Both are essay-styled manga, which are autobiographical pieces, that centered around real-life Japanese lesbian couples. Both manga shares their experiences and relations with the people in their lives as a queer individual. Aside from similarities, Honey & Honey delved more into the aspect of lesbian & queer lifestyle, which included the process of coming out, making queer friends etc; whereas Onna Doushi de Kodomo is about the stages of motherhood between a married couple as they plan out to have a family of their own.

Both of these manga offer a look into the lives of those that are part of the LGBT community.

Both are autobiographical manga describing aspects of LGBTQ+ life in Japan, and specifically take time not just to relate the authors' experiences but to directly explain certain parts of Japanese LGBTQ+ culture to the reader. Hanayome wa Motodanshi focuses more on this sort of exposition than Honey & Honey; the latter is longer and spends more time on the story of the author's relationships and romance.

You can learn something about the world (whether history or homosexuals) while laughing at the hilarious comedy. Both are comic-structured and has a good art in their own sense. Hetalia Axis Powers is more popular and should be seen as biographical/nonfiction [because these are personified countries], while Honey & Honey is award-winning as well autobiographical (mangaka is in the lady-lady relationship she draws).

These both are cute little stories that give you a realistic look into lesbian life. Also, they each have zany art and similar female main characters.
