Both employee lots and lots of random humor, have harems that torment the hero and like to build up to nonsense climaxes. If you like one you'll probably like the other.

There's a familiar mood and atmosphere when I compare Hayate no Gotoku! and D-Frag. Both series adapts lighthearted comedy with a colorful cast of characters. These characters ranges in a variety of personalities. The main male protagonists' interactions with them also has a varied range of expressions that allows the readers to see their real selves. As the story progresses, we also learn more about each of the characters on an individual level. There is an overwhelming amount of comedy for both series that relies on gags, references, and gimmicks. If you're looking for a good comedy, these two are your bets.
