Synopsis

Rather than a prince and a princess living happily ever after together, it is much more appealing to see a prince and a prince fall in love.

Believing in this wholeheartedly, Kae Serinuma is an overweight second-year high school girl who spends her days obsessing over fictional boys and fantasizing about men being in love with each other. In particular, she ships her male classmates Nozomu Nanashima and Yuusuke Igarashi—in her mind, every interaction they have hints at their romance. However, Kae's entire world is turned upside down when her favorite anime character dies. Heartbroken, she locks herself in her room and cuts off all contact from society. When she finally emerges a week later, she has slimmed down to have become a radiant beauty!

Now, all the boys that Kae was content with watching from afar are suddenly pursuing her—the only problem is, Kae wants no part in it! She would much rather they kiss each other, not her. In the battle for her heart, Kae ensnares the boys in her wild fantasies and exposes them to the true nature of a fujoshi's world.

Let me start this review with the problematics: As a fat person, I often search for things with my representation. Unironically, it's hard to find a piece of media that focuses on an overweight female, but occasionally I come across stuff like Kiss Him, Not Me. At first, I was very excited to begin reading, this seemed right up my alley! But...

The beginning of the story is pretty fatphobic.

Let me introduce you to the characters:
- **Serinuma**, the MC, who actually doesn't give 2 SHITS about her own appearance so that's REALLY COOL. She's a fujoshi, so all that she cares about (REALLY) is... two guys ...

“Wow, this was really good.”

– That's what I thought after finishing the last chapter.

I’m a shipper alright. On top of that, I’m also a simple person, so I usually ship the girl with the first guy to appear. This manga, however, despite providing five possible love interests for the main heroin, didn’t make me ship, strangely enough.

I liked all the boyfriend/girlfriend candidates, they were all unique and all funny in their way. Sure, when Kae had moments with Igarashi, it felt wrong (i'm sorry, Yuusuke). I immediately fell in love with Mutsumi-senpai, because he always cared for Kae, always put her first and didn’t care, ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (37/60 eps)
I encountered this anime while browsing social site and I said I might as give a try to read this one since the plot is interesting. The story is about a female who loves BL and she is fat then suddenly when her favorite character dies, she becomes slim and all of the sudden guys flock around her. Seriously, that's implausible. I think that's one thing that catches the attention of the readers, but then as the story continues apparently the story is lazy and somewhat force. There are some dramas that are unjustifiable. On the positive note, the art is good. The characters have ...
