From the chapters released so far you can see they pretty much stick to the novel, so story-wise I don't think there are going to be any surprises.

The story is similar to "Under Grand Hotel" in terms of setting and even some events but this trend stops when it comes to it's characters. Deadlock's main couple's chemistry just pales in comparison to what Swordfish and Sen have going on and by no means Dick should be looked upon as the new Swordfish.
Still, there is some kind of plot going on and it even managed to get sidetracked one time.

The thing that pretty much saves this ... manga (and turns my initial rating of 6 into a 7) is it's art. I mean all the guys are just gorgeous: they manage to look hot in prison clothes, they have pretty wavy hear and eyes that shine like gems. Schelger Prison must be a special place reserved for runway male models.

Sekaiichi Hatsukoi was my first yaoi manga, i even wrote a fangirl review at that time and gave it a 10 (deleted at present time). A hundred yaoi mangas later, my tastes have changed a bit and though i still read every new chapter released, i know there are much betterworks out there.
This particular spin off of SiH got my special atention after surpassing Yoneda Kou's Doushitemo Furetakunaiin the general rankings and decided to write a review.

This manga turned to novel tells the story of what happened to our third wheel man, Yokozawa after being rejected by Takano. He too must find hapiness to, right? ... Here is where Kirishima comes in handy.
I have to say, after reading SiH and JR, the plot is very much overused and the writing (considering this is a novel) is not that good.
The art is still mediocre at best but at least the characters don't look the same anymore.

Before pressing that not helpfull button, i beg of you, try reading some of the works by Yoneda Kou, Hidaka Shoko or Tuzuki Tsuta you will not be dissapointed.
This manga abolutely cannot be at #102!

Brace yourself, this is another ANOTHER (almost)review.
Because there are already tons of reviews and threads that go on and on about this anime, i'll just stick to a simple pros and cons list. If someone has read this far without knowing the synopsis, just check the one on top of the page, anything more would be considered a spoiler.
So, here it comes:
PROS:
-high quality animation
-entertaining like a carcrash
-gives off an uneasy feeling in the first episodes

CONS:
-most of the plot twists were kinda predictable
... -plot holes
-this anime had some great promising first episodes but grew weaker by the end and culminated with a rather asspulled ending
-very shallow characters, just pawns for the plot (yes, i know about the gloomy eyepatched girl, like i said, shallow)
-the horror+gore parts made me laugh ( if that was what they were going for, this would be in the pros list)

I'we rewatched this last night and decided to write a review.

I'm gonna start with the art in this particular case.
Watching this movie is pure bliss to anyone who's into photography or visual arts. Not only does Shinkai Makoto understand and master light to it's last photon, but he also bends it to his will creating these stunning surreal settings.
The color palette subtly changes troughout the movie form lively overexposed pastels in the first part, to darker, more contrasting ones in the second.
This anime was made by loving hands: almost every still shot in this movie it's a work of art in it's own ... right, from the perfect proportion in landscapes to dazzling lens effects and angles: reflections, les flare, bokeh and many more.
I have to admit that over the years, Shinkai's animations have been o constant source o amazement and delight for me. What will he do next to top this?

The story isn't something new or impressive but it's something that any of us can relate to: our first love. There are so many ways to mishandle your first love, especially at an early age.
You recall it over the years with a bitter sweet smile: what if...
The characters are well developed for an one hour ova but for more depth and a better understanding of the ending i sugest reading the manga.

5 Centimeters per Second is not going to please everyone but i believe this is a must see for every anime fan out there.

In my book, any guy who stays up a whole night to make fake swimsuit boobs for his insecure friend is a keeper, you don't need 25 episodes to realize that!

Instead of writing a classic review, i decided to make a Pro-Con list because there were some things about this show that didn't really tickle my fancy and would have liked to know about them before i started watching (by reading other reviews).

Pros:
-interesting plot twists
-interesting characters, great lead male
-funny as hell firs half of the season
-art

... Cons:
-predictable story
-the show had a haremish feel to it though that wasn't mentioned in the description
-too much geometry: forget love triangles, this show has love squares
-overused "oblivious of my feelings" routine
-length of the show, some episodes cold have been trimmed off
-ending (felt a little bit rushed and silly)

Though it's not the best romance series ever made, this show has been really enjoyable.Don't let the length of my cons list fool you, if you are into that, give it a try!

WOW, this has been one hell of a ride, highly addictive and crazy fun!

So, what do you get if you mix in together a high school love triangle, Tokyo's Ikebukuro rival gangs, the world's strongest man, a headless horse woman, a black market doctor, an information seller, a black russian with a passion for sushi and random classical music parts? Well' you get Durarara!!!

The viewer is kept in the dark the first part of this show, the story unfolds bit by bit and there is a strong character development an the tension just keeps growing. The characters take turns in becoming narrators, each time ... adding a new piece to the puzzle.
You gotta love that Izaya fellow!

I loved the art, the only thing that kinda bugged me was the character design witch i got used to by the end of the show. The music was kinda freakish, random bits of piano an violin witch go with the whole theme of the show.

Ergo Proxy is a psychological sci-fi thriller anime with amazing art and sound. Well, in my book that sounds about perfect. But is it, really?

The first 2 or 3 episodes kept me on the edge of my seat but after that, the show became more slow paced (but still entertaining) till episode 20 when i presume the guys in charge realised they've got only 3 more episode to finish the story and began throwing all kinds if information at the public. I guess they've told themselves:" it's minfuck, it doesn't all need to make sense, let's throw some more french and latin lines to dazzle ... the public!".
I didn't care much about the filler episodes either, the space could have been used to better develop the plot; the Smile Land episode was completely unnecesarry and the Quizz episode was kind of a rip off.

Though i've enjoyed the show, what really bugs me about Ergo Proxy it's that it never reaches it's true potential. It could have been a true gem, all the elements were there.

I wanted to see what the fuss was about with this anime everyone' worked up about so i decided to give it a try though "slice of life" isn't really my thing.
I have to say it was a huge dissapointment and the only thing i enjoyed were the art and sound.
Although Tomoya seemed likable at times, i hated all the female caracters in the show. People say that they have their own fascinating personalities but this is how it really goes: stupid brown haired girl, violent grey haired girl, pushy blue haired girl, ADD blue haired girl, fortune telling blue haired girl and so on.
There's ... just too much moe for me to bear.
