The second arc of "Wolf Magic" (Ookami wa Mahou wo) reminds me of "Sayonara, Itoshi no My Friend". There are no similarities with the characters personalities, story settings or uke/semes, but I found that they are similar because of the plot structure.
The noisy/popular guy pushes his friendship onto the quiet/aloof guy and eventually falls in love with him but can't break through his naive shell to get him to understand his feelings.
