Manga: InuYasha
Both are romantic comedies set in feuderal areas in their respective countries. Both are full of twists and turns to keep you on your seat and cheering for your favorite couple to get together.

Manga: Akatsuki no Yona
Both set in historical times, where the heroine traveled around to look for companions. However, the heroine was someone from modern world. She came from other world, and was named as a priestess that'd bring happiness to the country she descended on. And she began gathering her destined warriors but it wasn't an easy feat. Like every other manga, a villain has to wreck everything. Unlike Akatsuki no Yona having a subtle romance getup, Fushigi yuugi romance line developed in a relatively fast pace. The manga was published in the 90s but it's definitely one of my favorite manga. It has anime too. Not  read more

Manga: Ayashi no Ceres
Another great story from the same author, although FY's story is founded more on a fantasy basis. FY has less horror, more humour and a lighter tone generally, but the love plots in Watase's works are similar enough. I preferred FY by far, but both mangas are worth a read.

Manga: Tenkuu no Escaflowne
Both feature a girl who's whisked away to another world. Fushigi Yugi has far more romance, with a lot of action, comedy, and drama, while Escaflowne has a fairly standard shounen plot with a dash of romance.

Manga: Strange Dragon
Hot hero. Beautiful art. Lovey dovey moments! Strange Dragon, the hero turns into a dragon at times. Reminds me of seiryu. Old China background. Outfits are similar. Fantasy romance. Tamahome-like shy hero. Funny moments.

Manga: Juushin Enbu
Both Hero Tales and Fushigi Yuugi have themes based around the Chinese constellations. While Hero Tales is a shonen and Fushigi Yuugi is Shoujo, they both have great action sequences, great characters and interactions, and overall great story.

Manga: RG Veda
Gods and warriors, stars and prophecies, love and betrayal. Chosen children, the allies protecting them and the evil ones who want them dead. A group of six/seven fighters in one epic adventure to fulfill wishes. Fantasy shoujo works by famed authors, serialized from early to mid 90's, featuring Asian mythology, dramatic effects (along with comedic bits) and a plethora of bishounen. RG Veda has more bloody action while Fushigi Yugi is focused on romance.

Manga: Imadoki!
By the same author, it holds the same charms, style and has another incredible story. The characters are just as inspiring. While the story is fantasy, everyone is just as believable. FY was, in fact, my introduction to Watase. Warning: Only books 1-13 are really really good. 14-18 aren't so.

Manga: Mugen Densetsu Takamagahara
Both are fantasy adventures, where the main leading girl is transported to a fantasy land and she must gather others and form a group. In Dream Saga, Yuuki gathers her classmates who also go to the other world, and in Fushigi Yugi, Miaka gathers her celestial warriors. However, Dream Saga has a lot less drama and is more innocent; it is also a lot shorter as well.

Manga: Saiunkoku Monogatari
While the storylines are different for these two mangas (one is about a girl dragged into a book, the other a girl attempting to be an official) the feel of them are very simiar. You have the female lead attempting to lead her people, experiancing trials along the way. Both are surrounded by guys that only want to protect her, and an emperor that is deeply in love. The art on both is splendid as well. If you love one, you will adore the other.

They are both about a girl who needs to save another world and an important person will fight against them. Also the story is very similair.

Manga: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
First of all both series were published back in 1992 and created by prolific authors. Story-wise they don't share any similarity but both series is centered around a teenage girl who are both whiny, gluttonous and has hair buns. They are given special roles that involves becoming a special individual that has to find their celestial warriors in order to fulfill their specific roles.

Manga: Shin Shirayuki-hime Densetsu Pretear
Ordinary schoolgirl meets her new responsabilities as a maiden/princess - with a reverse harem of bishounen knights - in a fantasy world. Both Fushigi Yugi and Pretear are adventurous and romantic isekai shoujo manga. One draws from ancient Chinese mythology, the other is a take on the classic fairytale Snow White.

Manga: Mikan no Tsuki
In both, a seemingly normal girl has magical abilities, and learns that she can save others with it. Both have romance and action. CM is much more fast paced.

Manga: Basara
Well the two series doesn't have any similarities but they do contain adventures and great character development so I'm recommending that if you read one or the another you might like the other series. So enjoy. Both have great adventure story and of course they both have their fair share of romance.

Manga: Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden
After all this years no one had ever thought of making recommendation for these two series. If you love the classic Fushigi Yugi I definitely give my highest recommendation to read Fushigi Yugi Genbu Kaiden. After-all its the Prequel of one of the most beloved popular shojo series. Of course its no brainer that they share the same concept and basic plot however the similarity ends there. Fushigi Yugi is cheesy and at times annoyingly sappy although entertaining altogether whilst Genbu Kaiden is more mature, deep, melancholic and has a much complex story. Both are definitely addictive and has memorable characters. If you want to  read more

Manga: Zettai Kareshi.
The art is kinda similar, since it is from the same author. As for the storyline, The way both stories ended is "sort of" similar ( sort of, meaning not fully) You'll understand once you've read them. Of course, they have different ending like one ended up in a happy ending while the other is somewhat happy and yet kinda sad ending..
