Mystery novels in which the characters have to find the "odd one out", one that is disruptive element and will cause great misfortune if not found out as soon as possible.  

Both of these are stories about group of people that have an impostor among them, which they have to find out to survive. 

Both emphasize strategic battles with a colorful cast of heroes, villains, and characters who blur that line. Both feature non-human creatures and moral questions related to their struggle against and alongside humans. They each feature tricks such as characters killing or seemingly dying as well as special abilities that feature prominently in their plotlines. 

Secret identities, mysterious extra person in a closed group, the intertwined fates of the characters, all these add up to a well written mystery. 

Group of chosen applicants/heroes go on a mission, but discover that their group is one member larger then it's supposed to be. The situation is getting more tense as the team is trying to find out who is the imposter. 

they both are fantasy and a profound history. Rokka is about a battle against the majin, some kind of magic demon who wants to destroy the world. mushoku tensei record about a character who can remember his past life and now are in a fantasy world when human and demon race are in a tense relatioship. 

Story about a group of heroes rather than one central protagonist, through with various strategies and plans mingle to create interestingly unstable relationships between the characters. 

Do you enjoy antagonists with quality writing and with large scale intricate plan that makes sense both in-world and to the reader? Then you might enjoy these two novels. 

Both are fantasy. Rokka is more mystery and fights while Fullmetal is about philosophical and social issues. But I think both share amazing stories in a medieval setting.
