The stories are really similar, and even the character's names are even similar. Ichijou Hajime - Ichijou Raku, Ninomiya Chitose - Kirisaki Chitoge. High school setting, tsundere female transfer student, starting off on the wrong foot, etc. If you like one you'll probably like the other. 

Both is simple romance manga that you couldn't hate except the simplicity itself Both are short, you can read it in one go Both are sweet... Higashi no Kurume is a little more weird and a little not expressive... But I still like how it goes and how it ends... more laid back... While Bocchi na Bokura is shorter, more expressive and make you feel more "doki2" 

It's about romance without love triangle or polygonal shape. You may find some 'life drama' in Love Calendar tho, while Bocchi na Bokura no Renai Jijou is a lighthearted one. If you like a story that focus on the relationship (romance) between two characters, these manga are for you. 

- Tsundere girls and the guys that they are constantly arguing with - Constant Bickering turns into Friendship, which develops into something more? - Male leads that are a little more mature than their classmates  

I find the art style somewhat similar between these 2 titles. Also the pacing is similar. In these 2 titles you will not see the female protagonist throwing herself at the male protagonist for no god damn reason. Both characters take time to get to know each other, in both titles. Both titles have an essence of realism when it comes to relationships. It's gradual intimacy. Plus, if constant appearances of new love interests gets on your nerves, you won't have to worry about that here. The plot is straight in the sense that the overall main focus is always between the 2 main characters, for both titles. Give it a gander.  read more
