combat butler........

Both employee lots and lots of random humor, have harems that torment the hero and like to build up to nonsense climaxes. If you like one you'll probably like the other.

Although they have different premises, both series follows a main male character where their complicated circumstances lands them in a relationship with another girl (although of different nature). Both series' main female protagonist possesses a stubborn personality when it comes to love but deep down has has genuine feelings for the MC. Throughout both series, we also find out a bit more about some of the other characters that they come in contact with. There are also secrets that unfolds as both series' stories focuses on relationships to tests the potentials for our main characters.

Both protagonists get ditched by their parents and adopted by a spoiled rich girl.

Both the same concept, an unfortunate Guy protecting a young girl. The only difference is that Kure-nai is much darker than Hayate the combat butler.

Hime is pretty much Hayate in an alternate world. A world where Hayate isn't as skilled in various jobs, isn't super strong, but is just as cute(especially when cross dressing) and goes down the path of cross dressing instead of the combat butler.

Similar style of comedy and atmosphere, both have convoluted relationships and combat.

Both manga have explicit comedy that have some similarities with the jokes that have been thrown. Grand Blue´s jokes hit hard like HnG´s.

Both Hayate and Shigeyoshi are boys that to support their parents selfishness that result on they servant life (that they don't really dislike...) at the service of a tsudenre girl and had to support being cross-dressed; however the difference is that Hayate got just a few times into girls clothes while Shigeyoshi must maintain Narumi's identity is a matter of "dead or alive".

Both series follow the relationship between an upper class female and a male commoner.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both feature male protagonists who suddenly find themselves not only in upper class settings, but also amongst a number of female characters that are romantically interested in him.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
These two romance titles revolve around male protagonists and the many female characters they come across. Each female character encountered usually adopts a couple of stereotypes, and many of them fall in love or become interested in the male protagonist.

Romantic comedies contextualised within upper class settings.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both of these titles revolve around male protagonists who start off in seemingly bad states (Hayate is poor and Haru is seen as a delinquent), but end up developing relationships (friendships and romantic ones) with a number of female characters. Comedy in both titles often come as a result of parody, but also through the exaggerated use of romantic cliches.

In both the rich family of one of the main caracter take care of the dept of the other main caracter in echange for him to become a buttler.

These two titles don't seem very similar, but when I read Yoki Koto Kiku, it feels somewhat like reading Hayate. Both of these titles have comedy, although Yoki Koto Kiku has a dark type of comedy, and they both involve rich kids with some financial matter; a debt in Hayate and an inheritance matter in Yoki Koto Kiku. But the biggest similarity may be just the randomness in each of them.
reportRecommended by Chimichoco
Both Hayate and Gintama have extremely long chapter titles, having nothing to do with the actual chapter. Also, both have little to no plot progression, and have more of an over regression after chapter 1. Both also break the 4th wall.

What's with manga and debt? One has a main character with a debt of a hundred fifty million yen that was tossed on to him by his freeloading parents and he gets to be a butler in a love comedy. While the other manga has a main character with a debt of TWO hundred and fifty million that was due to a brother's incompetence and she gets hounded within an inch of her life unless she makes the tennis pros in this sports manga. I guess the moral of this recommendation is to either be wary of your Japanese family members, or  read more

Funny, uses other manga/anime as resources or references, great opening songs

Both series start with lots of seemingly random chapters filled with gags, while the real plot builds up slowly, and then at some point all the pieces come together and you discover that it's not as light-hearted as you could think in the beginning.
