Both are shonen sports manga with pretty common "from zero to hero"main chara but more important are the similarities that you will see on every step. First of all characters. Keishin can be like Hiruma's little brother, whats more all rivals are equally fair players and extremely likable full dimensional people. You will see some storytelling common points too but I'm not gonna spoil you because finding them all give a lot of fun and satisfaction.

the main characters start out very similar both very weak willed and give up easy, the story's although very different bring about change to them and along with the help of some brilliant supporting characters they find out they are far stronger then they first thought.

Both Eyeshield 21 and Slam Dunk have a similar story: Player who originally wants nothing to do with the sport ends up playing the sport, and learning to love the sport. Now, Hanamichi Sakuragi and Kobayakawa Sena have completely different reasons for joing their sports, but they do and they get very, very good at their sports. Each one has a rival that inspires them to work harder (Rukawa and Shin), and each one has a reason to win. Both stories are very funny at times, and at other times, very dramatic. Both stories are similar in the fact that they both draw you in,  read more

Somewhat similiar. Both are somewhat "over-the-top" shonen sport animes with lots of special moves and special abilities. Kuroko is somewhat more serious than ES21, but the main difference is that in Kuroko the main character starts out incredibly powerful.

Both series are sports series about an extremely talented young student who joins a school sports team and quickly becomes an integral part of its primary lineup. Both series deal with the dichotomy of talent born from hard work versus inborn genius; they also both have the ongoing motivation of senior students having their last chance at a substantial tournament win.

Both about runners who didn't know they had it in them. Though Sena works hard for the sport later into the series and Ookada works hard for Basketball right off the start. Dogashi Kaden's a very exciting quick read. Too bad the series doesn't go further.

Both the main characters are originally weak, and were bullied at the start of both of these mangas, but then they found strength in a sport that they each love playing. Hajime no Ippo being about Boxing, and Eyeshield 21 being about football. They gradually become better at their respective sports and they each overcome their own fears in order to achieve their goals.

Both are sports series about a young student at an unremarkable school who joins a sports team despite having limited talent for it and, through hard work, becomes a highly capable integral member of the team under the guidance of several upperclassmen of varied temperament and alongside his teammates and friends.

Baby Steps and Eyeshield 21 not only target the same demographic, but do so quite similarly. Both series revolve around a character with a latent potential to succeed in a sport. Although both characters do not readily involve themselves with their sports, they do grow fond of developing themselves and competing with others.

I hope to god that I chose the right version of the E21 manga, If I accidentally chose the Oneshot version instead just know I'm reccomending the full manga. Now at first glance AKB49 and E21 have absolutely nothing in common. AKB49 is a idol manga full of fanservice and cute girls singing and dancing while E21 is a sports manga full of sweaty boys fondling balls. But after rereading the two I noticed some similarities. Minori/Minoru for example reminded me alot of Sena, with him not having any sort of interest in the Idol business until trying it out and going through all the hardship that  read more

Days and Eyeshield feature weak and meek main characters who are introduced to a sport they have no knowledge in (Days - soccer, Eyeshield - american football) and grow a passion for in for one reason or another. They both have strong supporting casts, but Eyeshield is more comedic in its characters and tone. They have very similar total run lengths and the same structure (given the fact that they're both tournament-based series sports) but I'd say that Eyeshield makes better use of its matches and downtime, making it the easier read (barring the last 30 chapters or so which, without spoiling, are pretty  read more

Both of these manga focus on an MC who isn't really built for the sport he wants to get into, and focuses on how they both overcome their respective challenges and gradually become surprisingly cracked at what they do

Both manga have great art, character development in Eyeshield is reminiscent of BNHA but I'd say the development in Eyeshield is better. Eyeshield is an American football manga (which was also published in SJ). Some similarities: - Large colorful + likable casts of characters who are (mostly) all paid attention to and developed - Both MC's are originally meek/bullied (Izuku has no particular talent other than being smart pretty much and Sena is similar but happens to be a very fast runner) - Characters work hard to improve themselves and have superpowers or talents (BNHA - quirks, Eyeshield - special moves/techniques) - Training arcs + tournament arcs, rivals and  read more

Rugby is the sport most similar to American football. Both sports involve the concept of a limited number of 'tackles'/'downs', and in both sports scoring touchdowns'/'tries' takes a clear precedence over goal-kicking.

Both of this mangas are about a guy with a hidden talent that is discovered by another person who have high HIGH goals. Meisetsu is about rugby while Eyeshield is about American Football, and unlike Eyeshield Ebina, the guy who discovers Akira, is not as evil as Hiruma, but these two people aim higher than any other person and have a very strategic minds. Akira and Sena are very common for they don't really have any friend before they join the clubs. This two mangas are very similar because they are about a team sport, friendship and trust between each other. So far Meisetsu seems really cute  read more

The leading characters are similar and through there respective sport they are able to realize there strength and passion for what they do.

One of the main similarities between these two publications is that they are sport mangas that target the shounen demographic. Thus, there are regulations, teams, and classes.

The character of Akumetsu is somewhat similar to Hiruma Youichi of Eyeshield 21; both are Wicked and tries to bring a Hellish life on someone who opposes them

Both has a team that has a genius demonic leader, in one outs you have tokuchi, and on eyeshield you have hiruma. Both have common tactic to get win, using their mind and their comrade ability to make their weak team to beat elite team. And also they even have a similar quote:" we might still win. the chances are like 0.1%. It's too early to give up as long as its not 0%." Hiruma

same premise with MCs being weak minded and always getting scared, and both captains finding out the MCs hidden talent and blackmailed them into joining the club where the MCs starts to develop, with great supporting characters and both are school club.

Both main protagonists are friendless weaklings that are clearly bad at sports but happen to have a unique skill (running for one, pedaling for another) that they've managed to optain through their everyday lives. Both of them reluctantly join the sports club and are slowly but surely becoming stronger. Also, both series show us wide range of characters dealing with their own problems and cultivate the importance of teamwork.
