls range from cute to absolute bombshells. Faces for female characters are a bit samey, though only if you really look for it.

I have a massive dislike for the ecchi genre. Partly because it doesn't excite me, partly nude anime girls are a dime a dozen and I mean at some point I'd rather just watch hentai. But the other part is because usually aside from the comedy centered around naked girls, the stories don't have anything going for them. Not only that, the jokes centered around naked girls are usually not very funny. Yuusha ga Shinda manages to overcome that seemingly insurmountable hurdle and has both a genuinely compelling story and, at times, is genuinely funny. I'm not going to say that this is a masterpiece ... of comedy, in fact, the manga still has many genuinely uninteresting "kyaaaaa!" moments that I just kinda gloss over. But what matters is that when the manga is at its best, it really got something out of me, whether that be a laugh or otherwise. This is especially prevalent towards the end, where the author manages to keep upping himself by taking the several running jokes he had developed at the beginning and ramping them up to their most absurd endpoints. This incredible development is what manages to completely drown out its boring parts, which is why despite everything, my score is still pretty high. If you are not usually a fan of the ecchi genre like me, I suggest giving this one a chance.

Story:
The plot is straightforward and even cliche if you want to call it that, but what makes it unique is the way it is presented: the protagonist of this manga isn't a proud and valiant knight or a skilled adventurer with the desire to explore the world with his party to forge strong bonds. He is an extremely perverted farmer who will do anything to get his hands on the voluptuous legs of the female protagonists in this manga. He has a huge fetish for thighs with kneesocks.
As previously anticipated, the plot is not particularly complex at first, but as you continue ... reading, more and more information about this world's mysteries is revealed, and trust me when I say that this ecchi manga has some unexpected plot twists.
With a pseudo-medieval setting, the world-building is nice and everything has a reason to be where it is.
The Hero's task is to close Hell's gates, which reopened three years after they were shut before this story begins. Demons from Hell will be his enemies, but someone else is also plotting in the shadows...
If you're looking for an ecchi manga, this has some of it, and the author brilliantly manages to link the perverted side of the main character to what's happening around him, but I suppose there are shorter series, which focus more on the ecchi part. Although this one does it as well, in my opinion, it's not the most crucial component. Since I don't want to give anything away, I suggest you start this manga only if you're willing to read more than 100 chapters because that's when this manga gets good.

Art:
The author's style resembles that of a shounen manga; all of the characters have similar facial expressions, but I like it, and I'll be honest: the ecchi parts have a lot of the same censorship (like wrapped portions of clothing covering the nipples), but they are very well made, as of the landscapes and backgrounds, which are well drawn. You shouldn't expect breathtaking paneling and extremely detailed drawings.

Characters:
Every character is well-written and has a backstory, which is typically somewhat depressing, but as I previously mentioned, you won't learn about this in the first 10–20 chapters because the story's first half is more concerned with world-building and the premise of the hero's adventure. Instead, you will learn about all the characters' inner thoughts and personalities later on.
The main character is more of an antihero, willing to put his desires (putting kneesocks on the thighs of big-boobed girls) ahead of saving the world, but he can also be a friend and a badass, which makes him a nice MC in my opinion.
Since every character in this manga (OMG, there are male characters in the hero's party!) gets their fair share of "screentime" and is unique in terms of interests and social class, I feel like every supporting character has a purpose in the story.
Even though they are highly sexualized, the girls have personalities and aspirations and are not just there to fall in love with the main character in 1.3 seconds or to serve as walking fanservice.

Enjoyment:
A manga that can put together thighs, nice world-building, and a compelling storyline is hard not to love. You can initially enjoy this manga as a light read, but as you continue reading, you'll notice that it succeeds in enhancing the plot with details and even mystery, which is unusual for an ecchi manga.
