A journey through life, where you discover the dark world, you make wrong decisions, you get depressed by the mistakes you've made, where everything can go worse, where you see the innocence where you started and end up lamenting for everything: Love , Sex, Family, Friendship. And I'm not only talking about your life, but two mangas to reflect. 

Not due to fault of their own, the protagonist ends up in quite terrible situation of abuse. Rather then drama though, both of those titles are quite literally abuse porn. 

Observe the "heroine" fall further and further down the spiral of despair, with debauchery and depression. 

In these two series, you follow the story of a female protagonist going down a path in which they can never go back. Both depict dark and serious themes such as prostitution. Kimi ni Aisarete Itakatta shows a more soft core version of it's mature scenes than Henshin does. However, these two still share the common trait of being violent. The art style presented is similar. 

The whole time reading Kuzo no Honkai, it reminded me of Henshin soo much. Only thing is Henshin is the more extreme, more vile and more dirty than Kuzu no Honkai. Kuzu no Honkai is the clean version. So, both girls kind of go through the same situation, ignore their conscience and life continues to be harsh on them due to their decision makings with boys and relationships. The difference between these stories is that Hanabi from Kuzo learned from her mistakes and moves forward no matter how hard it was for herself, and the protagonist from Henshin did not and her world crumbled before her. Its an excellent read and I seriously recommend you to try it. WARNING it contains a lot of sex and nudity but the message is so strong that you will end up crying your eyes out. And for a manga with only 8 chapters that can do that is just amazing. read more 

Loved both series and had a very similar feeling while reading; the best description would be "a downward spiral". Henshin (Emergence) starts with the same theme as Misumisou, yet the outcome is portrayed in a completely different way. The scenario is more realistic and less exaggerated in Henshin, although slightly less serious compared to deadly serious Misumisou. Very heartwrecking and a story you will most probably think about for a longer time if Misumisou had that effect on you as well. 

Focuses on the life of a teenager and how it becomes a toy, how feelings get confused, while wounds are opened. The protagonist gets involved in the struggle over her life, becoming addicted to a relationship that does not know where it will go. Even though, henshin is more focused on the sexual side of things, the story still does focus around the more darker side of growing up in the formative years. 

Two erotic mangas, which in addition to having sexual content, focuses on the life of a teenager and how it becomes a sex toy, how feelings get confused, while wounds are opened. The protagonist girl gets involved in the struggle over her life, becoming addicted to a relationship that does not know where it will go. Both show a realistic touch, an art that shows you what they are feeling, and how everything seems to become deeper and more dramatic, following the pages. 

Both manga feature the moral decline of a female lead and how their lives irrevocably spiral out of control. These titles have an incredibly cynical depiction of society where almost every character is either a complete scumbag or a victim suffering in silence. Definitely not for the faint of heart. 

Both titles focus on the moral and sexual degradation of a female protagonist who starts off as innocent and naive. They let their inner desires take over their lives and alienate their friends and family during their downfall. 

Both manga depict young women facing conflicts that worsen throughout the story, from family issues to their environment affecting them physically and mentally.  

Both manga consist of unfortunate events that happen upon the young main characters: family issues, personal issues, environmental issues, etc. Throughout both mangas we see how their mental health and lives deteriorates because of the choices they made during their childhoods. 

occasionally i hear someone talk about how ShindoL's Metamorphosis went above and beyond all manga that preceded it in terms of erotic cruelty and torture. ofc, that's far from true, and while i might be at first tempted to point to sleazy eromanga from the 80's, perhaps people who found Metamorphosis intriguing will be able to see clearer similarities between ShindoL's series and Uziga Waita's "Material", a four-chapter work that leads Waita's collection Death Face. the cruelty is there, the cold mercilessness is there. in fact, looking back on it, i think that Metamorphosis may show more sympathy toward its heroine than does "Material". while extending such cruelty into pure guro territory, including amputees and (admittedly VERY creative) body modification, "Material" also establishes a even colder tone than ShindoL's series. obviously not for the faint of heart, but anyone who found Metamorphosis to be worthwhile reading will quickly discover they're only at the tip of the iceberg once they've begun reading Uziga Waita. Death Face also contains ShindoL's equally merciless ryona one-shot "A Valueless Insect"/"Cockroach", which I think is a little more interesting, and which i'd recommend to fans of extreme horror in the vein of Texas Chainsaw. of course, anyone who is already reading things like "Material" will probably find Metamorphosis to be pretty tame, but I still would recommend it to people interested in cruelty within eromanga, especially considering how immensely popular Metamorphosis has become outside of Japan. read more 

idk why but when I saw the girl (in kono class ni gal) in her old self the first thought that comes to was metamorphosis, I didn't want to add that crap in my list even though I've read it but I add it just to recommend it to this. both MC wanted to have new persona on highschool or what's called "highschool debut", henshin is dark & heavy while kono class ni gal.... is light & fun.  

Both mcs do shitty things to themselves to “please” someone. Hina looks like Saki sometimes too 

Longer with less nsfw moments and more story. More cruel and depressing. 

Main character is going to the wrong direction and wrong point of view. They gone throw painful life and they show flashbacks of how they were before they changed. The ending is really sad and depressing and it's still so nostalgic even till now. 

Well, imagine core drama of Henshin done perfectly in just 50 pages, it is Tooi Kimi ni, Boku wa Todokanai for you. 

Girl's live gets ruined by getting pregnant with a scumbag. 

Two hentai who happen to have a real, deep story. One of them is happier than the other, but they still both portray some very sad moments and real social issues. Get ready to see some tears, and to have some yourself. Also, say good bye to your morals, we're talking about kidnapping, prostitution and pedophilia here.  

There are surprising similarities even apart from the name - both are stories of someone who gets pushed by those around them to change, about someone who gets the selfish desires of others pushed on them as the protagonists own life only gets worse by sacrificing the pursue of their own happines. Both are quite tragic stories. 

Thanks to encounter with bad people and drug-related issues, the protagonist girl gets mind breaked and addicted.  

I cried, I rolled back what my life story was like. Love is complicated and teens get caught up in it, Velvet Kiss and Henshin are a gruesome picture of the adult world. I recommend Velvet Kiss if you want to find manga in this genre, You will find out what the hard world of adults is like. 

These two series are so oddly reminiscent of each other. The only difference here is that Saki did not have a Yoshida-san to be there for her and to guide her towards the correct path of adultery (speaking of which bruh saki's also a yoshida wtf what are the odds perhaps it was indeed inspired by henshin who knows). Both explores similar themes and while the two series go down completely different paths (pacing was also drastically diff), they had similar tropes and I can see people enjoying both. Regardless, if you enjoyed Henshin, give Hige wo Soru a go for a less-dark experience.
