Saltiness is about finding oneself through experiences and hardship. It is built upon the philosophical approach, same as Sasurai Emanon; the thing that connects them more than anything is how they represent different ideologies through the same philosophical way. They both teach you the same approach might also have different paths and results. The MCs in both manga are carefree but with puzzling personalities, trying to see the world from a different perspective.

Both are Slice of Life featuring barely-immortal female leads living about on country-esque settings. YKK is a iyashikei oriented SoL, while Emanon is more of a philosophical jorney of an aimless wanderer, but both share a similar introspective/contemplative atmosphere.

In both of these the protagonist is a girl which remembers her previous lives/reincarnations and how it influences her relationships with others.

In both manga the protagonist can't stop him/herself from travelling, meeting all sorts of different people in his/her wanderings
