In the first place, they are both super cute and heartwarming reads. But, also in both mangas main characters are super handsome, they're coworkers and they also start beeing friends, after one of them sucks at it while the other one is super friendly. I also found similar the fact that in both cases, one of them used to be at some weird point expressionless, and then soften after their first "friendship". And, I could say I loved them both. There are more similar things, but it's better if you go and discover it by yourself!

This rec is for the chapters 5 and 6 of Ato. Be careful of reading ahead, bc *spoilers* Both stories feature a socially inept uke who's happy living his life as a loner, till the day our sweetheart seme forces his way into the uke's life, and completely changes his life by 180 degrees. The seme realizes he's in love with the uke, confesses his feelings, finds his feelings aren't returned, and then starts maintaining a distance from our uke. Hurt, it doesn't take long for our uke to miss our seme (with whom he interacted on a daily basis and found his life empty without  read more

Both manga have gorgeous but terribly anti-social/tsundere guys, who are made to become more "normal" by their future partners, both of whom are kind, dorky, and let's face it - a little clueless :p The art in both manga is good, but Sayonara definitely has superior art.

Similar character dynamics - a likeable and friendly guy ends up befriending a cold, stoic guy, basically pushing his way into the man's solitary lifestyle. And ofc, this ends up being a turning point in the lives of both these men.

Similar dynamics. Two men meet bc they work at the same place, and the older/senior artist shows the young guy around. He's also the first to fall in love with the other.

Similar vibes. We have a closed off uke and an over enthusiastic seme. Both work at the same place and due to certain circumstances, drift apart but ofc, get together in the end.

This rec is for Moshi Koi da Toshite, the spin off series of Sayonara. In both manga, we have an older man that takes care of a bird/birds, who is confessed to by a man several years his junior. Both are short and sweet reads.

Both manga have a kuudere type Mc who's beautiful enough to be a model. He works in a fashion related industry, where his senior happens to be a happy go lucky kinda dork. The senior is attracted to our model, who is quite slow to understand that he too likes his senpai.

Both ukes are very quiet. However, in BnS it's merely because of shyness. In S,InMF he essentially lacks a personality and doesn't care enough about anything to speak (the seme changes that).

Both mangas involve men that confess their love to other "straight" men. The males that are confessed to are both extremely beautiful. However, in OnN he's very aware of his own beauty, while in S,InMF he's indifferent. In OnN, the one that confesses is the uke. In S,InMF it's the seme.

Both manga involve very mysterious, quiet ukes and outrageously curious semes.

Both ukes are reserved, quiet, and very attractive.

The second arc of "Wolf Magic" (Ookami wa Mahou wo) reminds me of "Sayonara, Itoshi no My Friend". There are no similarities with the characters personalities, story settings or uke/semes, but I found that they are similar because of the plot structure. The noisy/popular guy pushes his friendship onto the quiet/aloof guy and eventually falls in love with him but can't break through his naive shell to get him to understand his feelings. In both, the spacey/quiet characters slowly figure out that they like the noisy guy after they stop spending time with them, due to the noisy guy cutting of their friendship because of his  read more
