I assume everyone who has read this one also knows Sekaiichi Hatsukoi? In SH I didn’t feel much sympathy with Yokozawa to begin with but as SH developed you started to like him. This novel, with its 7 chapters, gives us an insight to who Yokozawa really is. I’d say the storyline is a bit predictable but it doesn’t matter.

There isn’t much to say when it comes to the category: art. But there is released a little short manga version where we see Yokozawa with Kirishima so it’s easy to imaging the visuals as you read the novel.

One thing I really love ... is that we see everything from Yokozawa perspective. Like what he thinks of Onodera and how he rates his relationship with Takano. Sorata also plays a role along with the important role from Kirishima’s daughter.

This is a short review but it’s mainly to make people aware of the fact that “Sekaiichi Hatsukoi - Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai” is the 7 chaptered novel and not the short manga version. I recommend this to every SH fans, it will give you a great insight on several characters.

I've read and seen a lot of yaoi and I have still yet to encounter a better yaoi than Junjou Romantica and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi.

So, moving to the Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai, compare to pairs + the love triangle in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, this novel is a little different in a way with its awkward pairing.

Story (7/10)

It started out really slow compare to the other pairings in Sekaiichi and a couple of cliches here and there. Although it has a pretty basic story for a yaoi, it was well done, not forced -- It was sweet at the same time sour. You think it’s one ... thing but it’s actually the other way around. It pink but at the same time blue.

The best thing about Fujisaki sensei’s story is how she described in beautiful details of the climax. Compare to the manga wherein most of the story telling were depicted through the pictures, she was able to express that scene with the magic of her words.

Art (8/10)

Another Nakamura sensei work, huh? Well, it’s not the usual pointed chin equals to uke or the usual big uke eyes equals to uke but it is still nice to look at -- great bishie fan service.

Character (8/10)

When it comes to Yokozawa and Kirishima, they did not show the usual kind of love like in Sekaiichi. Usually in Nakamura-sensei’s works, the uke is usually helpless during the climatic scene, but here it’s different which makes it a bit awkward but in the end quite enjoyable with all the pride springing in the air during that “scene.”

Yokozawa is perhaps the strongest uke to be an uke. With his terrifying and prideful personality (more terrifying and prideful than Kamijou’s from Junjou Romantica) it seems that he’s more of a seme than an uke but in the end.

Kirishima, on the other hand, is not gay but rather bi which is unusual for a yaoi -- usually they would have a straight guy transformed into a gay guy or the guys are originally gay and with a strong personality, he was able to move the story on his own.

The only problem about the characters is Kirishima’s daughter, Hiyori which had a weak and predictable personality for a ten year old.

Another treasure in storries of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi.

In this story Yokozawa is shownt from very different and new angle.
Feels like Yokozawa from 2D bacame a 4D.

I happened to read the story not the manga with pics. There feeling and sorroundings were explained. That what you see in pics was written allowing your imagination run wild.

It displayed emotions way better. You can look into feelings of broken heart trying to forget and survive, gather strength to live again.

There are truly stories that are treasures. No matter gender or age or whatever comes in your mind. Try reading just for pure and beautidul story.

Sekaiichi Hatsukoi was my first yaoi manga, i even wrote a fangirl review at that time and gave it a 10 (deleted at present time). A hundred yaoi mangas later, my tastes have changed a bit and though i still read every new chapter released, i know there are much betterworks out there.
This particular spin off of SiH got my special atention after surpassing Yoneda Kou's Doushitemo Furetakunaiin the general rankings and decided to write a review.

This manga turned to novel tells the story of what happened to our third wheel man, Yokozawa after being rejected by Takano. He too must find hapiness to, right? ... Here is where Kirishima comes in handy.
I have to say, after reading SiH and JR, the plot is very much overused and the writing (considering this is a novel) is not that good.
The art is still mediocre at best but at least the characters don't look the same anymore.

Before pressing that not helpfull button, i beg of you, try reading some of the works by Yoneda Kou, Hidaka Shoko or Tuzuki Tsuta you will not be dissapointed.
This manga abolutely cannot be at #102!
