Homoerotic tales of sociopaths, lovingly drawn and written. Gory and sometimes campy gems.

Usamaru Furuya was clearly inspired by Suehiro Maruo's style, especially that of Wararu Kyuuketsuki. They are each extremely dark and erotic-grotesque.

Both manga focus on a group of students betraying each other and fighting among themselves. They also feature a lot of gore and disturbing imagery. The art styles are also somewhat similar.

The main villains of "Monster" and "Litchi Hikari Club" have very similar characteristics. Both characters are sociopaths and nihilists, and use their charm to convince people to commit crimes for them. Both are leaders of cults composed on dangerous individuals, and both are created as metaphors of the dictator Adolf Hitler. Apart from the characters, both manga create an atmosphere of suspense and deal with disturbing and taboo themes related to serial killing and psychopathy.

Both include dark themes and gore

In both manga, the main characters are sociopaths, who form a party by glorifying murder and genocide. While "Waga Tousou" is based on true events and depicts the life of Adolf Hitler, "Litch Hikari Club" serves as a metaphor of his life and regime, but its events are fictional.

In both manga, the main characters are depraved and sadistic students who commit acts of violence. Both manga have a lot of gore and a very similar vibe.

As a theme of my recommendations , whilst reading this I was like . . . " hey ! this is similar to litchi hikari club . . . " And here we are ! These two both include dark themes such as cult-like clubs , drugging , SA and suicide . Both have the same author ,Includes mentally ill teens going through tragedy and seemingly normal kids going through the worst thing ever , And finally , club genocide . These two are incredibly similar , and a good read .

Both history with strong militarism and desire for a better future with a group of characters with dubious morals and sexuality.

both tradegy dark manga about young unmatured boys who hate society and force their way to the world domination and neither succeeds

Dark and erotic-grotesque with homoerotic themes.

Furuya Usamaru's portrayal of a deranged/socially inept individual and their unfortunate fate through their adolescence.

Made by the same author, both about highschool boys wanting to acquire power. Teiichi no kuni focuses more on politics and strategy and interactions between boys who want to become leaders, while Litchi on one boy who becomes "dictator" in his club. Also, similar uniforms, characters (by visuals and by personality).

I'm recommending one of Junji Ito's series because his works and this series feel incredibly similar. It may not be just Uzumaki, but his Museum of Terror (Tomoe, perhaps) feel really the same. However, Uzumaki had me genuinely frightened without being explicit, whereas it felt like Hikari Club did things just because they could (tie it to the characters if you want).

Although Towards the Darkness and Litchi Hikari Club are not for the weak hearted, fans of Usamaru Furuya or even Suehiro Maruo may take a gander at these series. Both share an aesthetic artwork since the artists generally specialize in the grotesque. It's as if beauty, as an almost intoxicating poison, is a main motivator for the characters/entities.

It's hard not to compare this horror titles once you've read both. These stories are very grotesque, bizarre and perfectly displays a lot of horror factors at once. Art in both mangas is as good as it's scary, and they represent a dark and enigmatic atmosphere very well. Importance is given not only to one character but actually a few. Fourteen is a long twenty volumes manga while Litchi Hikari consists of only one.

Both by furuya usamaru, about the descent of a group of young boys. Extreme ideologies, betrayal, grotesque murders, homoeroticism are present in both titles.

Do you want stories about a deviant young progatonist, with plenty explicit content both violent and sexual? Well then those two manga from famously grotesque authors might interest you.

Debauchery, interesting but dark character tales and homosexual relationships that aren't your typical yaoi. Both with captivating artstyle.

Both of these manga take a spin on the tale of Frankenstein, done by a distinguished horror manga authors. Junji Ito creates a more direct adaptation while Furuya Usamaru's work takes the original tale more of an inspiration and creates a more twisted tale with similar themes.
