Eh, it's ok you can definitely tell it's a pilot of the serialized manga. Too short, and seems like it comes in part of the way during the "journey", yes i use the quotes way too much.

I'll start off by saying, if you aren't a fan/haven't read the later series (D.Gray-man) you probably won't find this that interesting story:6 Reading it you can really tell it was Hoshino's first go at creating the base for D.Gray-man. As its a one-shot there isn't really any context for whats going on, and information given is sort of just tossed in there very quickly and then thrown aside.
