Both stories are heavily character focused showcasing the many interactions and relationships where a reader it able to identity each characters opinion of each other. The plot of both also involves factions of supernatural beings, showcasing their unique worlds and culture. Where the story goes to slowly divulge the history of events and truth behind characters past. Both carry a very similar vibe and are highly recommended for fans of supernatural and fantasy-like stories with big focus on character relationships.

Angel Sanctuary is action packed with a hint of romance, but if you like the story line with angels and would like to see more romance rather than more action, you will like Ayashi no Ceres. In Ayashi no Ceres they aren't technically angels, but they are considered angels. The story isn't as deep as Angel Sanctuary so it makes for a much lighter read if that's what would suit you best.

Mixture of romance, devils and angels, supernatural. If you like one you'll like the other one.

By the same author, though Godchild is decidedly darker. Angel Sanctuary contains many similar themes and of course, Kaori Yuki's amazing artwork.

Both stories are about the reincarnation of troubled love and the questionable value of "holy" gifts, and both have some very nice art with similar ornateness.

If you enjoy the twists to Death note, you will LOVE all the twists in this manga. It always keeps you guessing and you never know what is going to happen next. If you like mangas that make you go "Wow" Then you will love this anime. If you did not like how they used religion in Death Note, do NOT read Angel Sanctuary.

if you liked The Other Side of the Mirror, you will love Angel Sanctuary. TOSOTM is a lot like Kaori Yuki's work. AS and TOSOTM share the dramatic story of pure love between a cheerful girl with dark past and her equally trouled, moody lover. Chen Jo and Kaori Yuki have really similar drawing style. The main difference is that Angel Sanctuary has a supernatural plot, while The Other Side of the Mirror is realistic. They're both dark and romantic! Another difference is lenght - AS has 20 volumes, while TOSOTM has only 2.

Though Yoshiki isn't a reincarnated angel, holding the world's salvation and destruction in his hands... Setsuna and him love their sisters more than they are supposed to. In Angel Sanctuary, the ones keeping the coupled sibling apart though are angels and devils...

Both are about a sister and brother. The plot revolves around Fallen angels . And both have an outstanding art.

Both series are about angels and demons not being able to live together, and the main characters' attraction towards one another even though they know its wrong. In both series, there is a war in the ranks of angels, and the issues of human nature is looked at in monumental detail. Kouga-sensei and Yuki-sensei create beautiful art and wonderful character and background art.

These are both long, dark shoujo series from popular mangaka, but that's not where their similarities end. Both X and Angel Sanctuary have complex, twisting plots full of conflict on a large scale. Each has a large cast of developed characters that have personal issues and could stand a few therapy sessions. Finally, in each series destiny comes into play to some degree.

In both stories the main character finds out they have been reincarnated from a past life to continue a war that is going on between good & evil/ god's forces & demons. Both main characters have a protector that follows them throughout their stages of reincarnation who is somewhat like a soul-mate. The art in Angel Sanctuary is beautifully done and Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru is also drawn well (the art resembles Vampire Knight; some of the characters even look similar).

Fancy romantic mangas featuring angels and demons? Enjoy bitter-sweet, well-written stories with occasional splashes of blood? Then both Angel Sanctuary and The Devil Ororon are right for you! Angel Sanctuary is a deep 20 volume epic while The Devil Ororon is a comparatively simple four volume story, but both are very great stories worth checking out!

The main characters really remind me of each other, and the overall atmosphere is really similar, at least in the first half. But AS is much longer.
