Both are essay-styled manga, which are autobiographical pieces, that centered around real-life Japanese lesbian couples. Both manga shares their experiences and relations with the people in their lives as a queer individual. Aside from similarities, Honey & Honey delved more into the aspect of lesbian & queer lifestyle, which included the process of coming out, making queer friends etc; whereas Onna Doushi de Kodomo is about the stages of motherhood between a married couple as they plan out to have a family of their own.
