You enjoy time-travel with endless repetition of a certain event that the protagonist tries to change? If you enjoy the struggle followed by twists, strong protagonists, very well written pieces, good artwork then you just found two novels that share that. And both have "zero" in the title, which means you'll see them re-start a lot until you can feel sympathy for the protagonists while the story induces you into a "want to read more" to see what comes next.

-time travel/loop aspect that occurs at death -darker than perceived themes -interesting character development

Protagonist goes through time loops and has to figure out how to fix it. If they don't figure it out they'll experience deaths of their close ones over and over again, taking a toll on their state of mind.

Both series take on the similar premise of the main characters being transported to another world. However, as KonoSuba adds a comedy/parody tone to it, Re:Zero adds a slightly darker tone to the genre.

If you like useless main characters which the only skill they have is persistence you would like to see tokyo revengers. The main character is just a guy fighting to have his love alive in the future, because he can roll back in time, just like Subaru.

Princess Mia also "returns by death" and is actively trying to avoid her future death again with political maneuvering, stratagems, and more.

Isekai - MC transported to another world. This world has medieval technology and fantasy creatures/magic/fighting/themes. MC are not particularly strong, often lose their battles, and must adapt and change in order to move forward. Both works are not shy of capitalizing on the use of death and despair. Characters are memorable, and the relationships between them are important to the story.

protagonists different from the standard, who have limited power with and risks using and who depend on their intelligence, it is the world that does not envolve around them and the promise to make a difference heroes and that has the promise is made right away, is a beautiful passage of torch of a character that appears not so long as on the screen (all might x all for one - the whale fight) and transform '' defects '' (different) into qualities. protagonistas diferentes do padrão, que tem poderes limitados e arriscados de usar e que tem que depender da suas inteligencias, é o mundo  read more

Protagonist is stuck in the loop they have to repeat over and over and they have to figure out how to not let someone else die.

In both of these series the protagonist resets time upon his death. It portrays the character as someone who is struggling and fighting alone, with no help from others. One way or the other this ability will be exploited so that the protagonists and those dear to them will be able to survive.

In these light novels, the protagonist has to suffer through repetition of situations where their close ones are endangered or even die. The protagonist to find a way to fix the situation. Both involve time travel.
reportRecommended by abystoma2
The protagonist finds himself in a time loop, one that is triggered by his death. He needs to overcome his fear and use the available means in the loop to get stronger and figure out a way to survive the loop and break out.

Story about Elf, a lot of people hate elf, and the elfs (satella, kaede) want mc to kill them, and the elfs can use invisible hand
reportRecommended by zakff08
Both are about a dude who experiences a series of time loops where all his friends are killed off in rather gruesome ways. Lots of horrific and goofy deaths. Rather incompetent but still loveable protagonist. Multiple cute waifus.
